Guest Mooch Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 I have a strip with two prongs that is meant to go into two holes above the upper radio slot. The thing is that it won't friction fit into the holes so I'm guessing that I'm missing two metal clips that go over the prongs. Is that right and if so, what sort of clips are needed and does anyone have any for me? Thanks Mooch Quote
Guest oneday Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 There is meant to be two metal clips to hold it in place. If they are missing just use some thin double sided tape to hold it in place !! Quote
MAC 1 Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 glue gun job? No double sided tape,or you won't get it back off without breaking it;) Quote
jaffaZ32 Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 mine flys off every time i boot it. lol. Quote
olly300zx Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Put velcro in between, a nice strip along the cover and on the radio surround means you can put it on and remove it as many times as you like !!! Quote

Guest Scottywil Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 was it? sorry man, thy only came in one colour from courtesy maybe yours was faded with age? Nah lad, the one i had was a nice shiny black. The one from courtesy was more of a rough mat black. Dont matter though, it was just the clips i was after. ;) Quote
Guest tattooman Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Those clips are a pain in the Ar*e aren't they ??? Quote
Guest Matty Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Mines held on by Blu-tac, 1 of my best mods i think! Blue-Tac rules!!!! :D Matty. Quote
Clarkey Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 might have to give the blue-tac a go, seems this is a problem on every single zed out there :p but i wouldnt go for double sided tape because you need to remove it to get the console off to get at the stereo, and as mac says, you will break it. Guest tattooman Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 I have Blue Tac on both my cars otherwise it just falls down... Quote
Daves_Zed Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 IMHO the clips are a good idea, the problem seems to be when people come to remove the strip. You should insert a flat bladed screwdriver gentley in from the bottom. This will compress the clip and allow it to be removed. If you just prise the strip off, then the clip will either break, or fly off. If it flies off then it'll probably go inside the dash area somewhere, and never be seen again......... Hence why I needed to get a new one :D;) HTH :x: Quote
Guest tattooman Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 I still reckon that the Japs could have come up with a better design than that.... Quote
