  1. sorry fook all to say  smithy
  2. Hi Rob, firstly no probs with yer clutch mate, oh and ECU, don't forget whilst turbo's maybe rated at what ever power, they will only achieve this if you use many other mods to release that potential, like i said my engine itself is stock apart from add on bits. Stock injectors are said to start maxing at around 15 psi ish and 400 odd brake, so it's claimed, i run 18psi though with a HKS super AFR and would be pretty pissed if i ain't got 400bhp. So in theory you would run lower boost on hybrids and still have the same power you had before on stocks, adding more stuff to the car to gain more power will see the hybrids, in fact any kind perform even better, as for when would you need to change internals/injectors, simply when and if you wanted more power from the engine, the turbo's would be ready to take it, if you didn't want to add any more bits like injectors or internals, then don't, these smaller hybrids at 1175 quid are only better performing T25's. Hope that helps, but there are certainly more clued up guys here than me, like Steve E, Duffers or Eric Lymon, so maybe they can explain more if yer need it. cheers smithy
  3. I have the turbo's sent direct to yerself or garage from TD and takes approx 4 or 5 days from the time i recieve payment. I know SE charge 695 for engine out, fitting and back in again, this probaly the cheapest i would imagine cos they have done so many and have certain tools just for the job, the other places i mentioned, give em a ring and ask for a quote is best. Shame RC may be too far for yer though, saying that i drove my car there with knackered rings and turbo's and no rear bumper or tailgate ;) long story that one :D cheers smithy:cool:
  4. Hi Simon, well i'l have ago ;) but to save on me typing i've just posted spec and price of the most common hybrids in my traders section for someone who asked about price, so check that out next. So that leaves the ball bearing T28 sized ones i mention above, which i have asked TD to supply some more info on to prove their worth, though hopefully another member here who has them AFTER using the HKS ones, may back this up further. I use these turbo's in my Zed and have awesome amounts of torque pulling power, TD designed them to spool up as quick as possible but still have enough puff in them to hold 600 bhp if you decided that you want to go that far with your engine, whilst at te same time if your not going mega power say around 400 -480 then they will happily go for a long time and provide enough grunt low down, my engine it self is stock, though quite a few add on bits electronically, de-catted and blitz exhaust, twin cones induction, so i know i can go further with me engine and each time benefit from the larger Turbo's, the quicker spool up is ideally suited to Auto's as well who when using other T28's suffer the most lag. They retail for £2350 a pair i sell them for £1920 delivered. average fitting is anywhere from £700 upwards depending if you have any other work done, places to go seem to be SE, Option motorsport (closer to you i think but pricey) Progress engineering, RC Developments who did mine and happy with, Duffers up at GPS and Hiteq near GPS who leave the engine in when going the turbo swap. So in short :D if it's more than mid 400's i recommend these, less than that my other ones in traders section have been very popular here and as mentioned above ALL TD turbo's for nissan's use the stagger gap/total seal piston ring to prevent future rear seal failure, which i know some others don't as members here have had to send theirs back quite soon after fitting. Hope all this helps, anymore, just mail me and i'll try me best. cheers smithy
  5. DPC in a wall should be the same height as the internal floor level ideally. If your doing a sub floor and a top floor screed in the garage then the DPC in concrete can be same height as the DPC in outside wall. Cheers smithy Oh a Mason for 11 years, along time ago ;)
  6. Oi mark, don't forget me roller bearing jobbies, tested to 600 bhp but designed and built by TD for totally minimal lag, oh and just a tad under 2k cheers smithy
  7. At the end of the day Stu as long as YOU feel happy with the money spent then that's all that matters, it certainly looks the biz now too. Shame SE didn't think yer leaking head was going into the cylinder area that had low compression, otherwise your bill would have been a bit smaller ;) did they give you the knackered Piston as a momento ? have seen a few now that guys make into a little kinda trophy to remember what cost em the earth to replace :D smithy
  8. Here's a pic of re-inforced manifolds for the kit. smithy
  9. Faisal, do you mean all the water hoses under the plenum ? or the hoses going to turbo only, if the former then you don't need engine out, just someone to lift plenum on and off for yer and replace all water hoses, if its the tubo pipes at back off engine then yes better it comes out and cost is around £700 upwards to remove and replace, but why do you think these need doing ? got problems ? you really only wanna pull the engine if you have too and should consider what else you can whilst out, if you did. smithy
