Whats the manufacture date of your zed Trish?

This part, depends on the date of manufacture on Trish's zed if the vehicle is between 1 aug 1992 & 31 july 1995 and an exact match is found in the Emission database, then a CAT test is done using the vehicle specific details However, the Z32 is NOT in the emissions database, this means a NON-CAT TEST is carried out using the same values as pre 92 cars

Even though its a 95, the 300zx is not on the emissions database and has to be done as a pre cat regardless, im sure one of our MOT gurus can confirm this, although Southern Ireland is probably a law unto itself lol

Have they fitted the earth strap back on the top of the gearbox?, very little to go wrong if its power to the starter your lacking, also check the three plugs behind the drivers headlight and lastly the starter relay behind the drivers wing plastic arch liner.

Recommended every 5 years or 60k miles which ever comes first. Rubber does deteriorate over time and as its a big part of the engines running, worth while changing for peace of mind. Belt is about £45 and if you fit it yourself your looking at a few hours work :thumbup1: No doubt most manufacturers over egg the importance within those time/mile frames, some cars can last their lifetime on the same belt, but its not worth the risk IMO

Jimmer is closer to you and an engine guru, so i wouldnt lose any sleep bud :thumbup1:

I think you would hear more than a grinding if it were the crankshaft, i would get a second opinion personally as it may be something totally different.

I have a 99 spec with one of Carmads lip, looks good, but after hitting a curb i split it, so didnt get fitted when resprayed, needless to say it will be going back on at some point this year lol Pic funnily enough includes your fat ass :lol:

Nice project and doesnt seem to bad on the face of it, just plough through one job at a time. The resistor mod is indeed for the Knock sensor, it may have the wrong one in there or its dead, they are pence from Maplin 1meg ohm, if you have a cone filter then the rest of the air pipes either side are redundant :thumbup1:

Nice purchase, not much to do cosmetically to get her looking at its best :thumbup1: Also get rid of those reflectors, that Gary thinks are fog lights lol, they dont suit and the car will pass the MOT with the rear lights as they are, because reflect light from the chrome/mirror rings on the outers :thumbup1:

I find the white lettering detracts from the overall look and stealthy-ness of your car, but as we always say, its your car, do whatever makes you happy :thumbup1:

You can buy them with bulb holders in and add an led bulb yourself, its only a certain amount/series of the red ones that didnt have them.

First i would get rid of that stupid 80's white tyre lettering :biggrin: I wouldnt do anything mate but maybe add some clear rear bumper side markers :thumbup:
