  1. :happybday: have a great day, celebrating your big 40 :happybday: Graham
  2. Better off with a boost controller and leaving the turbo set up alone, otherwise you will end up with engine out again.
  3. There are some great tutorials on you tube, just type in what you want and its pretty much there. Great for scales also, slow and the correct tempo. Here is a chord chart to get you started
  4. I played football aswell at school, did really well till i went up to high school, when the team was already picked, so concentrated on guitar instead. I practiced day and night when younger
  5. I just showed that to my other half :slap: wont write what the reply was:scared:
  6. Its good having a one to one with a tutor, but to start with either get some chord books, to learn the shapes etc or from the internet, there are loads of sites that will help. Also depends what type of music you are into, to a direction you might start with. Eg when i was 11/12 i listened and learnt all the shadows tunes, first the chords then the melody, all by ear, had a few lessons at school then a year later had professional lessons for about 3 months, then its a case of learn your own technique and go from there. You never stop learning, just last night, i learnt the Eric Johnson track "cliffs of dover" just for a bit of inspiration lol
  7. Hi Ike, if you get rid of the sticker, it still has the fairlady z in grained if its the right word, in the strip. I used a scalpel to lift the edge and peeled off and used label remover to get the gunk off. Both available from Maplin, the scalpel is from a craft knife set they sell. HTH Graham
  8. :happybday: have a good day :happybday:
  9. Michael jackson, if you look in his link to his car at the bottom of his page, had a metal plate welded and smoothed, looks pretty nice, if you didnt want to go down the lip or spoiler route. But you couldnt leave it without a strip.
  10. :happybday: have a nice day :happybday:
  11. By the way to clarify, the 450g clocks have speedo rings and a stainless facia, so weigh a bit more, i have just weighed a set of standard uk clocks and unpackaged come in at 200g
  12. Depends how you pack it though Andy, if its just bubble wrapped, with tape, you are looking at about 500-550g max and a box the same, maybe 600g max, cardboard weighs naff all on its own really
  13. Just weighed the dash clocks and the binnacle weighs 450g, HTH Cheers Graham
  14. http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.311 Half way down the page, very straight forward
  15. I have sent dash clocks in the post many times, approx £6 in a box, cheaper if it wrapped in bubble wrap. Ive got a couple of dashes here in front of me, but no scales sorry. Graham
  16. I wouldnt worry about the mot, it has to be tested as a precat, so the emissions allowed are higher. My O2 sensors are both buggered and still passed the mot. Snap-On part number YA8875 'Compact Oxygen Sensor Wrench'. or use a plain 22mm crow's foot socket, alternatively if you are replacing them, break the top off and get a socket on there. Do a search on here for O2 sensor removal, there should be a couple of write ups Graham
  17. There is a pipe lol but not straight to the gauge as was asked in the question
  18. 20 minutes :gun_bandana: a 4 minute job, take the 2 screws out to get the hood off, locate the green/yellow stripe wire and cut. Job done and you still get the light on chime.
  19. My Bro did it all through LDC, got the car independently but appraised by LDC, still cost him a few grand though to get through the test. Started with the LDC franchise, ie they supply name board etc and direct enquiries from their website to you if its in your area. The studying was very hard, especially to remember all the key points and as old zed said theres several practical tests. He did taxiing to supplement his income, but as time progressed he had the chance to buy the taxi business. He makes more money and its instant cash. I would become a taxi driver if i were you, you can earn more money and with less stress and very little outlay.
  20. There isnt a vacum pipe on the stock gauge, its electronic, this should help though, look under boost gauge, but dont fit it through the window like he did, :scared: http://www.twinturbo.info/
  21. The alternator tension bolt = clockwise to adjust outwards. If you have an aftermarket under drive pulley, even with the belts tight, with water they tend to squeal, mine does it when really wet or go through a puddle. I had them checked recently and they were all tight. Its obvious when you get under the car and see the bolts, which is why its hard to find a diagram, ive searched lots of the usual sites and get a couple of pics of the alternator and tensioner but no explanations or instructions as such.
  22. Xmas present from Paul to Heather pair of stockings and a pair of scissor £7 A razor for one leg, a plane for the other £10 The look on her face £ priceless :lol::biggrin:
  23. My brother did, he passed last year as an instructor, theres a lot of studying to do, a few tests to take. He started teaching then found he hated it. At first getting clients is the hard bit, cos you have the car, ins, signs etc to pay for, i think he got bored. He bought a taxi business in the end and never looked back. Cost a few grand from start to training, so can also take a while to recoup your investment. These adverts that say become a driving instructor, all you need is a clean license etc.. Its not as straight forward as they make out. What do you need to know, i can ask him Graham
  24. :happybday: have a good one mate :happybday:
