  1. I did some gauges a while back that were sealed, the rings/bezels were sort of crimped on, so eased the edge up bit by bit till it came off, any dents in the metal ring is on the back so is covered once in place, might be worth a try.
  2. First pic is the time control unit and the fuel pump relay
  3. Welcome to the club, hope you enjoy your new toy
  4. Happy Birthday John, all the best
  5. You didnt mention you had a speedo convertor lol, usual culprit to take out the equation if all is not well.
  6. A dry joint or track will look dull, may even have hairline cracks in the solder or at the point of a component. You are looking at the R10 resistor area, which is where the signal is converted. Re flow with fresh solder any or all tracks which dont look healthy, a magnifying glass is handy as sometimes not as obvious by eye.
  7. You will be fine mate. The activater/hardner is the toxic part of the 2 parts, it contains cyanide, which can be lethal if exposed to for great amounts of time. The twin filter mask should be ok, depends on the type of filter, it has, there is one designed for 2K. The toxicity is at its worst airborne and will be fine once hardened. Ive sprayed loads of 2K in my garage and leave the doors open for a while after the paint has started to harden, not just to get rid of the overspray, but the smell can be a bit pungent, even after a couple of days. 2K is supposed to be slightly better than celly in colder conditions, but ideally best to spray anything in a warm dry environment.
  8. All the best Marco, have a great day
  9. All the best Jason, have a great day
  10. Just below your thumb is a little slit to access a screw, i found that my screw was missing, replaced the screw and it seals the rubber much better to the A pillar, my water leak has now turned to a dribble instead of a torrent. Also put some sealant on the meal strip behind the rubber that goes along the A pillar, there should be a butyl rubber strip behind it, which after so many years perishes and rots, in conjunction with the screw should help the drips.
  11. Oh yes of course, those gauges. Yes you can wire into the dash circuit to dim the illumination.
  12. Then you might not be able to do it, as the digital readout needs the 12v voltage and im sure in most cases the illumination is part of the same circuit.
  13. Just be yourself and she should love you the way you are lol. Im lucky i have one that loves me for me and wouldnt care if we lived in a cardboard box or a mansion, we dont argue about anything, except her sons attitude occasionally lol and have no stress worries or debts. If we havent got it, we dont get it, if we do, then we go for it. In previous relationships i did the marraige bit, buying the house bit and have every mod con going, everything anyone could have wished for and still went tits up, i went into this relationship with the general dont give a shit attitude, but not in a nasty way, if you get what i mean lol. And i realised it all means nothing unless you can be happy without it.
  14. I know what you are saying Rolandas, you can wire the light feed for the gauges to a light output from the dash, ie clock, cig lighter or dash feed and it will dim the light source via the dimmer. I tried this with my this with my gauges and worked, but no good for me as they are led segments instead of a needle and they wouldnt work due to lack of voltage, but dont see why it wouldnt work for normal analogue type gauges.
  15. Probably choose Silverstone as its likely the closest for me to get too and not sure on the model, DB9 probably, will have to look into it. - - - Updated - - - Im always a good boy in her eyes, cant do no wrong lol
  16. A driving experience anyway lol, cant wait, i keep saying to my other half that my favourite car next to the zed is an Aston Martin, so she kindly got me one as a present
  17. Happy Birthday mate, nice day to have a Bday lol
  18. All the best Jane, hope you a have a great day, merry xmas :thumbup1:
  19. You could wire all tree to a variable resistor pot or as above
  20. Then you can put a resistor in line to dim it down, Dicky96 can probably work out the best resistance, but you could start at 470ohm and take it up from there, probably a 1k (1000 ohm) may be just about right as thats what is in the pods to dim the on/off leds.
  21. Do you have a separate feed for the illumination, or is the light on the gauge when the ignition is on?
  22. Nice how you got the circle of the led board colour coded to the housing :thumbup1:
  23. One more sleep till xmas day, well for the kids it is, i probably wont get much sleep lol. All the best and have a great xmas everyone
