Ok, I did that. The phone operator was, I suspect, in a different continent and was most confused by the phrase "300zx.co.uk club" and even "craig david"! Oh well, it should have worked anyway.

I just tried to subscribe by bank transfer (as per the instructions on the thread). My bank (HSBC) said they couldn't do it as the account number only had seven digits and it should be eight. Is there any other way to subscribe without using PayPal?

I go on some other message bord forum for work sometimes. And, damn, some of them ARE REALLY cliquey. They also say some pretty rude things which I'm sure they wouldn't have the bottle face-to-face as well. As for this site, it seems pretty friendly. I don't know about this particular issue on this board....I hope no-one leaves or is upset though.

interesting... thanks gents. It's not a 180kph / 112mph restriction I don't think as it happens at about 128mph on the speedo. I think that's a genuine reading and not just the speedo being incorrect. Scotty... where did you get the chip and what is it called (and roughly what did it cost)?

I was going to get "Ocean Finance accepted me when others turned me down" on my bike. Also thought about "I'm too quick upon my toes to get caught up with you hoes" but it's kinda long and people mispronounce the 'hoes' bit. Same goes for "Yo bitch, mother f***er, God damn. I bought my car in February this year. It's a N/A auto 1999 car. I haven't driven it that fast as it started to shake at high speed. I changed all four tyres today (the fronts were 'Nankangs' or something and I think they were the problem) and now it doesn't shake. :dance: But it seems to hit what feels like an electronic limiter just below 130mph. Does anyone know if that's the case or what it might be? Any ideas how to liberate the full power / speed? Thanks gents!

I bought a NA in february and I love it. I think it's lighter than a TT so you could argue it'll handle slightly better but I doubt if anyone would ever notice that. It also runs cooler in the engine bay and I think that makes the electrics more reliable (all the heat from the turbos can make wiring go brittle or something). It's quick but not super-quick. There are occasions I wish I had turbos but after my 200SX needed a new turbo, I swore I'd never get another used turbo car. I can't afford the turbos to go and cost thousands to repair / replace and I'm not mechanicaly competent enought to do the job myself. I think the most important thing when buying a 300ZX is to find a really nice one and that was more important to me than going for a turbo. A turbo would have cost more too and I could only just afford my NA. I wanted a late a car as possible, again to keep runing costs down. You can get NAs and turbos as late as 2000 if you look (very) hard. And if you do find a NA isn't powerful enough, there's always nitrous. I guess you could get a NA nitroused for about £1000. And I'd hope the three litre engine could handle an extra 75bhp or so without damaging it, especially if you only use the nitrous occasionally. If I was buying again, I'd seriusly consider buying from somone on this board. You can check all their posts and see if they've had problems and most people on here are enthusiasts who look after their cars. Does that help? Myabe not! I have the original remote locking fob but no idea how it works. I pushed a few buttons and there were some beeping noises but I thought it might immobilise the car or something. Does anyone actually use one (my alarm remote unlocks the car anyway) or shall I pop it in the bin? Would it open the boot? I'd quite like that if it did. :hyper: :hyper:

Max is the biggest selling motoring mag in the UK. Bigger than Top Gear, Car, Evo... and all the bike titles. And they broadly 'built the culture' that surounds it / buys it. You can't argue with that... even if you don't like the mag.
