She is going to look the dogs mate when she is finished, i must point out though as im anal like that lol, but from your pic of the bumper in post 310, it would seem that you still have a bit of orange peel going on, might need another colour sand and buff for that mirror finish :thumbup1:

Engine change and respray
Looking good Ted, but may i make a suggestion.... I too polished my cam cover pipes as in pic above, but after a while they tarnish and oxodise and will look awful after a few months, i would paint them as im am going to with mine. They will not stay looking that good for very long lol, even if you try and keep polishing them.

Is it possible to 'bench test' an AFM?
Check the pins on the maf plug for corrosion, but i would say you have a dead maf

Plenum pulled!
Lol, also forgotten how very little room there is back there :scared:
-
Plenum pulled!
The pipe only sits inside the nut, so not that long, but removing the pass water pipe would make it easier to get the valve out. In fairness i too have only done the bypass/removal with the engine out, also on an NA so a TT with the engine in situe, there isnt a lot of room lol
-
Plenum pulled!
Yes, one vac and the two pipes to the front underside of the plenum, then two bolts to remove the valve itself

Plenum pulled!
Here you can see how the EGR is connected

A business question...
As Gary said, the standard of your work defines you as a tradesman, but i totally understand where you are coming from, reading your above post. The way to look at it, is to command big bucks from big clients in this day and age, they expect a shop frontage/premises thus they assume you must be serious and professional,,,,,,, Its the same in my industry ( entertainment) i did a pricing experiment with a colleague who also runs a band, i quoted £3k, thinking its a fair price to get the job, he however, he quoted £6.5k and guess who got the job? Not me lol, the clients think if they pay more, it must be better and some like to try and out do each other on how much they can spend. In some instances you do get what you pay for, but as part of this experiment we knew we were on a par with each other, so its how its been perceived thats different. If you want the next level, then of course your pricing has to go up accordingly, its up to you where you need to go with this :thumbup1: But dont let this one instance push you where you may not want to go

Topgaiters leather interior
The guy has a whole team of people in a small factory unit, years ago i sent him his very first centre console lid to use as a template and he is still going strong by the looks of it, good service and Italian leather and a good price, but the difference is you fit it all yourself and if you make a pigs ear of it you have only yourself to blame. Having our very own Great Mondo, its far more personal and bespoke and you have an inter club service second to none, the fact he is booked many months in advance says it all.......................... you are too fooking slow :lol::lol::lol::lol: Credit to the club and top work

Happy Birthday Craig, have a great time out there

Vibration Problem
H3 is the kit you need, most of us have used the £35 ish ones off ebay with no issues, headlights have a rubber sealant so need heating around the glass to loosen up but very easy to take apart once out of the car. There are 4 10mm nuts holding it in place and is a pain with the bumper still on, but doable.

Vibration Problem
Headlights dull another common issue, you will find many years of grime inside the projector lens and the inside of the glass itself. It can be cleaned using a bit of cloth on a bendy stick, like a swab, or take them apart and give them a good clean, will make a world of difference. The fit some HID 55watt 5000k and you will be amazed at the difference

Vibration Problem
Thats definitely off centre lol What it should look like

Vibration Problem
Centre prop bearing is a common cause of vibration at around 40 mph and over, it may look ok, but its 20year old rubber thats taken a hammering, change it and your vibration will be solved, if the other bushes and gearbox mount look to be ok. check first that, if the prop has been removed at some point, it may not have been placed back in the same orientation, so rotate 180deg as it may be out of balance

help with clunking rear passenger side
I would be looking at the centre prop bearing if it was rumbling constantly, then look at the bushes on the rear arms and subframe for the clunking. Another one of those, you have to be there or hear it for yourself type issues lol
