  1. not that I'm aware of, I fancy having a go, was hoping this year but life seems to get in the way of getting the car where I want it.
  2. the orange car has a pentroof kit all round
  3. search 'twin pop' or doolz basically, you split the intake, have the MAF on one side and change the ecu to double the reading
  4. John supplies everything you need :) How much you need does depend on what you currently have and how much of the ecu's capabilities you want to use
  5. no, it's been sat in a bodyshop for the last 2 months getting resprayed :) not 100% finished, but picking it up today and taking it to Emerald tomorrow for mapping.
  6. yes, got the disc from AEM. Lived with the hiccup, only happened occasionally. Have recently changed to emerald but for other reasons, will share my thoughts once it's mapped.
  7. CAS would be the reason for the hickup, not an easy fix though. There is another cas disc from AEM you can try which does fix it but PITA to change and even then couldn't the new disc working on mine
  8. have you already booked track time? fingers crossed I'll come along so let me know which session you're in
  9. and no dyno graph as usual ...
  10. cheers, drove an SMG today and though generally impressed when getting on, it was a little slow changing down and I missed the feel of short shifting, and heel toeing for downshifts. Seemed a little clumsly in auto mode too, but that I can probably get used to and drive around. Thanks for the advice, will keep looking around and try to convice the wife in the mean time that running a heavily modified slicktop and an M3 isn't that silly an idea!!
  11. I see a few on here have had them in the past, about to sell the mini and buy one as I think the Mini is actually worth more at the moment :) Any advice, looking to spend 10-12k and if anyone wants a 57 plate Mini Clubman Cooper S with 12k on the clock do shout! (grey/black with black leather)
  12. agreed, reckon you need at least 500hp in a lightened 300 to keep up. That's against stock, what's really scary is just just how wide a power band the R35 has and how easily it hits 600hp with not much more than a chip & exhaust Anyhow, I'm looking for forward to trying the theory out :gunsmilie:
  13. other than the horns and waxing, got the rest covered, though sticking to the oem grey rather than satin black for trim :) anything else? It's track focused so it's not the traditional kits that people have used in the past, won't be to everyone's taste I'm sure.
  14. I'm on holiday for the Jun date but July could be an option. Seems expensive though, most open pit days seem to be int he 150-200 per day bracket.
  15. I'm looking forward to playing with them in the summer. Even if you just stay on track for 5+laps they'll have to come in to cool their gearbox down :)
  16. respray & colour change in progress with kit being fitted, not going to reveal any details, you need to wait a few weeks to see the finished article :winkiss: However, anything I should be doing at the same time? I already have new window and roof trims as well as new scuttle panels. All glass is out too...
  17. what happens when you need to take a bumper off?
  18. yes, they are the external gated ones. Just repair what you have and add bracing to avoid it failing again
  19. do you have 16G turbos and external wastegates? if so, then chances are the other type of manifolds will sit in a different place and could cause you problems
  20. I ran with a split overflow tank for ages without issues. Only time I noticed a leak was after a lap at the 'ring :) Point is it may not use it very often, but unless you happen to notice it then next time youre quite likely to overheat. I run with one of these now, tucks up to the side of the IC out the way. http://www.streetunit.com/Moroso_Radiator_Overflow_Tank_p/63657.htm
  21. don't bin it reason being, you rag the car for a while, it gets hot. Water expands into the overflow, when cool it sucks it back, ready for next time or car gets hot, excess coolant dumped onto road, all is well. Car cools down, next time you go for a run, you've only got half the coolant you should have leading to air in the system. This is promptly followed by a bunch of steam and overheated car take your choice :)
  22. AEM can control boost, you'll need to buy a suitable solonoid for it to drive. As for mapping, loads of AEM mappers around. I can recommend Ryan from 2bartuning
  23. you should keep it, I have a small one from Summit racing, know as a 'moroso'. or just get any plastic tank, nothing special about it really
