  1. My insurance company made no issue whatsoever about the fact it was an import compared to a UK car, i think there is a bit of hype regarding this issue, My brokers are Aquote in Andover and my first year with them was through Norwich Union (now Aviva) I paid £320 fully comp, free AA recovery cover, last renewal they tried to up the excess to £600 which was twice the insurance policy so i moved to groupama, i Paid £300 fc and 300excess. I have full no claims and protection, 42, and live in a low crime area. Its worth having a shop around, the area you live plays a big part in price. HTH Graham
  2. 2 are abroad, 1 has no zed and never heard of the other one
  3. Bugger, the nearest store to me with stock is Chichester, nothing on the isle of wight :death:
  4. AIV removal here, this is for the N/A, the same system on all models i think apart from the balance bar vac pipes for the TT http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=99851
  5. The TT UK or Jap have pre cats after the turbo and standard cats at the end of the downpipe, nothing different that i know of, get a pic up if you can, will be interesting to see whats been done. The cat temp sensor will no longer be required with a decat. The elbows are normally part of the decat pipe package when bought new, so you will require 2 elbows, one for each side. HTH Graham
  6. Welcome to the club and get some pics up Graham
  7. I used epoxy resin  dont want to get it off ever:rofl:
  8. Here you go Paul, you dont need the first section so much but goes through the whole procedure http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.311 Rear seats and half the boot panels need to come out to get to the rear quarter panels, but the rest is very straightforward Good luck with it all, it will transform the interior no end Gaham

  11. Also if you squint your eyes you can see her lol
  12. Hi Mate, i found the best way is to pull the top rubber grommit part of the tube out of the door jam, use either a wire coathanger cut and straightened as a pull through or wire from some twin and earth cable, as its pliable but thick enough to be pushed. You need to be careful with the wire not to push too hard as it will pierce the rubber. I use a fibre optic cable which is 5mm thick so wont peirce or damage any wires while going through. You could also pull the grommit part of the bottom of the tube where it enters the door, nothing too hard to do though. HTH
  13. Cheers Mike, will have a look
  14. Im picking up another engine next week, nothing serious with mine yet but fancied having a spare, its apparently got about 60k miles, but although it may be good as it is, i fancy doing a rebuild to make it like new again before i drop the engine and manual box in the car. Im not looking to do a slickpete, im after making it strong and reliable for the years ahead. So if i replace the pistons, rings and conrods, etc, whats the best way to go and where to get the bits. Im in no rush, just going to take my time and do it bit by bit, but would maybe like to get it all finished before the summer starts. Im after it basically being like new, internally, for peace of mind. So im looking for a shopping list Any guidance or help would be much appreciated Cheers Graham
  15. Yep i guessed that might be a problem, defo going for the 4wheel base frame Looking at this one, good price too http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sealey-ES550-Engine-Stand-550-Kg-Load_W0QQitemZ190361155806QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item2c5268b8de
  16. A bit of work and it might fit  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Painted-Nissan-300ZX-Z32-Boot-lip-spoiler-89-00-Coupe_W0QQitemZ270514673101QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item3efbee55cd
  17. Using a screwdriver anywhere on the engine acts as a stethoscope, just amplifies the sound. If you have knocking, rather than a tapping its more likely to be bottom ends gone and they will get louder the more you rev, i personally wouldnt rev it, only make it worse and end up causing more damage. I cant remember for sure if they can be done without taking the engine out, there have been some threads on the subject, might be worth a search. Good luck with it Graham
  18. Happy Birthday mate, have a good one
  19. Happy Birthday bud, have a good one
  20. cool thanks for the info
  21. Im looking at buying an engine stand, does anyone know if a 550kg man enough for the job Cheers Graham
  22. You could also use a tap and die set, about £20from Halfords for a complete set, comes in useful for other jobs too
  23. I totally agree vijay, i have had a few purchases in the past where they took alot longer than advertised and had no replies to mails, but it eventually turned up. Most ebayers like to make money from postage, and use 2nd class or snail mail instead of next day or first class, which when combined with xmas, snow takes even longer, however there should be no reason not to communicate, it would save a lot of stress lol
  24. I think you have to take into consideration the xmas post and the recent weather, i have had no post for the last 5 days and still waiting for stuff i got the beginning of Dec from ebay, i would give it till the end of the week to see if you get a reply or your goods. Frustrating i know, but he could also be on holiday and hasnt seen any mails yet. Not the best way to do business, but there must be a reason, i know of people who have had good dealings with the seller in the past, so i wouldnt worry too much just yet. Easy for me to say as im not out of pocket by that much money, but i would say be a bit more patient and it will be resolved. HTH Graham
