  1. do they have internal or external wastegates, i would have thought extrernal so you'll need wastegates and different manifolds
  2. plus, if you use 2 afm's with an safc to add them you don't the idle hose as all the air will be metered.
  3. as you say mate, JWT do them, but plenty of people on here can burn one for you. They are know as dual pop(charger) chips. Dual filters done properly are only really needed above 400rwhp, but don't do any harm below that. If there's no balance point then you need something to even out the airflow between the banks on idle - do a search for low speed drivability hose. The other option you have is to use 2 afm's and use an apexi safc to add the signals together, this way all the air is measured and you have no idle issues. the 2 into one options posted above are not worth it as you still get the same flow restriction
  4. didn't do a proper before and after, but if you look at the ring pics you can there's more space around the tire. There's a slight pull on the arch but it's very difficult to see, and coupled with the removal of the lip gives 10-15mm extra clearance. I'm very happy as it gives me the space without changing the lines of the car :D
  5. no, as the wide arch kit removes most of the standard arch anyway so you won't get rubbing
  6. camera angle, it wouldn't have rubbed in the first place if there was that much neg camber :) I have adjustable arms everywhere so all the geometry is bang on. Costs are on the web site with a small discount as there were 2 of us
  7. pass side done with wheel Mark's (Topless) car ready to start As you can see there's loads of space now, and as part of the rolling there's a slight pull to each arch to give a bit more space. Battery died so haven't got any more pics :( Unfortunately, yesterday was also the first day the car has ever refused to start on me :wack: So Phil & Mark were drafted in to help wheel the car on/off the drive. Finally traced it down to the coolant sensor  , as the car would catch and then die. My suspicion is that because of the dodgy connection the ECU was dumping extra fuel in and causing it to flood, though I've not heard of this happening before. (only tried it as I heard the sub fan kick in late last night) A good clean and charging the battery overnight since we drained it from all the cranking and all was well again today.
  8. had my arches rolled yesterday courtesy of Phil at http://archenemy.co.uk/. I found that my 285's were just catching the lip on heavy compressions or very hard cornering. I also wanted a bit more space should I want a bigger tire or need to add spacers to clear a rear brake upgrade. I have to say I was very impressed with the standard of work and with Phil's professional approach to the whole job. Most of the work is spent prepping the arches to minimise the risk to the paint / body. Here are a few pics: prep work all hooked up ready to go rollin' rollin' rollin' pass side done
  9. did you fix your bearings?
  10. drivers one is mounted so a stock manual frame. I also have the ali mounts which you give you a few more mm each side. then widened the holes in subframes again to give a few more mm, and again widened the mounting holes of the subframe and it just about fits! Passenger side is bolted to the floor pan as it's the gt version which is 1" wider again, and doesn't need to be moved. This is so that 'larger' passengers are comfortable ;) ;)
  11. looking good, couldn't find your own seats though - copycat :p you'll be pleased to know though that those seats are very comfortable, even for long journeys. When we went to the 'ring a few weeks ago my passenger was expecting to be a wreck after that long a journey but was plesantly surprised.
  12. picking up your car by any chance???
  13. no it means you need to add VAT
  14. i would disagree, you can do the frame rails under the car. Also stiffening the chassis should actually make the ride better, as the chassis flexes less and makes the suspension work harder instead of transferring shocks to the body
  15. thanks guys. 'Normal' merc's do nothing for me so looks like I'll start looking for a nice e39 :) Currently running a Ka so I'll probably sell that now and replace with a cheap Vectra than get the beemer at the end of the year.
  16. looking for a family car (saloon), up to 5k to spend. was thinking of a new shape mondeo but the other half doesn't like them  now thinking of a 5series (e39). Any opinions or other recommendations eg A4?? not looking for performance, needs to be 30mpg+
  17. just roll them now, won't cost you much. Then you can always add the wide arch kit at a later date
  18. lol mate, see here. Got it back but not quite as planned, had some running problems and were running out of time rapidly so we chucked the old engine back in so I could still go. It's going back in a few weeks to swap the new setup back in again. Things are never easy or straight forward are they!
  19. glad to hear it, completely agree that the bumper will have to come off for something later on, good to see things being done properly.
  20. gutted for you that's it's dragging on, hopefully you'll get there soon! on a more practical note, how will you take the front bumper off when all is said and done?
  21. drove to the nurburgring last week, Amesterdam in December, and Berlin the year before in my TT ;-) Didn't miss a beat
  22. i have some 2.5", 5 bolt super split downpipes from greg dupree if your interested...
  23. search for competion car insurance on google. Just got some cover myself for the 'ring this weekend
