  1. Gees that's bad, bet if yer had any other car they would. The Zeds labour costs can be quite large on this job hence why they don't. Fortunately this only happened once on a set i sold and i paid to have a full inspection report done AND paid towards fitting costs and delivery of new. Well yer know where to buy yer new tubs from eh :D but i don't any others than i already list. cheers smithy
  2. Mac, are yer using a UK supllier for yer Greddy's mate ? just that as you know ANY Turbo's can develop a fault or the engine does which points towards turbo's at fault, any turbo supplier is obliged to sort out any probs that appear and helpout with costs incurred, which can be big bucks :( in short yer gaurantee is with them NOT greddy. just thought i'd let yer know given the costs involved here. cheers smithy
  3. Alex, yer maybe a bit pissed fella, but yer still speak some sense :) Friday you maybe a newbie, but least your on the right track mate in my opinion ;) cheers smithy
  4. We're all entitled to our beliefs Mac, yours is your and mines mine, and until someone comes on here who has tuned their engine AND fitted Hybrid T28's designed to flow enough puff to do the job and they can't get 600bhp, THEN along with many others i'll concede ;) If 600 bhp is your goal, good luck to yer mate and fair play for having the balls to spend all the cash to do it as well. Just hope no one comes along side yer in a manual well tuned Hybrid turb'd motor and leaves yer at the lights, different goals different people, some want the power figure with ultimite top end and some want the shear acceleration and about 25mph top end less ! cheers smithy
  5. Just rembered i had this from a Turbo builder/Designer of hybrids whose turbo's are on many Zeds here, he's talking about SE tubs, heres a short paragraph. smithy " they have an actual designation from Garrett as a TB2808 which are rated for 300 BHP but they will get a good 320-330 BHP with a bit of good tuning on the engine this is on a 4 cylinder - 2 litre engine as well! So when I went to school that would equate to 600-660 BHP. This spec fitted to the V6 engine would cause lag when you consider that the split on this engine would be a 3 cylinder 1.5 litre….but all these mean nothing if you were to fit them to a rubbish engine, the results would change on a good engine and these figures are always down to the engine and state of tune! "
  6. Gees i'm impressed with this, 6 pages on and no falling out :D Mac, yep a pair of the Correct configured T28's will make 600bhp on a Zed, almost maxing out and a little laggy, but yes ! The Pulsar range of Hybrid T28's is quite vast and many will far exceed 300bhp. cheers smithy
  7. Bloody Mystic this, drove home a few weeks ago and water gushed out the bottom of rad, got under and found the drain plug had snapped, some left in and some dropped off, picked the rest out with a nail and stuck a new one in, sorted :) Don't tell me this could be another Zed thing, right everyone check yer drain plugs with winter coming up ;) smithy
  8. Would be a bloody miracle if A T28 did, but we ain't talking A T28 it's A PAIR of t28's, each one needs to flow 300 bhp, that's why SE favour them, standard ones won't, but modified hybrids of T28 as fitted to Pulsars have recorded over 300bhp, FACT smithy

I know UK bulbs are H3's dunno about Jap spec and his listing for the Zed is the same bulbs as USA i think ? smithy
  10. Who done the work for yer Bazz ?? smithy
  11. Seperate for me, only reason being is as all the mods must know by now I am against non paid peeps coming on here from outta the blue and flogging either gear or a car (s) and trading. If the "For sale" section was made so that anyone posting goods to sell UNDER say A 100 quid, it can be open to any one, subscribed or not, but as soon as a mod spots something over 100 quid by a non member, it's deleated. At the end of the day paying 20 quid to flog yer bits and bobs and make some cash, is "cheap as chips" if we never see them again, which often happens, then the club has gained a few more coffers for it's funds. "Wanted" area for anyone as there can be no commercial gain. My tuppence worth ;) smithy
  12. Nope quite the opposite, Mac has A very GOOD affiliation with SE and has helped quite a few guys with their probs, including me, he seems to find out the truth and is there to help as liasons officer for traders alike including SE. So in short if anyone can find something out down there, HE CAN ;) Smithy
