Braided hose is this stuff good or bad
Christ mate, yer don't hang about eh lol You sure you got a home for that little lot... Let us know what your planning on changing and will tell you if any good or not. But for now just swap yer 8mm for ssomething really decent. If he refunds you, the likes of Goodridge and Earl's do the best and as you only need a few Metres, though expensive, it ain't too bad. Also don't forget, when using any of this type of stuff, unless you use the correct ends, it all looks kinda shite. smithy

Braided hose is this stuff good or bad
So your using the other sizes then for other things? vacumms and breathers and water etc is okay, it's just the actual fuel lines that are really important, as i said 7.9mm too and around 3Metres will do all your lines in the engine bay , so it won't mean sending the lot back. smithy

Just to add to that above, it should be reasonably high pressure and 7.9mm not 6mm. cheers smithy

gtr disc fitment....
GTR ones then mate. The 350z brackets only come from the US. I don't think Alan realised you were using stock calipers with your brackets. HTH Smithy

gtr disc fitment....
It depends on which relocating brackets you got, they differ between the GTR ones and the 350Z ones, simply buy discs for the brackets you have. That said 99% of relocating brackets on here are GTR fitment :-) smithy

Intercooler ducting
Be creative mate, making the actual ducts themselves is cheap and fairly easy, the final finish can be something that is unique if you wish! Polished or Chrome would look good me thinks :punk: Well at the mo, i've no trays underneath or arch liner directly behind cooler section. However when i put the liner back, i will be doing a vent section behind the cooler area, but that will be it like, no other plans. Cheers Smithy

Intercooler ducting
Arc coolers are very very good. Certainly before the likes of Ash and Z1 Coolers they were shown to be the most efficient :-) For my ducts, i made hard cardboard templates to go from the very top and sides of my new coolers, trial fitted with bumper on/off and from under the car. Once happy I made the same in alloy in 2 peices and tacked together, then sealed any joins. This part was all quite cheap to do and really fairly easy. However i do like subtle pieces of carbon fibre and buying genuine half mill sheets that i then cut down, deffo was not cheap! i then used paper internal templates as i didn't wanna get it wrong, sealed on the carbon once cut and sealed any joins in black silicone. Now any air that enters the front bumper duct can only go over the face of the cooler. Pics give you a rough idea. If you do it in alloy and keep it neat, you can then simply paint the inside to suit, job done! smithy

running bov-less - help for people considering it!
Dam some tw*t fitted a re-circ to my S13 when they had it before me, dohh should have said mainly "performance" cars as to what they were fitted to. Certainly though, once they started a wee bit later on, all Performance Nissan cars were that i know off. around 93ish? Like said before, each to their own, you can either believe what manufacturers of BOV's and designers of the cars say or yerself, cos it's your car at the end of the day. cheers smithy

running bov-less - help for people considering it!
will this help your reply http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blowoff_valve Theres absolutely nothing about internet hearsay, it is also common sense. Notice very early turbo production cars didn't have BOV's, certainly mid 80's many didn't. Nissan wise, the S12 didn't however engineers realised this was happening and fitted BOV's in Nissan's there after the S12. Knowing the tish sound was not everyones cup of tea and by putting the prssure back in the system later may help, we end up with re-circs fitted as standard on every Nissan after the S12 that i know off, hmm i wonder why! smithy

running bov-less - help for people considering it!
Ok, so foot on throttle and car accelerating = butterfly open and air being sucked in, engine needs cool dense air and a lot of it, foot of throttle = butterfly shut. what happens to all that air/pressure build up in the intake system, where does it go? Mikael, we're talking either BOV or no BOV at all, forgetting for a moment if it's atmosphere or re circulating. smithy
-
running bov-less - help for people considering it!
Hmm a pair of turbo's operating with no type of BOV = impellor stall = lag ANY type of BOV = none or reduced impellor stall = quicker spooling turbo's :tt2: smithy
-
running bov-less - help for people considering it!
Correct in the fact it is to relieve pressure when the butterfly shuts, but in doing so it then stops the tubs from NOT spinning and thus enable them to spin back up to speed again faster, hence it is for the performance of the tubs to get the most out of them especially during acceleration and to try and avoid damage to the tubs from a constant stalling impellor. Atmos BOV's are loud simply cos they do release to the atmosphere whereas re-circs send back into the system to reuse that same pressure again. So as re-circs are actually very quiet, then yep yer right, Atmos BOV's are louder, considerably too not just "a bit" Geez, if i'd known what you were trying to achieve, could have told yer it wouldn't have worked, simply because the length and design of the intake pipes, that is what mainly determines how loud the chatter can be followed by the size of the tubs. Anyway, you tried it now, each to their own an all that but am sure others won't bother now :-) cheers smithy

running bov-less - help for people considering it!
Sorry confused.com with this. The title says going BOV - less, so you remove the stock ones and blank up everything and no noise was heard, which is correct. Then you mention an atmos BOV so you then fitted aftermarket BOV's?? and heard no noise? smithy

Cas problem please help
Now that you've removed the CAS, your gonna have to ensure the timing is back on track at 15 degrees. Generally though but not always, if the 10mm bolts that sit in the slider are positioned in the middle of this slider, it should be at or around 15 degrees, so loosen the bolts and twist the CAS until they are central. You then need to have the timing checked with a strobe light to be certain, so nip to a local garage and ask them to check it, again if it's out, loosen bolts and turn CAS until it is bang on. Once this is done, only then really can you address any other problems with the car. cheers smithy

bloody pot holes!!!!!
Why? the only person on here that's reported a fail, ever and i've never seen anyone anywhere else too. I wouldn't worry yerself mate, see the above :-) Both Powertrix and SPL being the main distributors of Z32 specific adjustable suspension offer a 1 year gaurantee, like many other manufactures for various parts. Theses arms are nearly 6 years old now. That all said, it was raised by me 2 years ago if the upper arms were actually fitted the correct way round, which if they wern't, would contribute to failed tension rods, which is what 1st happened. I am not saying they are fitted incorrectly now, but given the 1st failure to teh tension rods 2 years ago and now this, it is very possible and i know many people have made mistakes with this in the past, it is very easily done. Arms from these suppliers MUST be fitted the correct way round as many others that are sold on ebay and drift works etc are intended for Skyline fitment but will fit the Zed, however there are minor differences between them. I have previously posted pics showing the result of incorrect Z32 arms and incorrectly fitted ones too. Further more these kind of parts should be inspected and maintained on a regular basis. I know the ones Luke was selling required regreasing at regular intervals but doubt anyone ever does! Finally, both Powertrix and SPL often make changes to their products if a particular component becomes availabale that they feel would make the product better, aalbeit suspension or otherwise. They both track Zeds in the US themselves and use this as part of their product testing and development. Hence Z32 specific aplications for parts and constant improvements and developments in their products. Cheers Smithy
