  2. As far as i know it is mate, can double check if yer like though, if not how much we talking extra here, a few quid ? but 99.9% sure anyways, lol You want some mate ? smithy
  3. Am getting mine soon as well fella seeing as Duffers is gonna be stripping her down, £500 delivered, if yer don't get any cheaper let me know and will get you some too. cheers smithy
  4. With SE charging 700 quid all in for labour mate, not a bad deal at all. Garages tend to sell turbo's at full retail though, so best provide yer own if you can. Whilst the dollar makes buying from US attractive, don't forget to consider shipping of around $190 plus around 21% on that final total for duties/vat etc, but more importantly if something goes wrong, which it very easily can on a Zed, dealing with the company in US for exchange, back up or warranty can sometimes prove expensive and difficult. Pay yer 20 quid subs and you can buy the turbo's alot of Zedders here use and at their price. http://www.smithys-place.co.uk/300zx_turbo.htm Cheers and good luck smithy
  5. Not quite mate, look in my section of traders area or website for more info, but basically i send you some hybrids and you just post back by parcel force yer old knackered ones within 28 days. If yer pay yer 20 quid subs their slightly cheaper anyways, I believe the spec of mine make em cheaper than most too. cheers smithy
  6. The fact that it smokes when on idle and not when driving is the most common way to suspect turbo seal failure, it's oil seeping through when everythings come to a stop inside turbo. The fact it's only side could also suggest that just one has been done before, not uncommon, just foolish. SE do charge 700 all in for labour on turbo swap and endless choices of turbo's to choose from, recon your existing is not bad choice, but 99.9% just buy hrbrids for that extra few quid. Don't fall into the trap though of cheapest is best, as in the long run with labour costs being high, once there on they want to stay on ! so with de-catting, race spec stagger gap piston ring seals on the turbo's are the way to go. I believe am the only company in UK to offer these on Zed turbo's as STANDARD. Cheers smithy
  7. What BOV kit has he got ? that's a start fella. smithy
  8. There are shit loads of guys here with BOV's and all running perfectly well. Providing th eold recircs are disconnected properly, new ones connected properly, then yes they were work fine and each to their own if they wish to fit em. I only ever heard of one make that doesn't perform right or as good as stock and this kit are made by a tuning company down south,(UK) so none of the jap makes. Max from what i've heard, Turbo XS are the loudest mate if it's the loudest yer after. cheers smithy
  9. Hmm, okay nice pic of his engine, but we were pointed to the fact of the coolers and intakes, not his engine !! Maybe his friend in Japan mailed him step by step instructions on how to take a hacksaw to his intake tract, fit some silicone sleeve then a maf and cone ! Geez, it was only cos i spotted it as an American car and have seen quite a few US guys do the same thing for the past few years. So as i implied before GREAT IDEA  I think next time i'll say :nono: smithy
  10. He's as far away from C'J as possible, lol Those coolers mate were only copies of HKS ones, similar price gets you the Greddy's which are original and dont sit 3ins behind the indicator cluster. Shiping to Germany is no probs either. smithy
  11. The guys in the US show us the way again  have seen this set up few times before but without the 2 oil coolers in front, great idea as it reduces the intake tract, moves the AFM closer to turbo and thus increasing the pulsed airflow signal, great improvement Mac if yer thinking of going for it. The US guys call this CAI as i've done a number of these set ups for other Nissan's,they tend to fit an AEM valve before the maf to prevent water soakage though. smithy
  12. Like the idea of the sponge avatar for 100 posts, nice one mate. I've stated to Mods numerous times now am totally against non paid members being allowed to advertise in the forsale section, for free they get to sell their wordly goods, Z related or not, private or trader, this would stop if they paid 20 quid to join properly, if it didn't stop completly at least the club get some funds out of it, so in short "General section only" the rest for veiwing only. smithy
  13. But what work did SE do, something caused it as it's definately one for the record books this ! if we know what work then it could be possible thats it in someway related. smithy
  14. No reason at all for this pipe to rupture, stock or even more the fact it's a new silicone one. The battery idea is pretty feasible and would explain the bang as well, When yer car was at SE what work were you having done there, could they have removed battery ? removed this pipe and left it trailing down towards bottom of engine where it's hotter for a while ? alot of guys here have over 10M's of vacum lines on their cars with more pressure and far more heat than what's near that one, so somethings happened ! smithy
  15. Stu, each turbo has an oil feed, usually a small micro bore tubing from back of block and it has traces of oil in it, just whip em off, you'll be fitting new ones anyways but i am in a kinda hurry to get em down south, new ones made up and sent back up north by weekend, so pm yer address i'll bang a tenner in post to cover next day delivery and i'll return yer pm with address for posting. cheers smithy
  16. So does this mean the oil feeds are finally off then Stu ? Are yer ready for the address they are to go too ? cheers smithy
  17. Never noticed any loss of torque in me own, in fact torquey is some she always was, when shes running :-( smithy
  18. See this below fella, explains all. smithy
  19. Lite flywheel means she flys mate, lol seriously the less weight means the engine can rev far quicker than stock and improves the acceleration no end. Just a worthwhile mod when doing the clutch. You really should Skim the stock flywheel if keeping it when changing the clutch anyways, though many don't. smithy
  20. Vijay these are an extra 3.5mm, did go for 5mm but that was too much ! all yer doing is opening up the amount of free air able to flow through the pipework and TB's into the plenum, if yer have any gadgets that configure air/fuel ratios all the better. Mac mine were 165 quid the pair mate with new custom butterflies. done down south, I know when i went bigger TB's on me Silvia which was already tuned, she seemed some what more gruntier and pulled really well, bear in mind that was an 8V single turbo, but went well... smithy cheers smithy
  21. Good good, that's just what i like to here, your gonna have lots of toys to play with to get me motor running really sweet mate  smithy
  22. Bigger throttle bodies is a worthwhile mod IMO, far as i know though TT and N/A are the same size. The Zed TB's are infact about the smallest throughout the nissan range, guys in the US buy bored out ones on an exchange basis quite often and i don't know another TB that's compatible with the Zed for easy exchange, unlike many other models of nissan's that are, done the swap before on me other cars and have opted for bored out ones on me Zed this time round. smithy
  23. After all this talk on Wideband sensors etc thought i'd check out and see excatly what the LM1 kit was like, must say quite impressed with the quality of it all and it's contents when it arrived, so much so thinking of selling them. Would like to check it out on me motor, but alas i still don't have one :( But all in all, so far happy :) Cheers smithy
  24. Well if you want an RPS matey am yer man, however keeping them in stock is not easy so allow about 9 days for delivery if you decide to go down this route. Just email me if interested cheers smithy
  25. Mat, as Jun list pistons for our car (89mm) and state made by Cosworth then really this company should have em listed for yer. What would be good is pistons to suit the block as stock (no boring out) which i think is 87mm, so in short if he can find the specs of the Jun ones for Zeds, tell him "same as that mate, but 2mm smaller," lol smithy
