  1. Erm thanks Fuggles.... mate :) see Martin has left the building now, call me sceptical but i think he's someone else undercover, going by an old post of his past 22, hmm You guys are only jealous the i.o.m is the place to race the zed at high speeds PAST COPS usually against bikes anyhow  Smithy
  2. For the cash mate, yer can't get better performing than these carbon kevlars http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=37027&referrerid=119 Just a couple of sets left in stock too :) cheers smithy
  3. Peter Duke from Duke video over here has track days about every 2 weeks through the summer period, all on an old airfield too :) only costs about 90 quid a day or 50 quid for half day sessions and as many runs as you like. Often get car clubs doing weekend stints over here for track running and run what yer brung days, all good fun and been down a few times now with the Zed, blew me tubs there 1st time around 3 years ago  smithy
  4. I think Scoops has raised another great idea Mike, that's 3 now so far. any thoughts on these fella as this kinda confused me too, hence the questions started how come matty was banned and with marks involvement, seems most of us thought he was just a noraml member ?? cheers smithy
  5. Am simply asking a question mark, because i guess the sticky Andrew put up in the other section as to who's who doesn't list you, think maybe this should be updated with current list of who the mods/commitee members are and when their roles are up for election next. But honestly again from memory i thought you were on the commitee and left some time this year and now see your back on, simple enough mate just curious as to what's what. ta smithy
  6. Well that just put the kybosh on those ideas then i guess :p Mark i know your on the commitee now,(obviously) but i thought you packed it in a little while ago ? how come yer back fella ? smithy
  7. Another brill idea IMO from C'J see what i mean Mike this thread has brought out 2 excellant ideas already, both would keep the peace and show there is nothing to hide, it also keeps up the ole communication side of things. Maybe the commitee could look at these and discuss how to do it ? Now all we need is a responce as to how matty got banned from his posting in the fightclub and the world would be a better place :-) maybe with hindsight he should be re-instated seeing as it was an unmoderated area ? cheers smithy
  8. I like the idea mate a forum for the traders to discuss ideas/problems etc with mods, after all they have theirs, good idea that man :-) it would have prevented the bad feeling i have that's for sure. cheers smithy
  9. Thanks for the input scotty, however i've already tried the ole dog + bone mate and that was way before this was brought up. If you look closer at the threads being posted before this one you will see i was ASKED by topless to explain my problems, which i did and it just took sometime in getting the answers. Unfortunatel am a person that doesn't like to see people victimised in anyway and glad to see you think the idea of mattys ban as wrong, am just asking why is there a need for all these bans of late and i hope that in the future when something does effect you which at some point it will, your posts don't suddenly disappear or you yourslef are threatend just for putting your personal opinion across on any subject. Oh and just one last point, even though mattys thread didn't start in fight club, the MODS moved it there so that it may continue without risk of moderation, he only added i think one post last night and that was the nail clincher. Trust me there is more to this that you are assuming thanks smithy
  10. Hopefully from threads like this Mike some constructive comments are made in how make some areas even better perhaps, who knows. As your readily supplying information Ryan has asked a valid question in that how was matty banned after his posts in an unmoderated section, a free for all if you like an area created where you can say what you want without the risk of any come back. Was it more a case of he upset yourself or mark or both and then mark banned him with your backing perhaps ? we really can't go round on egg shells fella through fear of upsetting a mod cos if we do we're banned and or our posts deleated. I think the point some guys have or are trying to make here, moderation is good to have but we all believed it was there to protect the CLUB from outside/libelous action etc, NOT from each other the guys who go drinking together at biling and meet up to talk Zeds through out the year. The mods are well appreaicated for their efforts in protecting the club and the traders from illeagal trader posts but why does it need to further between ourselves, i think someone needs to lighten up on this mate and i think others agree. cheers for your replies so far. smithy
