  1. Very, very good news chap! :D :D :D
  2. Yes mate. On Tiscali (for my sins, though hopefully not for much longer! :() and I can use Google Earth. Leigh
  3. Oops! Didn't notice I'd posted it in here! Can some kind mod please move it? Ta! :D
  4. I know it's a repost but Steve at Bodywork Plus sent me this (nice one mate! :D) and I p1ssed myself laughing all over again so I thought it deserved another airing! Brace yourselves people and get ready to give your twangers a good plucking while playing with your balls...:D http://www.ebaumsworld.com/rainbowkidsshow.html
  5. When it goes in it'll be posted on here and in my Journal mate, no worries ;) Don't think it'll be just yet though as I need to buy a few more things for the engine and fork out for a bespoke airbag system from Rayvern Hydraulics! Did someone say money pit? Lol! :D
  6. I don't know but I'm planning on finding out! :D
  7. As far as screens for engine monitoring/DVD playback and replacing the clocks etc this two threads I posted might be of some help: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=50496 http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=48440 The trouble with replacing the clocks is getting it fast enough to be useable. HOWEVER! ;) There is a solution that I'm probably going to use myself (in for a penny, in for a pound and all that! ;)): http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=56001 Check out the 1st link in my 4th post (the 2nd doesn't work anymore) and also this one: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_4025_192089326,00.html ...Nice isn't it!? You can pick them up quite cheaply from America as well...;) The car's coming on really well thanks mate. Steve is doing an amazing job on the bodywork...had a text from him the other day saying the next time I see her I'll cry! I'm pretty sure he mean't that in a good way! Lol! :) My mate in Japan who supplied me with the VH has got friends in Top Secret(he even offered me two of their cars, their new V35 Infiniti show car and the R35 that held the Jap 400 metre record...he must think I'm made of money...wrong! :D) and he's trying to get Steve and I a space somewhere at the next years Tokyo Auto Salon show which alongside John and I's tentative ly planned trip to the Nurburgring Ring and the rest of the show season, it's going to make 2006 a pretty exciting year hopefully! :) Leigh
  8. I would if it was finished chap! :D Although all the audio gear is here, the computer side of things is still being spec'd up and put together by a mod from one of the in-car computer forums. Although I haven't spoken to him for a bit as he's recently got married and gone on honeymoon which has put a temporary halt to things...how inconsiderate of him! :p ;)
  9. Meh. Having no luck finding them. You got a web address for them Mark as I'd like to have a butchers at their site if they've got one! :D
  10. I thought that's what roughly what I was saying!? :D ;) Say between £7000- £11000 for either a basic or a more elaborate build then 3-4000 for a top quality paint job. That comes out between £10000-15000 :) Mind you, their price includes the audio build which can be a PITA as well so that's a pretty good actually! Never heard of them before either...about to do a search...:D
  11. Yep. I can speak from both sides of the fence as I've done a lot of fibreglass work such as custom dash design and enclosures for audio equipment but my car is also currently having some major custom work done over at Bodywork Plus (a trader on here). Although Steve has a basic shape to work with, he is essentially scratch building a complete (and radical) front and rear wide arch kit. People like Steve could make something from nothing but it really is better to give them at least a base to work from. Please bear in mind though that both methods will cost thousands, and I don't mean £2-3000, or even £4-5000...if they even have the time to do it (it's sooooo labour intensive and time consuming), a full kit, designed, built and fitted will be getting on for and probably going over 5 figures...and that's before the respray! ;) Leigh.
  12. I'll make sure I direct Lucie towards this thread as soon as she comes back from Latvia, Rich...well, maybe not straight away...afterall we'll have some catching up to do first...:D (and no jokes at the back there about that only taking 5 minutes thank you! ;)) Leigh
  13. Daft ain't it! :D That's one mini owner with a SERIOUS inferiority complex! :D
  14. The suspension might need fettling a little more to cope but.... :D ;)
  15. PMSL! :D Forgot to ask how your knee was mate after yesterday...dropping an engine on your leg didn't look like fun...and if anyone's going to hobble round here it's me! :D ;)
  16. I know mate! :D It's difficult to believe it's about 100lb lighter than the VG!
  17. TBH they're not going to be completely on view once the Busa bodies and intake system is on (which will look pretty damn good itself) and looking at it I reckon chroming it may be overkill. Think I'm going to have to strip them back and make a proper job of it! Rich and Sarge, you're always welcome over guys (shame you ain't a bit closer Greg! :D)! Might have to have a "firing up" party when she's eventually together...won't be any time soon though, got a helluva lot of work left to do!
