Brakes advice please!
Yup - this..... As later NAs came with TT calipers and the same thicker discs. If you do need to upgrade on an older NA, you'd need the calipers from a TT to accommodate the thicker discs. I believe the calipers just bolt straight on without modification. Richard

RIP Gordon Kaye....
A sad loss to entertainment.... I always loved Allo Allo back in the day..... And I had the pleasure of meeting the man himself, when he played Captain Hook to my friend's Peter Pan in Crawley back in the early 1990s.... RIP Gordon...

Second hand parts market
Yup - in a nut shell, IMO..... And it's no coincidence that decent Z32s are fetching higher prices on the market too. Those rusty old Ebay £1,500 cars have long since gone - been broken up and spares sold on. Likewise with the cheap purchases, bought and thrashed; and ultimately crashed into trees. And then harvested for parts..... .....The remaining cars are those found on here; cherished and enthusiast-owned. So much fewer cars out there, to actually be broken for spares.

Oh my goodness !!!
Nice..... .......but £1.5m a pop.......!!!! I'm also pleased about Jaguar re-issuing the last few models of the classic D-type. Not that I'd ever get to own one though, but great that two iconic motoring brands can still invest their funds in such a frivolous hark back to their former glory days.... Apparently the Jaguars are "replacements" for the original final batch of cars that were destroyed by a fire in the factory back in the day......!

Over 7 years of the road. What needs done?
Hi and welcome to the club Martin! Good luck with your new project - I think the bases have pretty much been covered above..... ...Id also pay attention to the brake calipers. Even those cars in regular use suffer from the calipers seizing, becoming sticky or just generally needing a good refurb; as age and the stresses of stopping a 1.5 tonne sports coupe from high speed take their toll.

Help finding a 300ZX for a magazine feature
Hi and welcome to the club Dan! And yes, cryptic enough... Would this have anything in common with certain e-mails between a certain Mr Chadwick and me, per chance....? As the UK's only 300zx Z32-specific club, you have come to the right place - we have some damn fine cars here - and some great members; all of whom would be proud to help out; given the chance. Richard:cool:

Classic BMW totalled
Very sad indeed..... .....Just like when Jaikai had his Zed written off on the way to the NEC back in 2015  Cars get hit all the time, but when they're ten-a-penny, still in production, modern motors; they can be replaced through insurance. However to see a fine classic lost this way......

What did you do to your zed today?
Yup - I must concur..... One of the best cars in the club and there's so much wrong with it....:biggrin: I also agree. OEM is the best 'wheel IMHO - particularly one which has been re-trimmed by our very own Mondo....:cool: As for me, I haven't done anything to my Zed today (yet).... .....But yesterday, as it was a nice morning, I took mine out for the first time since mid-December. And boy did it feel good - so once I finished the Sainsbury's run, I continued further into the Chilterns for a nice blast in the winter sunshine. It did need a few miles until it was running "properly" this time, though. Engine and transmission were fine from the off, but the brakes felt almost non-existent for a bit. However I put that down to parking the Zed in the garage straight after washing it last year. They were "stuck" when I tried to drive out of the garage... However once warmed up - and after a few harsh stops (when it was safe to do so, of course) - all was well once more. So much so, that it might be coming out to ply again today:biggrin:

Does anyone know much about car alarms?
I kind of agree - but if anyone is really determined to steal your car, then they will; irrespective of how good the security is.... .....Personally, I'd just go see an alarm specialist and get it looked at. If it's FUBARD, get a new cat-one system fitted - cost is circa £200-£300 nowadays.

JAE 2017 - Discussion
Sadly Pete is right; this is why JAE is no longer for me either...