  11. You really surprise me Stu, you really do.... Mike is down as IT and host provider i was not 100% aware if he was able to go around banning people and deleating threads he didn't like, so i asked if he was able to simple as that ! I wanted a more clearer outlook on what happens around here and now i have it, end off on that one. But lets not forget and i assume am right we the club pay Mike for his hosting services whilst at the same time he gives a great deal of his time for free and that is appreaciated by all including myself however he is not alone many of us have done a great deal for the club, neither of us need reminding of that thanks. I have to ask myself this though and am sure many ask it themselves, BEFORE there was so much moderation and commitee set up, how many people were banned or had their posts deleated ? unfortunately i don't have access to that information but with a reasonable good memory i would say far less grief over 2 years ago compared to now. Finally no am not trying to start anything between the mods/commitee and members a "them and us" scenario can't help what the picture paints though fella simple as.. This started in my failing to understand the reasoning around Matty being banned, who's next ? good ole timmy turbo who lets face it by his sense of humour has come out with some pretty near the edge stuff, but then i guess it will probably be me for daring to ask questions regarding my concerns, but hey i've only been here many many years and given great service to hundreds of people including you, many things for free, oh and again for you. We don't need a competion to see who has the highest horse mate, we need a commitee that doesn't sometimes appear to act in a draconian way ! Personally i would like to see a list of all those banned and deleated in past 18 months compared to years ago, better still would be who by. thanks for the input though. smithy
  12. Thanks for that answer Mike now i know you do have moderators rights that was all i was really interested in and explanins further for me. Yes i knew all the rest hence that's why i put down what i thought you did. Oh and one last thing, as a paid up member, it is for me or anyone else to ask fella. again thanks enlightend smithy
  13. As the title says guys, i have never felt so dishearted with this place as i do now and i know am not alone. I assumed a club with members who paid their dosh meant they were looked upon as stake holders if you like, therefore it is WE who own it, though not forgetting Craig who is the boss man who created it :p With that in mind it beggers belief at some of the things that go on around here, for those of you following Matty's and then my own problems in the fight club you will see that trying to get answers from those appointed by US the members is somewhat of a trying time, don't get me wrong in general it all runs smoothly and i have a great deal of respect for some of those who give up their time to help run the club. However i now this place as going beyond reasonale moderation at times and more like being draconian policed  I have just heard that a VERY long standing member Matty has been banned for 2 weeks as it was suggested he is causing trouble ?? what's this then ? have any of you fellas complained that Matty is a trouble maker ? this guy has been on this forum a long time and has given a great deal back, yer couldn't find a nicer bloke and i have to say am gobsmacked with this action against him, even i've been threatend with a Ban ! what's all this then with what authority are bans imposed by what rights ? things are going to far it's almost at the stage that if you upset the wrong person, yer off ! With suddenly deleated posts and threats. As for Jafftt's posts threads and long standing issues, well there's no point in even going there. Am not wanting to cause trouble, enflame any trouble but have got to ask what on earth is happening to us. F.A.O Mike groves, a straight question for you. What EXCATLY is your role in this club and what authority do you have ? I believed it is nothing more than you are the provider of our bandwith and have no authority to do Admin or mod what is posted on the forums. Please confirm. A very disgruntled smithy
  14. That's alright fella, he had me thinking for a while there too :p Think i have enough on me plate without getting into sosmeone elses products :p :p smithy
  15. simple mate, tell yer garage to buy em direct from me, then they will be supplying em :) :) cheers smithy
  16. Thanks mate :) thing is though i don't deal brake lines, ain't done for years i usually reccomend Danny for these. cheers smithy