  10. Nice one Stu, yer almost up there with Mac for having so many of me shiny bits on yer car ;) makes a change to see Blue though.. smithy
  11. Turbos turbos turbos doing my fookin head in ATM:confused: Gees it's like being a kid in a sweet shop, to much choice, lol PE 1420= no thanks! Don't blame yer Turbo Dynamics=No thanks! Bloody quick on spool up and hold the power, fact ! SE own T28 RB hybrid maybe? Don't forget your an Auto, think about it, why the difference in stock ones ? Looks like I am going with the Greddy TD05 18G so far:rolleyes: If yer got that cash, get your own made from TD or TT any size you want that fits, just quote yer power you want and how quick to get there and sorted, made to fit and a one off, Think Xmas has come early for you ;) smithy
  12. Now that's the kinda customer i'd like :D wel done stu and SE for showing how things can be done. So yer spent 1.8k on bits and bobs then 2.2k on labour for the engine pulled, heads re-done and valve work and polishing the plenum, oh and fitting the rose jointed bits ? just to give us some rough ideas on prices yer see. cheers smithy
  13. Go get yer timing light ot then fella, most upgraded ECU's/Chips settings are based on the car being at stock timing marks and as your not at the mo, possibly things are gonna improve even better once changed. smithy
  14. See no probs with that as 15 is stock anyways, just listen for any detting though just in case who ever set it at a lower range did so for a specific reason, smithy
  15. It can do, as yours is retarded it is to prevet detting at higher boost, but sometimes the main low down power is decreased, if you advance the timing, then low down power is increased, but detting higher up the revs is possible, stock setting 15 degrees is waht most people are on and if your gonna mess with it, try that first and listen for detting, only those who have had the SE boost upgrade i have known to have their timing retarded, so in short retatrd a little or go stock, but advance at your own risk ! smithy
  16. Mods please take note! Sorry to hijack yer thread fella, but your words highlighted i've been saying to some peeps. smithy
  17. Vinz, remove pasenger side footwell plastic panel, go out side car and remove couple of clips holding inner arch cover on below side repeater area, then in the engine bay go behind the battery. gromett is behind the platic trim in footwell, this goes behind inner arch, then up to a hole behind battery. smithy
  18. As far as i know there isn't really, Apexi intakes seem to have a hard rigid base that they use to put the bolts holes in for the various MAF designs, i was only asking Danny this very question the other day cos i fancied changing from the filters i use on my kit below, which yes is very much like the SE one, only it don't split on the seams and fits flat on the MAF ;) Oh the filters i have been using cost around 50-60 quid and are same build quality and design as Blitz and readily available. cheers smithy
  19. Thanks guys what ever yer got just mail it to me. Nick no don't change yer repeaters, i cut me bleedin finger doing yours :D and Mac, you got so much of my bits there, think it should be called a "smithy mac" motor ;) cheers smithy
  20. Just working on the final leg of me website and could do with the following pics if anyone is interested in seeing their car on my site. 1) A fairly stock looking Zed (bodywork wise) 2 nice clear pics from 2 different angles, but not too big. 2) Some engine pics of Zeds with my products on, don't matter if it's hard pipes, rad pipes, fuel line kit or Slam panel, looking for a gallery of customers cars. Mail me smithy@manx.net if you have any. cheers smithy
  21. 1990 UK model, mileage ? well a NEW 5 1/2 grand short engine was fitted at 79,000 then a bottom end rebuild 30,000 miles later and that was 15,000 miles ago, oh and a little couple bubbles are appearing on back drivers side rear arch, bit of a patter here me thinks  smithy
  22. That's a shame fella, posting details tonight on special offers for those buying kits with Blue silicone sleeves, rad kit would only have been 12 quid more delivered if blue's yer thing so to speak, lol smithy
  23. Delay.... that's normal for a samco non stocked kit and trust me when i say even then that's hopefully, hence why i no longer sell the kits and do me own. If your not looking for a genuine smaco colour which no company is allowed to copy, try Quickshift in Cheshire area, they do em i think, colour shades are just lighter than samco's. smithy
  24. Fuel lines are 7.9mm and most guys seem to buy 4mm and 6mm vacumm tubing, around 2metres of each does virtually all lines you can see. smithy  Oh if yer interested, i do the fuel line full kits anyway, these do away with ALL stock rubber and metal lines across the plenum. just check out my section in traders,
