  1. I thought you could just change the oil and sealing arrangements and recharge the system with 134a
  2. easy to change, worth inspecting the lower arms where the tension rods bolt on, top and bottom, not uncommon for cracking to occur there
  3. Hello buddy, Check the z-centre or dan@DTA, kit is around £130 includes hoses, fittings etc....
  4. isnt r134a the substitute for r12???
  5. z-centre, dan@DTA. usually cost about £130 for the kit, hoses, fitting etc..... readily available, not sure but theres usually some second hand ones floating around on here. Fairly easy job to do your self, i took the front bumper off when i did mine, and thats abit of a pain in the backside.
  6. the gearbox oil cooler is integral to the radiator and its not very good to say the least, the engine oil cooler is behing the front bumper, if you stick your head under you'll see it, problem is that its not very big compared to the uk spec cars, what most people do as have I, is to get a bigger oil cooler and use it for the engine oil, then re-route the gear box oil to the old oil cooler. That way cooling for both engine and gear box is vastly improved.
  7. just out of interest, have you fitted an aftermarket oil cooler yet???? cause if you havent, i would seriously suggest you do, otherwise your autobox will become the slowest pile of sheared metal ever.
  8. Can anyone tell me how you withdraw the spring and needle valve from the aac, cant see that it withdraws through the motor side and the other end has some sort of resin in the end????
  9. hmm, that could be one of the factors why you have inside wear on the tyres, too much negative camber caused by suspension lowering, You can get a camber correction kit, or get some adjustable upper links. I'm not saying run out and buy the upper arms, but it might be an idea to have the camber checked or get a proper laser alignment done, seeing as its wearing on the inside, would indicate uneven contact area due to excessive negative camber.
  10. does anyone know whats the best adhesive to use to re-glue the blind material round the end bar???
  11. do you have any adjustable parts on the suspension??? camber arms, tension rods etc... is the car lowered???? are the alloys you put a different size??? and what is the tyre profile compared to the others????
  12. yeah it dumps when i shut the engine off, right well ive just changed the rad cap to a greddy one, and ive done a plenum bypass not so long ago, so you think maybe the matrix hoses with a small crack, hmmm i'll have a look, but dont think theres any leaks, surely if air can get in then coolant can escape.
  13. Could someone tell me if theres a drain on one of these jaspers, because mines full, as far as i'm aware its an overflow and not an expansion tank. I had a problem with my zed dumping coolant intermitantly from the passy side arch. Off the road at the mo but having the rad out to flush every thing through, Any thoughts ????
  14. as jeff says, check for a small tapered ring that sits on the hub flush to the brake discs.
  15. sorry to butt in chaps, but does anyone have any thoughts on the garage labour costs for a 60k service???
  16. Agreed, i'm off soon as get my class I recognition
  17. I'm from london myself, and yes its true to say more and more "youngsters" are carrying offensive weapons with them. Its one thing to carry its another to use. What are the reasons behind teenagers running round stabbing each other????? I dont have the answer, but the argument about protection against other carriers of knives, at the end of the day these people still have a choice. What effects there decision to stab someone????? couldnt tell you, but i tend to look at peoples upbringing, ive lived in south london for many years and ive been on the recieving end of a knife, but yet i still have no urge to run out with a knife for revenge or protection. Unfortunately over the last 5 years it has become socially acceptable for someone to carry a weapon. and it has only become clear because of recent tragic events and media coverage. Many people certainly say stiffer penalties will put reduce the problem. to a certian extent I agree, but being sent to prison in the uk doesnt have any fear factor attached, infact some people seem to think its something to be proud of. The way I see it, unless people are bought up with proper values and repect for life the problem will never subside.
  18. boot the nobs out, dirty little f******. Theres nothing worse than a "telephone tough guy" I have some CS gas floating around somewhere if that helps.
  19. my most annoying squeek, turned out to be the shock spacer gaskets being worn out, just a thought
  20. Cheers dan, i'll have a crack in sometime next week
  21. so the best thing to do is to have the caliper off again, and check for even movement of the pistons, if its the case their sticking, then i suppose i'll have to remove them for cleaning??? I dont have access to compressed air at home so can i just pump them out on the brake pedal??? And will i need some sort of clamp to get them back in???
  22. ive had most of my parts from czp, good service and promt delivery, so top marks to them, cant really comment on Z1 as havent used them for much, but coz @ czp has always answered any emails ive sent and seems to be genuinely nice chap.
  23. the front bumper's abit of a dog to get off, you'll have to go in from the arch liner to get to a couple of the screws, be prepared to loose some skin from you're knuckles.
