  1. Nice one Mark. Good to see it coming together after you're run of bad luck! :)
  2. None whatsoever, ta very much :D
  3. Totally forgot to post the pictures of the fuel filler relocation for you mate, sorry about that! Thought I had more but this one at least shows the final position. Essentially the pipe was cut and rotated 90 degrees from the stock position so it surfaces near the lower edge of the boot opposite the relocated (deep cycle) battery. I'll be finishing it off with an ally cover set into a fibreglass surround.
  4. Being a partial insomniac I almost always find myself awake at stupid o'clock in the morning even when I know I have to get up early (a bit of a rare occurrence in itself as those that know me will testify to!). Tonight's no exception: despite knowing I should be in bed to get an early start to drive over to Kidderminster and pull an engine I can't get my head down for love nor money so decided to take myself down the workshop (handily at the bottom of the garden) and plug away at the bumper I decided to custom build from scratch a couple of months ago (I also have no sense of reality which helps when taking on hairbrained projects :D). Managed to finish off a bit that's been bugging me for a while but all the time I had the nagging feeling that I must be wrong in the head for digging out the fibreglass and plastics after 12pm! Anyone else out there daft enough to work on their car at stupid times of the night? I think I need therapy...ok, more therapy.
  5. Had one of mine bead blasted externally and internally (as far in as they could get) for £50 by a company local to me. I now take all my metalwork/engine covers etc to them as the results are superb.
  6. Meh. You know my favorite already: I might be thinking of selling them (http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=70375) but if they went they'd be replaced by a virtually identical set! Lol! ;)
  7. Congrats and nice work Pete! ;) :D :D
  8. Happy Birthday you old bugger! (Mind you, I guess I'm closer in the race to the big 3 0 so I really should keep my trap well and truly shut :D) Hope the suprise night out went well! ;)
  9. I have seen the Nismo kitted one in the flesh (over in Tylesley, Birmingham just down the road from me) and the kit and fitment is terrible. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole TBH. They were selling another Zed that had the cover above the lights removed exposing the usual indentations in the metal work. I happened to mention it and the seller (trade) said it was a body modification!! :slap:
  10. Once the Zed is finally done, with a little luck (and a few sponsors ;)) I'm hoping to take part in 2008. I've been watching the Sky coverage and it looks fantastic...as long as you don't forget your document! Lol! :D
  11. Can anyone recommend a good website/supplier of aftermarket lights? I'm after some 4"-6" round fog lights for a Z related side project I'm working on. I've had a look through Demontw@ts' motorsport catalogue and there's a couple that could be useful but I'd like to check elsewhere just in case. Looking for something cheap rather than a full on race/rally spec unit at the moment. Cheers, Leigh
  12. And it still makes my eyes water Pete! :D
  13. Yup, according to the review I read, it wasn't built with a view to putting it into production more as an excercise for their designers and as Saab is a GM brand I'd guess the chance are even slimmer :( Mind you it also mentioned that several designers of well known companies had been nosing round the Acrylic guage technology so expect that to make an appearance sometime soon...
  14. Found this the other day and fell in love...I was even more suprised to find out it was made by Saab. The Aero X might not be everyones cuppa cha but I'm liking the clean, aggressive lines, the wraparound windscreen (not to mention the way it opens) and the interior with those acrylic guages is amazing. Discuss :) (See more at http://www.saab.com/microsites/aero_x/GLOBAL/en/index2.shtml)
  15. Rob, only got back in last night after a weekend away and just seen this thread. How someone can do that is beyond me and I'm truly gutted for you bud. REALLY hope you find out who did this. Leigh
  16. Make that 2 ;) :D Less work/money if you go down my route ie uprated cams and less extreme headwork. But not that much lol! :D
  17. If you don't decide to go agricultural (don't hit me Manta! :D :x: ;) ) I can get hold of good, low mileage VH45DE's for about half the price you'd normally pay ;) Just don't turbo it, ok? ;)
  18. To add a little to Peachs' informative post, have a look at my post HERE (#10) which expands upon the requirements needed to stay small but legal. HTH Leigh
  19. Nice car :) I have a big soft spot for Mk2's and would love to get one, smooth it out and put some fat little wheels on it! Lol! :D
  20. I'll paint it for you Dave ;) :D (about to start painting Zeds and other cars) As an artist myself (feel free to insert the word p1ss Lol!) I like that, nice work!
  21. Looks great but you're definately going to have a problem with traffic calming measures and steep ramped multi storey car parks will be a thing of the past! I've been in the same situation myself when my car was lowered on Bilsteins and that was when the exterior was standard. With the custom kit I don't want to risk the inevitable damage which is why I'm negotiating a Roberuta system to fit over adjustable coilovers (definately the front, possibly the back as well)
  22. Chrikey chap, don't worry about it! :) If everyone thought the same it would be dull, dull, dull and it doesn't bother me in the slightest! Oh...and you're wrong by the way. Just thought you should know. LMAO! :x: ;) :D
  23. Philistine! Lol! And in your humble opinion obviously ;) :D
  24. For those who like the 99 spec, a bit of customisation involving widening the mouth and some de-swaging, and you get a bit more of an aggressive look (see sig). The addition of moulded in custom canards and front splitter also helps ;)
  25. No wiper on mine either. Haven't missed it to be honest, mainly because the limo tints on the rear window make visibility a bit of a bugger anyway! :D
