  1. Because if you look at his username on that post, the "TT" is spaced from the word Jeff. Now it is joined togther so it's all one. So would imagine that was a 2nd username he used back then and is no longer valid :-) smithy
  2. TBH mate just take it back to Darren to sort. The work he's done may or may not be related to all the various problems you have had since getting it back, BUT, would have thought all the usual things may have been checked over and conzulted to ensure alls okay before being collected. You can of course do an ECU diagnostic yourself in 10 mins to bring up the error codes and I would hazard a guess the 1st thing Darren would do when you bring it back is conzult it anyway, so same thing really but it might give you peace of mind. Either way, get it back to the garage for looking at. smithy
  3. No advantage what so ever, 3.5 bar is more than ample for what ever you can map the car too. smithy
  4. Is there a pic you can show us? smithy
  5. Mate, it's not just handbrakes she does that to, I can assure you of that :tt2: smithy
  6. Thought i'd get some quick shots of the Zed next to the best thing in a long time. This is Maggie, short for Magdalena who comes from Poznan in lovely Poland. Aged 29 and has been an absolute godsend for me in the past year  Thankfully she loves the Zed so guess it's staying around a few more years yet lol. Hope you like! Smithy
  7. As Legrath (yowser) says, they all do know matter where you purchase from as all manufactured by same company. They are easy to fit if you have a wee sharp knive and simply cut off the height of 1 lug on your harness plug and push in firmly. 2 mins and job done. They also look nicer with those chrome bulbs rather than the orange. smithy
  8. Usually around 16-20 quid on ebay smithy
  9. Seen the title of this thread and straight away thought of the ex wife for the dead air, however being the kinda woman she is, she'd struggle with the silence bit! Oh well done on the motor tho  smithy
  10. Just to the left of No.24 in this pic. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=207433&postcount=2 If you have it, then for sure it had Cruise control and either fit a boss on yer steering wheel or fit an OEM wheel back on again. If you ain't, then either you didn't or it's been removed to tidy the engine bay up smithy
  11. Not quite sure why your desperate mate, it's one of those niggly problems that needs looking into and could be a few differnt things. Surely as D2 are currently working on it then they will find the problem for you a 100 times easier than anyones guess on here as they have the car. Your happy they will sort arn't you? smithy
  12. The guy that bought Darkside's Zed was a member here, he kinda fell out with a few peeps and I dunno if he left freely or was pushed lol Pretty sure his spelling wasn't that bad on here... He was aware of the situation of what happend to it and bought through the other Zed club site, so the story about the missing wheel is half correct. Not a bad Zed in places tbh and at least it's Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint. Right am off to get a packet of Polo's :tongue_smilie: smithy
  13. Wouldn't be the 1st time a cambelt has been fitted incorrectly, even by just a tooth! Sure Jeff can say he's had many in like that in the past. Maybe investigate more before throwing the towel in mate :-) smithy
  14. If your after 3in piping mate, which is a good idea with your build. Then your looking at either custom manufacture or import from the likes of SpecialtyZ who developed 3in systems some time ago. Personally I would go with the latter. All the other well known brands will normally be 2.5in. hth and good luck with things now you have the Zed back and know what's going on with it :-) Smithy
  15. Pretty good theory mate and sounds very plausible imo especially as it was overheating from day one and doing less miles per gallon that a sherman tank. I would expect given the costs involved here not only in the supply of the engine but more so the cost of shipping back and forth etc, Kyle is gonna want someone experienced to fully check and confirm it is the gasket and then open up here and supply detailed report and a lot of pics as proof of what the report is saying. If it turns out your right, then this could be the evidence needed against the mapper. Only way to tell is open it up and see whats what. Good luck mate and really do feel for you! smithy
  16. Not fuses, the large relays in the large relay box in the engine bay, passenger side. Look in the boot area for a cut wire then cos if the lights are stock and no bulbs are blown, you must have a cut wire there which lighting up the dash light. smithy
  17. Check the large relay in the fuse/relay box passenger side front of engine for the front lights. Have you got any form of aftermarket rear lights on the car? if so that can be the cause of the light on the dash coming on when you brake, not unusal. smithy
  18. Craig is bob on mate  Am on my 2nd divorce sadly, but my 1st was also a reasonably friendly time and I took every oppurtunity to see my kids. They are adults now and remember those times very well and I know for a fact they love and respect me all the more for it :thumbup1: This time round however is a different matter, I see them as per a court order and even then this ex pushes it all the time to stop me being with them. Stupidly she thinks that because they are very young that they won't ever know any difference or grow up knowing what she is doing. 4 year olds may not be able to read and write properly, but by christ they know what is going on at home and 1 day i'll stand back and watch when a slap of reality hits her...... Oh and sure you've noticed the internet is awash with fathers for justice websites, don't see any for women do yer? :whistling: In short, a lot of men would happily be in your shoes, so just see your kids fella and every other chance you can too. smithy
  19. Now that your home and things have settled down, have you checked the coolant level to see if it needs more again? Posibility of a weeping water pipe at back of engine, dripping onto the exhaust perhaps? smithy
  20. He ain't got round to driving it yet, maybe 1 day soon........ smithy
  21. Jap slapper, Re read my post above, as regards the Zed Japspeed system along with many many other exhaust manufactuer's simply copying the existing design of a stock system. That is no real big deal and you can have a 700bhp Zed with 1 of the above, however if you want the exhaust to perform as well possible and as well as the engine given the length and bends required in our system, THEN, the likes of the other named companies mentioned above come in to play. You can see the major difference in the pics i posted above, now the companies who make these expensive systems don't have to hand the buying power in China where most systems are robotically made, i have somewhere a name of a company who make all the parts by the 100 or 1000 for these cheaper supplied units. All Pete is trying to achive here is the best possible performing exhaust he can get, with that it means paying top ££, some will pay it and some won't. hth smithy
  22. Inclusive of a clutch presumebly?? Average cost for labour on a clutch job is approx 200-240 bucks in most garages, plus the vat of course unless cash in hand. smithy
  23. Did you remove the lid or just look at the container and see the fluid mark? if the latter, deffo 100% remove the lid to check. smithy
