laptop keeps switching off
When you run the scan, it will pick it up in the first 15 mins. you probably wont need to run the defrag, as that takes the longest.

laptop keeps switching off
http://onecare.live.com/site/en-US/center/howsafe.htm?s_cid=mscom_msrt I had a few viruses recently that locked me out of everything, got rid by using the microsoft link above and works fine now. You have to run Internet explorer for it to work. HTH A worm is a virus by the way.

Jap instrument cluster
You might just have a dry joint on the board which is quite a common problem. I have some spare speedo's jap and a UK one. Best to change the whole dial rather than just the board as the needle will have to come off otherwise and there in lies one of the other biggest problems lol. Let me know if you want anything doing, i will have a look for you. Cheers Graham

Blue smoke!
Pcv valves very easy job to clean or replace. In Power mode the engine changes gear at the redline or thereabouts to get as much out of her before changing up but this happens automatically when you floor the throttle anyway , you,ll see a yellow light come on to the right of the steering wheel , when you ease off the gas for a short while it switches back to normall unless you,ve left the switch in the power position. Hold lets your car pull away in second gear and change up fairly quickly to reduce torque to the rear wheels for driving in snow and ice . HTH

Jap instrument cluster
The jap circuit board has a different resistor at R10 compared to the UK speedo, can be interchanged, the speedo changes at series4 i believe, ie 96. The odometer cogs on the jap is black and the UK is blue, so changing speedo alone will make no difference to the odometer reading. Jap clocks work out cheaper than UK clocks due to the fact that those who change to UK no longer have use for the Jap clocks. It would help if you explain what you are after specifically. Graham

Contact Details
Most members that sell are usually well established and will either have a feedback score (thats what its there for, for transactions) unfortunately there are some new members that pay their subscription and start selling straight away. Its a case of buyer beware, similar to ebay, check feedback and if unsure post a thread and ask. To be honest, bad transactions a few and far, its only recently there has been an issue which has brought this to the forefront of peoples feelings.

Fair play, if youve replaced the 2 culprits, then you can be pretty sure its the prop balance, not as common a problem as the previous two mentioned lol

Contact Details
Good idea, but the best thing to do is to get a pm from a seller/buyer before continuing with a purchase or a sale, with all relevant info and contact details to safeguard any future problems that may arise. For example: If im doing a dash and pods, they have my address to send it to, obviously.I have theirs for the return and i have no problem including my mobile number. Although sales of items are based on trust, its down to the individual to be responsible. Also, there is a buying/selling guideline sticky in the Items for sale

help
Thats normally a sign of the centre bearing gone, it causes vibration, especially 40-60mph rather than prop balance.

Sounds like you have a manual prop, instead of an auto one

Anyone here know Redbaron personally??
No worries mate, if it was in his for sale thread, then it was already in the public domain, so no harm done, but i would imagine that those members awaiting parts or an answer will have the number. No point in all and sundry trying to contact him. I believe Bri is on the case, so dont worry, it will get resolved. Cheers Graham

Sorry to edit Rich, as i dont want to hinder you in your quest, but i thought it best not to put his phone number up on a public thread without his permission

Facebook for my son.........
My other halfs lad is 10 and is on it quite a bit, he does only talk to his mates or family and i always keep an eye on him and restrict his time on facebook to a minimum. After having a PS3 for crimbo though hes lost interest in facebook. I dont like him being on there, mainly cos its my laptop he is using and i dont want anything untoward to come back and bite me, in the ass, so if you are going to allow him to go on there, keep a close eye. Engine stand bolts and mounting
Cheers Mark, i have no tubs to worry about lol. The top arms on my stand seem to catch the water pipe top left, so might have to use the middle and bottom bolt holes. Cheers Graham

Engine stand bolts and mounting
I have just put together my engine stand which arrived today and im going to need the bolts to attach it to the block, im thinking 10x100mm if anyone knows for sure please let me know. Also because of the pipe on the rear of the engine, it seems to leave only 4 mounting points. Anyone with any pics of the rear of the engine on a stand will be great. Last question, will it rotate ok on the stand or will it try to swing out of control, is it best to have 2 people to do it. Many thanks Graham
