  1. He's referring to the brand called "superchips" mate not chips in general. As Jeff showed in the pic the list of companies offering them now is endless and of course he does his own version which he's fitted to 100's of Zeds :thumbup1: smithy
  2. Sounds a good idea to me mate, especially as he won't be logging on for some time and doesn't use this site as much. Committee??? smithy
  3. Mate you'd be nuts going anywhere else. Many many Zedders travel for hours and even from Europe to have their cars done there. It's the only garage i know off that do JUST Zeds and nowt else, think Jeff does a couple hundred cambelts a year and often repairs or re does the jobs other garages have done. Finally he often supplies you with pics of the job as it progresses and a detailed invoice for your records. For the jobs you listed, pretty good price! Oh and yes I travel all the way there from the Isle of Man :-) Smithy
  4. If it's a UK car with standard clocks it's all in MPH and miles mate. smithy
  5. Not been one on mine for 10 years mate. I use Apexi gauges and it never gets above 82 when pushed but averages 78normal driving. smithy
  6. Company been around a long time mate and never heard owt negative about em really. Instructions below on how to fit on a Zed and it should come with everything needed. http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/tech/avcr/avcr.html smithy
  7. Apart from the diameter on standard ones. smithy
  8. Ah gotcha mate :cool3: smithy
  9. But did you fit the N/A bracket to the BACK of the pump mate, it secures it to the block? smithy
  10. Close mate :-) If you want an N/A pump in a TT motor then you use the N/A bracket. See no reason why you can't fit the TT pulley to this. If you use a TT pump in a TT then you use the TT bracket and you can if you wish take out the fins if deleting the hicas etc. cheers smithy
  11. Ideally yes 2 and after fitting don't forget to block of your existing factory fitted dump valves. smithy
  12. Did you fit the N/A back holding bracket as well mate, or leave the TT one on? Usually it's a case of using the N/A bracket with a little bit of metal shaved off. smithy
  13. Then i'd ask her to pick what shade black you want for your car :tongue_smilie: smithy
  14. You gotta be joking, who makes your decisions at home when you paint the walls fella, cos what we like is our choice, what you like should be influenced and liked by you. Theres a Zillion Blacks, look at cars on the street and carparks etc that are black and pick one, it's what and most others do when choosing paint. smithy
  15. See no reason why not. Lead/battery cable in through the back, tighten down the bolt. Fit over terminal and tighten nut at the front. smithy
  16. What ever colour you actually like! Some ideas here http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=141524&referrerid=119 and from a few weeks ago http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=145112&referrerid=119 smithy
  17. Other than what's been said, i don't think you should be putting a child/baby seat in the middle, behind the otehr seats where possible. smithy
  18. Give Jeff a shout at Zedworld as he may have 1 or 2 with fairly complete bodywork. He'll assess the underneath and can arrange delivery too for yer! smithy
  19. At literally a tenner a corner, you'll get what you pay for and possibly a snapped spring! smithy
  20. Be interested to know how the pistons and rods are custom mate and who did the build for you or the last owner. Always good to know who does good builds and what they use :-) cheers smithy
  21. Right so none of those things really point to an auto or a manual and in any event arn't a problem. Once you've looked at your starter and coil pack that needs sorting, jobs a goodun and as said pop over to Zedworld and they will tell you exactly whats what so you know what engine you do have not that it really makes any difference tbh. Certainly imo i'd be looking to have the engine in tip top shape before a paint job. Good luck smithy
  22. Yes an auto engine plonks straight in a manual car. What exactly seems to be the problem that concerns you whether it was auto or manual in a previous life? some surplus connectors?? Post some pics up of what concerns you and we can have a look. smithy
  23. 1st thing any new owner should do mate is head on over to Zedworld. They do an inexpensive assessment of your car and make any minor adjustments as needed and a report on what's wrong etc. They will also tell you whats what about any aspect of it, past or present and theres a very strong chance it's been through their doors before, in which case the details will be recorded. Oh and manuals had CC as well. Smithy
  24. Yes Mike at MJP will sort that lot out for yer, however unless your puishing in excess of 500-600bhp you'll never need an uprated fuel pump. The zeds pump is one the most powerful out there unlike many other jap cars. smithy
  25. T28's never came in a 4 bolt design, always a 5. So it looks like Godspeed have had these manufactured for them ( no doubt in china like most of their stuff) Still it's a new turbo and cheap as chips, with fitting costs turbo's arn't something i'd personally scrimp on, but it ain't my money :-) Oh and yes the 1st ones (coolq) are for the 200sx so 1 would need clocking etc, could be fitted though with a little effort. cheers smithy
