Big thanks to Si (pk1)
Huge thanks to Si for sorting me out with a fantastic Ideq system. After being delivered on Tuesday I've spent the week getting to grips with it and it really is everything I need in a computer. With the two 250Gb HD set-up, I've now got the luxury of having my photo manipulation, video editing, games and other stuff on one drive and the other kept purely for audio recording. If anyone's considering a new home system I can't recommend Si highly enough. Not only does he really knows his stuff, he's a top bloke to boot! (and he even managed to keep calm whilst guiding a Luddite like me through things on the phone! :D) Thanks again mate! :duffer: Leigh

Heavily outnumbered by the "Strosek" copies but...me to ;)

Polishing the plenum
Been thinking about it this morning and I could probably do the polishing for less than £200 if someones genuinely interested :)

Polishing the plenum
Lol! It's my plenum! It IS possible to get a decent finish but make no mistake, it's an ABSOLUTE ballache to do, you'll end up with flayed hands and will take a hellishly long time! (FunkySi, sorry mate, just realised I never answered your post on this topic...things have been a bit up in the air over here recently and only just getting back on track!). If someone wanted one done I'd "possibly" consider doing it (saying possibly as I've kinda grown attached to the skin on my hands again! ;) :D) if they could supply one but TBH I'd have to charge about £200 purely for the time and effort involved.

Happy Birthday pk1!
Happy Birthday Si! :)

Pneumatic Suspension
In your humble opinion obviously ;) Of course coilovers are better, I'd never dream of argueing any different but to say it's a "silly car park mod" is a gross generalisation. If you read up on the subject in a bit more detail you'd know that air suspension is a developing market with a lot of major players becoming interested (just ask RUF, Mercedes and TEIN, three random examples) and the technology is getting better and better all the time. If it allows you to drive over speed bumps without demolishing the front end I see that as being pretty practical (particularly when your custom kit and paint job is costing a five figure sum ;)). As I've also said, ideally I'd prefer the Roberuta system but after a year of researching the different applications, with the correct set-up I'd be happy to go down the air bag only route.

I wouldn't rule airbags entirley out of the equation. They won't be as good as a decent coilover set-up, that's a given, but there are companies out there that are making systems that are designed for sports car rarther than sedan rides. The best way at the moment IMO is to go for a custom four point solenoid system. A.I.R. in the States is about to release the next gen of computer controls which gives more flexibility of adjustment and incorporates automatic levelling while on the move, a big step forward in the pursuit of better handling (they also test out their systems on the track as they are very aware that their products need to perform well in the handling department and not just for looks)

Stand alone or piggy back
http://www.emeraldm3d.com/ Like John I'm going for an M3DK system from Dave as well. Excellent system and a top notch guy who really knows his stuff. He's over in Watton, Norfolk. Leigh

Pneumatic Suspension
Definately will mate! :) Yup, I know what you mean. I live in the middle of traffic calming hell (had the exhaust ripped off the Sh1tter, my daily driver, the other week) and as much as I'd love to just have a top-end coilover set-up, it's just not practical around here...bloody council!! :( Eric, thanks for that link, looks like they definately do one for the Z32 then! I ran the page through Babel Fish as most of the text was illegible...and to be honest afterwards it was still pretty illegible! Lol! ;) It looks like they only sell a kit for the front (not a problem), that the ride height can be adjusted by 75mm (although in practice, with the camber corrected it is more like 70mm) and it should take 2 seconds to rise completely, although working from sentences like these I wouldn't stake my life on it! Originally, Z height to be low, rubs the normal height, front bumper there was a thing which, but because it is possible, to increase the largest 7.5cm height by the fact that コレ is installed damage of the unexpected bumper and breakdown around the stomach can be evaded. Because it is height pitch exclusive use, around the foot of normal you cannot install. At the end of the review he recommends the system very highly as well. Leigh EDIT: BTW, couldn't find the plug-in needed to view what I presume are the two movies on there...

Might be taking the "Roberuta" route myself (another link for you: http://www.topsecretjpn.com/roberuta.shtml) as you get the benefit of in-car adjustable ride height without having to sacrifice the handling. I made some enquiries through my mate in Japan last year but at the time the kit was a lot more than a grand. If that's now the price for a complete system I'm seriously tempted to get it as it would save going down the custom route which is what is so far being planned.

pics of your desktop?
Si, like I just said on the phone not only does that look amazing, the whole system sounds like it's going to be phenomenal! Seriously chap, it's really appreciated! Leigh

Some pic's of progress to bodywork
Will have a look for the fuel filler photos as soon as I can mate. These arches and the rest of the bodywork aren't based on the "Strosek" copies though (which themselves are more angular than the original Strosek kit), they're a completely new approach to a wide arch Z32. My original designs were heavily influenced by the DTM race series but incorporating a more organic feel, moving away from kits that looked too "bolt-on". The entire project is trying to accentuate the lines on the Z32 rather than replace them, trying to make the kit look as "factory fitted" as possible. We'll all know if it's worked soon enough! ;)

Some pic's of progress to bodywork
Can dig out some pics of the process if you want chap. It's not that difficult THB :) Yep, a few early pics of the build being sorted by Steve at Bodywork Plus. Everything is totally custom which is a challenge to say the least. Should be more than worth it when she's finished though :)

Some pic's of progress to bodywork
Or alternatively, for an ultra-smooth look, lose the filler cap entirely and relocate it to the boot. Just a thought but it worked for me :) Leigh

advice on bass please
FWIW, I highly recommend The ARC/KAR audio range (I'm using them myself). Not long ago they brought out the "Flatline" which I reckon will suit your needs ;) Check out http://www.nearfieldaudio.co.uk/. If you like what you see give Matt a bell and say that Leigh with the 300ZX at Bodywork Plus sent you. He's a great chap who REALLY knows what he's talking about and is heavily involved in the competiton/demo car scene, rather than just a salesman who's only concerned with reaching target figures. HTH Leigh.

Top bloke and quality workmanship...Rob mate, they really are the business! :D Hope my old bumper is working out ok and don't forget to PM/email me with your details so I can sort the rest out for you bud ;) Leigh

Re-siting washer jets: options?
Cheers :) I customised it from a 99 spec front bumper. De-swaged and widened the front air dam to bring it level with the top of the lights.

First Fireup.......... :-)
^^ Lol! I couldn't ask for a neater explanation of one of the reasons we're not on here so much if I'd tried! ^^ Hey, at least no threats of physical violence this time which I guess is an improvement! :D