  13. I know if i was even thinking about spending the same amount of cash as this guy on an engine, it would be a Tomei one, built to your spec almost as well. You can se em on Takakari's website, very nice ;) smithy
  14. Dunno about N/A against a TT but i very much doubt it, BUT a MT will not swap with AT but it will the other way around. There is something in there for auto boxes. I would avoid that deffo. If you buy Car parts mart from WH Smith for 99p, company in there advertise ECU'S checked etc for 300's, they will also try and match your ECU model. smithy
  15. 01621 858856, Good luck :D smithy
  16. Looks well Jock, hopefully a few more N/A boys will follow suit ;) yer mind if i have that pic for me website mate ? cheers smithy:cool:
  17. Okay right well spending 12K at SE certainly puts you in a position of higher importance as a customer in my opinion and considering how far you've travelled most definately. They seem to have completed the first main job quite quickly it's just now the "after care" Mac 1 here as Traders liason officer seems to be able to help with customers at SE sort out any problems can i suggest you mail him with as much details as possible of your problems and ask if he can help, in the meantime you need to gather up all the info you have on conversations, phonecalls etc and prepare a letter to SE stating your facts and what you would like to happen, at the end of the letter state what you are prepared to do if you do not receive any satisfaction within say 7 days. If Mac is unable to get any better news for you, then send the letter to SE by RECORDED delivery. You can then honestly say you have given them a chance to rectify matters, still no joy, then as you say it is upto a lawyer to sort out for you and you have a copy of the letters you sent SE to pass onto to him. As for anyone here spending that amount on a rebuild and mods, i know of knowone on this forum. Good luck with this and i hope that Mac maybe able to help you. cheers smithy
  18. Oh gawd  erm tell us alittle of the problem as quite a few here have spent their hard earned cash at SE and hopefully we can offer some UNBIASED opinions or help and proceed from there. smithy
  19. Vigdal, unless your planning on coming over to the UK for a few months, then surely there must be someone in Norway capable of this, rebuilding the Zed engine is really no different to any other performance one, the complexity is more in the removal and refitting as far as i'm concerned. cheers smithy
  20. No i'm not on forged pistons, maybe one day though ;) i know where yer coming from as regards to high boost cos it cost me a few grand. When i bought my car it had a BRAND NEW short block fitted along with new tubs and reconned box, receipt for 6.5K for the above work and that was only 18months earlier before i bought it, now then after the guy had the work done, some 6 months later he had a boost upgrade, i bought the car a year after that. 10 months later i fitted an apexi boost gauge and seen it was 19psi  located the boost upgrade and ripped it out soon as i could, the very same week she was smokin for England, took it to RC Develoments for new tubs cos the last new ones came from the very same garage who done the boost upgrade, only to discover a number of oil leaks, engine stripped and mashed rings in a block only 18-20 months old from NEW  all redone, fuelling/timing checked and Super AFR set to keep things sweet, some 2 years or more ago now. so far so good and she's lasting longer than the last one ;) smithy
  21. C.J am on 18psi max on the same tubs as you, though i do have an EGT gauge and use this to set the HKS super AFR settings for correct fueling, which according to the guy who rebuilt my engine over 2 years ago is what's most important to run higher boost levels and still going strong ;) cheers smithy
  22. Getting back on track to yer serious question as you called it pete, what sort of cash you getting quoted for a decent pair of uprated coolers ? and what make ? smithy
  23. We could also if the numbers ain't great for the RR day in Jan, ask a few along to make up the numbers, should be quite easy to say match a GTO and Zed mod for mod and see who puts out what. cheers smithy
  24. I assume the brake light/light is also the INDICATOR ! US stylee  smithy
  25. subject to boat sailings from i.o.m i'm there too. cheers smithy