  18. Ta! :D TBH, I only sprayed up the rocker covers quickly (muchos orange peel and reactions!) as I'd more or less decided to get them in an acid bath to strip off the original powder coating before getting them chromed but seeing them on, the black looks pretty damn good! Might have to do them again properly when I do John's...decisions, decisions...:)

Orange, orange, orange, orange. Did I mention it would be better in orange Si? Get it in, and get it on! :D ;)
  20. Some photos of the end result of yesterdays work (apologies again for the poor quality camera phone pics!). Had John, myself, his brother Mike and his mate Rich all working on it (thanks again guys!), with a visit from Danny and Eric Lymon to pick up Johns old engine...literally! Nearly had a hernia just watching John, Mike and Rich manhandle it into the van, steadfastedly refusing to use the hoist despite much grunting, swearing and banging of extremities! :D ;)) Between the four of us working on our own sections we got things together very quickly. Only bugger was we found we were missing the bolts from the exhaust cam sprockets so we had to fall back to a temporary fit rather than a finished job as originally planned but even so, she's looking mighty fine if I do say so myself! Leigh
  21. The article in full...quite a good read :) http://www.tiscali.co.uk/motoring/roadtests/roadtests/section2/277.html As I've said before, I think they're a cracking car that ticks all the boxes: Performance, styling, handling etc. etc. So...Zed vs Noble M12 GTO -3R...well as much as I love the Z32 (one of the best Japanese cars ever made IMO alongside the RX7 and Honda NSX) I'd choose the Noble every time. Now...V8 powered Z32 vs Noble M12 GTO -3R...well that's a more tricky prospect...isn't it Mark!? ;) :D Ahem!
  22. What can I say? I'm bored waiting for John and his bro to arrive so we can start the engine rebuild proper! :D
  23. Honestly? The image is really good but the copy is way too much "purple prose"...TBH it made me cringe just a little bit. It seems too over the top, if you know what I mean? the majestic Himalayan ranges edged by an endless stretch of golden sandy beaches the lush forests of Assam we create mouth-watering recipes to tantalise your taste buds which embodies the timeless mystery, and infinite beauty of India On their own, the sentences work just fine but all together it's overkill. Lose a just a couple of the unecessary adjectives and adverbs and it should read a lot better. I have to say I also have a slight problem with the final tag line. We bring mystery, we bring culture, we bring spice, we bring… India 2 u This is the clincher, the important message you're trying to get across that sums up exactly what you're about. You say you're bringing "mystery" and "culture", really going for the whole ancient, learned and mystical vibe, but then you seem to linguistically contradict yourself and spoil it all by using a name that is composed of "Text-Speak", something that is ultra modern and which, although probably a better representation of how English is actually spoken, is considered by many as being a cultural scourge that strips words of their colour, vibrancy and heritage till you're left with their very barest essentials. The exact opposite of the feeling you're trying to create in your dialogue with the customer. But hey, that's all only my opinion (and you did ask ;)), and from reading the comments above, others like it! :) My consultation fee is in the post  :D ;)
  24. Lol! I can't help it if my dad put 'em all in the same box! What are you complaining about! Huh! That's the gratitude I get. I scrub and clean every day, and do you think he takes any notice...? Nooooooooo...it's too shiny, he says, I like it dirty, he says...well he's not having it dirty from me, I can tell you! ... ... ... Medic! ... I think the drugs are wearing off!   ;)
  25. Hey, if you're free you're more than welcome to come round mate! Mini meet at mine! :D ;)
