  1. Rods are forged and of good design so mega power for them and yes way in excess of 500bhp. Pistons are not and are good for what ever condition they are in to begin with, being approx 20 years old and a wee problem of fuel starving No.6 when upping the boost, no certain figure. For the cost of pistons, if yer EVER open a block for whatever reason and pistons are stock, replace them! Numerous brands around but wiseco about the cheapest and easily available in varying sizes. smithy
  2. Dunno what problems you've had or got, sozz but when i fitted 356mm discs to the wheels i had at the time they were a tad too big, took em down to a local machine shop and had 5mm all round machined off, job done for about 30quid! hth smithy
  3. Great spec mate :balloon: Any more details on the turbo's, size wise, 5 stud or still 4 etc cheers smithy
  4. Welcome fella :cool2: http://www.zedworld.co.uk will sort you out any spares yer need, check out their website and drop them a mail or call. Good luck! smithy
  5. Are yer sure it was his engine mate. A couple years back a bloke who was on his 2nd project had an SE built engine and thousands of pounds of new parts to be fitted, he done a deal whereby Chris swapped engines and took his parts of his hands. This meant the bloke could then sell an almost stockish Zed in working order and off load all the parts he built up, about 12k's worth. Oh think yer better of trying to find all those pissed with ztech and dealing with matters as a group! smithy
  6. Lol i did mate, go back to page 1 of your thread and my post number 15, just click the link :thumbup1: smithy
  7. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=135139&referrerid=119 There yer go Ged :-) smithy
  8. Standard replacement mate It's easier to remove as a whole with my induction kit already fitted as well. That should tell you if MAF or wiring. cheers smithy
  9. Visually the UK has rear fog lights built into the bumper, jap either none or a wee small one below. EARLY UK zeds had front seat belts on the pillars, jap on the door. Front side lights on a UK are on front of bumper with indicator attached and a smoked blank on corner of bumper, jap side lights on corner of bumper. Speedo in KM UK in mph hth smithy
  10. No worries mate, i can pop round for 10 mins tonight around 7pm or tomorow around 11am. Same place? Will show yer whats what and how to test. smithy

  12. Oh dear, for future if yer dealing with andy he is as straight as they come and been in the business a very long time too. Cash via special delivery would have covered you both. As said in a previous post he was selling on behalf of someone else hence cash on pick up so as to avoid the transaction going through his account no doubt. Oh well, sure you'll get one soon fella smithy
  13. So did you buy it in the end fella? smithy
  14. All sounds interesting mate, you got the full spec and who undertook most of the work? smithy
  15. Pretty sure Andy would accept paypal in full for it. Noticed he's also got a decent stainless exhaust for sale, the pipework is a lot more free flowing than many others on the market. smithy
  16. Normal 78-82 and giving it welly is 82-85ish and yep modified mate  smithy
  17. Are yer able to help at all mate?? cheers smithy
  18. Ross pistons are very good mate, for sure, but with new rings you could maybe get 200 + bucks plus for the set, to buy a set of wisecos around 400 bucks smithy
  19. Ah bit clearer mate, am not a 100% on what effect if any water marks makes to the block, but yes he can't go any further as the pistons will no longer fit. But 1st thing, try and get the exact measurement of them, if they are less than 89mm, with new rings you could flog em and simply buy wiseco 88.5 or 89mm pistons and bore to suit, it's the quickest option. Spare blocks are 10 a penny and so you could do that, but hassle with stripping down, cleaning and honing etc to suit you ross ones. Jimmer is best to ask about the current block condition, but as said, you can't 100% deal with yer options without knowing teh size of the ross pistons you have. Oh if you bought the rings maybe have details from that? smithy
  20. Hmm bit strange mate. Stock pistons are 87mm after a hone out you usually fit 87.5mm ones. Far as i knew and maybe legrath knows, i thought ross were at least 88mm. A rebore to suit say an 89mm piston being the max really, you shouldn't see anything at all. Can he confirm what bore it is now? are the pistons second hand or new? smithy
  21. Oh man soooo close :cool2: I know a bit picky, just trying to get the exact image thats in my mind, can the kids be a tad younger? and looking towards the parent that faces them, idea being is that the kids are being ignored? get me. massive thanks tho fella :flowers: smithy
  22. Thats it mate bang on, weird i know, oopps. Chris (uno) his idea above is the theme spot on and though i had in my mind kids looking up to their parents, but parents fighting. cheers fellas smithy
  23. A bit of a strange request this guys, but anyone who searches photos a lot and knows about altering them, would be best. This is for a personal non profit website! Looking for a picture of 2 children, standing almost back to back and obviously each looking in their own direction but upwards, now the complicated bit. Standing up and looking over them is an adult either side, 1 male and 1 female. However the adults i want in complete black as if they are each like a dark shadow and the adults are pointing fingers at each other as if they are arguing. Point being is the children are looking upto their parents, but their parents are too busy to notice as they are arguing with each other, get me lol Any help would be great, oh and at any time for personal reasons i may totaly deleate this post, long story!!!! Oh and if yer like, email it to me if you prefer, my username and then @manx.net cheers smithy
  24. If Zedworld have quoted 300 bucks for a job that they have done numerous times before and we don't know exactly what it is, then even going to Phils is gonna be something close or possibly even more and of course he'll have to do his own tests to see whats wrong first. Distinct advantage is of course distance, but it's still a costly job! Good luck either way :-) Oh take it your not in portsmouth then? smithy
  25. Yep decent paintwork, not keen on front bumper tho. Engine bay now looks like you've turned a respected powerful brute of a car into coco the clowns toy car that belongs in toysrus! Very sad :crying: smithy