  17. My car when i bought it (5 years ago) already had the fan shroud removed, it was an ex SE customers car and it was they who had removed it, they also removed my fan shroud on 2 previous cars i owned and i know countless other customers cars too, which to me says it's no real biggie providing everything else is upto scratch. Also quite a few US guys have removed theirs as well. Bare in mind those who run an aftermarket electric fan set up in place of the viscous fan seem to have no probs either and report that the electric fan hardly needs to come on without any over heating problems. As ever this shows one thing i learnt some time ago about the Zed, no matter what the mod or improvement you do to your Zed it never gaurantees the same result on another persons Zed :) cheers smithy
  18. Cheers guys. Driving around in Fords for the past 7 months was not my idea of fun  Hopefully more updates with pics soon :) cheers smithy
  19. Well just 2 days to go and after 7 months waiting, Duffers tells me this sunday i'll be a Zed owner again :) After blowing a piston at THOR she's now got wiseco jobbies, new oil + water pump, PE cam belt, nismo 555's, full Greddy E-manage with optional sensor harnesses, LM-1 Wideband 02 sensor kit, SGP underdrive pulley, twin Apexi induction kit, the BB t28's got new cartridges fitted with uprated actuators, greddy SMIC, howe rad and electric fan all topped off with a shiny shiny plenum and other bits of bling ;) Next task is to try and get around a 1000 miles in before the next RR day at Thor, bit hard when yer live on an Island 37 x13 miles  so driving day and night it is :p Am all booked on the ferry home sunday night, my baby here i come  cheers smithy
  20. Stu, depending on if your a jap spec or UK spec but only one is different, it should be A/C A192M-42LSAVW, ALT A195M-97EOMUW ,P/S 11950-32F10 Gates belts are also easily available from your local motor factors, do a search on TT.net and it will bring the gates numbers up. Strange to be too short mate, if anything i would expect too long with only one belt too short if your a UK model. cheers smithy
  21. Whoa, yer oil feeds are the same diameter Rossy, the advantage of braided ones for yer BB jobbies is ease of fitting, ease of removal, ease of fitting any attachements into the line, plus the obvious you should always replace oil feeds when swapping turbo's and the braided ones come out cheaper than stock and require no modification to fit. BB turbo's should run either same or lower oil amounts through lines, i posted this a couple of weeks ago in a similar thread. Oh and this applys to BB turbo's only. Hope that helps fella ;) Stu, dunno how you can do this now yer engine is already out, BUT from an old case of early turbo failure it was determined as slight oil starvation by attaching a gauge to each oil line as it came out of the block to see if there was differences in pressure and flow and in this case there was, dunno how it was solved cos now yer getting down into the block, but an idea anyhow. smithy
  22. Car was de-catted 6 months before i bought it, fitted Blitz realize system and 3 months later tubs were blowing for England  Rear piston ring on the back of turbo does require a certain amount of back pressure to maintain a seal. It is mainly 3 factors that shorten the life of this ring seal, 1) age of turbo's, most stock ones still on the car now are years old. 2) De-catting lessens the amount of back pressure. 3) fitting an after market exhaust system that is not designed to maintain back pressure, (usually jap ones) so it is mainly when all 3 of these apply to your car that the ring seal goes, however it is not uncommon to have failure from just 1 or 2 of the above, just not as likely. I think your tubs were SE hybrids anyways wern't they Mac ? hence why they were holding out and as well as a healty breathing engine ;) cheers smithy
  23. Fingers crossed for yer mate, mines due back in next few days too ;) must be next week for Zeds being returned to their rightful owners  See Duffers ragged his clutch and loves it, so you should be able to sit there just burnin rubber :D smithy
  24. He's cool mate, mail him and say smithy sent yer as i told yer he'll look after Zed boys, you might just get a few bob off :) smithy
  25. Fraid not mate, simply cos whilst both my suppliers will supply them the wait can in some cases be embarassing and as so many colours are available the cost to me to stock a range in would be too expensive. I know of no other retailer who will stock them for this very reason either. The 102 quid paid is quite a good price though and when they come through will look the part, so well done. The ONLY very minor downside with silicone intake pipes is though, being made in 3 ply they can suck in on high boost applications, this is not directed at just the Zed, it's pretty much across the board, so don't be alarmed mrogers :) cheers smithy
