For those alone this year.
Being born here doesnt necessarily make it easier to make friends, meaning because we are English, i think it depends on how outgoing your are as a person :flowers:

For those alone this year.
Funnily enough, i spent xmas on my own last year, went to my mums boxing day, but i have to say that being on my own with the cat was such a nice stress free and peaceful day. This year i have a new lady, she has 2 kids and so far its been chaos, but i know crimbo day will be a laugh and im looking forward to seeing the boys' faces when they open their prezzies. I can honestly take it or leave it, a total waste of money you wouldnt normally spend any other time of the year,( apart from on the zed lol) but its the people around you that make xmas what it is. So dont get stressed or depressed, its like having sex for the first time, its over very quickly:lol: Chin up and look forward to next year

project zx has started
Thats looking the nuts mate, what sort of price for the spray job complete. Obviously you dont have to be exact, just a ballpark figure as im getting several quotes at varying prices, depending on the amount of prep the guys need to do. Cheers Graham

Power steering prob, checked the usual culprits, what next?
Sometimes with a dodgy speedo convertor, it wont register sometimes till after 20mph, if the ecu is receiving an intermittent signal, then speed sometimes doesnt come into it. The power steering can feel heavy one minute, shake the wheel and its back if you have a dry joint on the pcb it can be affected by temperatures, ie contract and expand, so in essence probably works better when the inside cabin temp is warm. The other option is do run a wire from the ecu in the footwell direct to the speedo, as you may have a brittle feed in the loom. The pcb is attached to the speedo clock, so undo the 6 screws( 3boost + 3speedo)and the clock will come out. As i mentioned in the previous post, try disconnecting the speed convertor and see if the speedo works as it did.

Power steering prob, checked the usual culprits, what next?
Common problem also are dry joints on the speedo circuit board, especially if you tap the dash and it works. Power steering will be affected as the signal going to the ecu will be erratic, therefore causing the problems you describe. Also worth taking of the convertor and try the speedo again, although it will read in km, you can at least eliminate the convertor from the chain. HTH

Headlight Earth
You can earth it to the metal housing of the bulb holder or the body , chassis or engine. If its not the earth thats the problem, try swapping over the headlight relay for the one that works and see if that makes a difference HTH

Xmas bash thank you
Hi Ike, its a shame you were hit so badly with the weather, it was glorious sunshine all the way up from Portsmouth, roads were clear, hard to imagine that over in the east you had so much snow

Xmas bash thank you
Just got back.Jeff, Jamie and Linda, Thank you so much for the warm welcome and a lovely day. A big thanks to Linda for keeping Julie amused. Food was top notch and nice to put names to faces, you always get a different impression of how people may look in the flesh compared to talking to them on the forum. Thanks again Graham

what is the problem?
Me neither, i had UK clocks, fitted another set of UK clocks to check and the speedo doesnt do what it did before, but only seems to work when warm, so either another problem with that board or speed sensor
-
what is the problem?
I had the same problem, dry joints on the speedo circuit board can also cause intermittent readings, i was doing about 50mph, showed over a ton on the clock, when i slowed down the needle dropped to the other side of the dial.

whos awake, i need help, headlight bulb/mainbeam confused
http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=118132&highlight=headlight+bulb No worries, the H3C are for jap and H3 for UK, but you can get the H3 more easily and you just ground the earth to the screw on the bulb surround

whos awake, i need help, headlight bulb/mainbeam confused
If you get the H3 from Halfords you can do the earth mod and it will work, i will try and dig out the thread
