  1. Have you checked your oil level and when did you last have an oil change? Sounds like lifters in the video, but the zed can trick your mind lol. VVT springs iirc will be noisy at about 2.5-3k revs not on tickover, the O2 sensors look to be disconnected, which wont cause the tapping. Has it got gradually worse as ou drove to your folks place?
  2. As much as you want to save really, from the engine and box to the interior, lights, targas, rubbers, trims, depends if you have room to store it, have the time to do it. If you plan on getting another one, if this isnt a viable repair, then think what you would like to swap over to the other zed. Option 2 break it and sell whatever you can to recoup some money and plough into the next one. As much as i would like to save every zed from the scrap heap, there has to be a cut off point to what is viable. If you can get as much out of the insurance as close to your needs, get another zed that is structurally sound and add or swap over the best bits from your old one, may save time and heartache down the road. Only you can decide really, some of us are attached to the zed as a labour of love, some not so.
  3. What was wrong with the paint for you to have to go back to those extremes?
  4. I'm hoping mine's ready in time, i went to the bodyshop today and its still in the same place and untouched since last Tues  though he has promised he is making a start on Monday :scared:
  5. Well you can make a more informed decision when you hear back from the insurance, meanwhile if its been seen by the assessor and its in your possession i would start stripping it, either way it will need to be done to be repaired or scrapped.
  6. WTF i thought you were having a few little bits done lol
  7. Im gutted for you mate, its not a nice sight to see your pride and joy in that state, at least you were not hurt.
  8. I feel your pain Del, left mine at the bodyshop last tues before i went on my holiday, i popped in today expecting to pick up the wing mirrors to put back together and was absolutely pissed at seeing it parked exactly where i left it before i went, with nothing done. He has promised it will be done by wednesday, but doesnt leave me much time to sort the trims and bits.
  9. Looks like the side bracket inside the bumper needs bending in slightly, most are rusted and do bend easily, it should bring the side of the bumper in. Its the single 10mm bolt as you look inside the arch liner.
  10. Dont bother with those faces, they are not what you need, the UK spec reads in MPH and the dial reads upto 180mph, the jap reads in KPH and reads upto 180Kph, also you would need to take off the needles to change the face over and thats very hit and miss and more likely to bugger the spindle and not get it back in the right place as it usually needs to be done under load, ie ign on/powered up. A good convertor from a member or the zed centre, a few ebay jobbies have been found to be unreliable or not work as they should. If you can get a set of proper UK clocks :thumbup1:
  11. I picked up a cheap runaround, Renault Megane Scenic while mine goes into the bodyshop and also can use it for tip runs, shopping etc.. i thought it would be cheap as chips to insure, how wrong was i lol Its a T 1999 piece of poo, but because it has the word 'sport' in the name its a higher risk car  i said, what, higher risk then a 3 litre V6 sports car thats been imported? Go figure lol one company wanted nearly £480 TPFT, another £387 TPFT :whistling: I paid £255 for the zed last month. Its bloody worthless, i only paid £300  So i managed to get a mirror policy for the no claims and insured the zed and the Megane, which worked out at £285 extra, still annoying, still a rip off in my eyes, but had no choice, already booked the ferry, airport parking with the new car and bodyshop booked for tomorrow for the zed. I dont know how some people can insure 3 or more cars and be worth while, i dont get how they think lol Rant over:biggrin:
  12. That looks much better Lee, really neat
  13. Thread now closed as the arse licking is now complete
  14. Ebay, type in spigot rings and choose the ones you need, i have to remeasure the inside diameter of the alloy it was about 72.3 or 73.5 i cant remember now lol
  15. Yes they are plastic, you most likely had them anyway, i only mention it as mine cracked and without give me brake judder at around 60mph, so ive got to get some new ones.
  16. Thought you might lol, i had my tracking checked after i had fitted them and it was still the same, so i would say your tracking will be fine, but as you are extending the diameter of the axle, you may need to have the camber or toe checked at some point, but you wont notice any difference, will still handle the same. Make sure you have the spigot rings fitted though as the decorsa alloys have a larger bore diameter about 72.5mm compared to the 66.1mm hub.
  17. Welcome to the club :thumbup1:
  18. Injector range is 10-14ohms, so is out of spec, to eliminate the O2 sensors, disconnect them and the ECU will run on a means setting.
  19. Is that the one who came to Holland with you? Cant remember her name lol
  20. Welcome to the club and wow been stored for that long, glad you ve made the decision to get her back up to scratch :thumbup1:
  21. Good to hear you still have her. Yes after about 4 years, she is getting some paint and i cant wait  I have asked admin to reinstate your account, basically after the the forum upgrades and re jigging, any unused account became dormant until such a time the member returned. Lots of faces still around and lots of new members too, so you have a lot of catching up to do :thumbup1:
  22. Hi Trish, long time my dear, how are you? I didnt know you sold your last zed, i guess so much has happened. I will get Lee to re activate your old account if you want, nice to see you back and glad that you are well. Graham
  23. Depends on the type of wheels you have, if you get the correct offset, it shouldnt be a problem, the De-corsa wheels that me and Batman have are pretty close to the stock caliper, so by adding bigger disc and and caliper and therefore using a bracket to extend the diameter to take the caliper, there is a strong chance it could foul the wheel, but i look forward to the results without the spacer.
  24. Yup inverter duff by the sounds of it
  25. Lets hope they fit behind the Decorsa's without a spacer, as my stock calipers were literally mm away from the leg of the alloy.
