  1. Hi Redwine300, you could try maplin electronics.... If you take the cable or a piece with you they should be able to match the cable size to a couple of connectors if you need to do it quickly? http://www.maplin.co.uk/store-locator/coventry
  2. Hi Anthony, Well it looks like they have a plan now and could get everything done in one hit..... I bet daytime tv and being laid up are driving you nuts.... Hope today is a better day than yesterday and tomorrow is better than today..... I have to ask...... Are you using SFS custom silicone hoses for the install as I hear they are better quality than OEM...... Take care Russ
  3. I wish I could drive it.... lol Loads to do and won't be on the road till next year now...... run out of money.......:crying::sad:
  4. cheers mark.... I was getting worried I would have to remove the pipes again.....lol
  5. Thank god for that.... I was getting worried.....lol What do you recon on the heat shields on manifolds and turbo's???
  6. After pulling the plenum to do some deletes..... there are 2 issues I need advice on please:- 1) I have found the 90 degree metal pipe going into the rocker cover has come out of the passenger side, the one that goes to the PCV valve.... Does this normally come out of the rocker cover?? Also the front pipe that goes to the other end of the PCV on the passenger side is also loose... the high one that sits under the throttle linkage....??? 2) After removing the turbo I realised there is no heat shielding on the passenger turbo or manifold.... Is it okay to leave it like this or should I take the one off the spare manifold I have and fit it on??? Thanks.... Russ
  7. So far we have had:- camembert cheese and stale baguette from Si, Scouring pad / sponge from me, Port Salut from steams.... But I think a bar of soap maybe a good one for a clean get away..........:clown:
  8. Is Jimmer, JeffTT or anyone with good knowledge of TT engines about for advice please???

  12. Well Turbo back on at last.... I did a bit of a modification to the water pipes feeding the turbo.... I used the hard pipes from my spare drivers side turbo, so the pipe no longer goes toward the front of the engine bay but straight up..... I have done the EGR, Air Con, PRVR, carbon canister and water deletes, so it was better to run the new hoses up and round behind the plenum.... AIV is next on the list, disconnected but still sitting in place behind the inner wings.... I have found the 90 degree metal pipe going into the rocker cover has come out of the passenger side that goes to the PCV valve.... Does this normally come out of the rocker cover?? Also the front pipe that goes to the other end of the PCV on the passenger side is also loose... the high one that sits under the throttle linkage....??? I did find there is no heat shielding on the passenger turbo or manifold.... Is it okay to leave it like this or should I take the one off the spare manifold I have and fit it on???
  13. Will you just enjoy your holiday.............
  14. leaking washer jet pipe from bonnet???
  15. where was the drops of antifreeze you saw? That plug looks wet... was it covered in petrol?
  16. If both fuses are okay it could be the hazard switch..... If you have a multimeter you need to check for voltage at dash bulbs..... one side of bulb should be an earth.... You can find which using multimeter set to resistance.... connect one side to earth and the other to bulb.... the one reading 0 should be the earth... The other side is the +12v when the turn signal or hazard switch are ON.... If you get no 12v when the hazard switch or turn signals are ON then I think it will be earth line to the dash bulbs and hazard switch????.... as the actual indicators are lighting up..... Best person to check with is JeffTT that I can think of or Mark....
  17. I am using Bilt hammer due to Redwine300's recommendation and they do some superb stuff..... I am using the rust remover for my brake discs when I get them off....... 20. Hi EvoluZion3, I stupidly agreed to do a spartan race next year with a mate of mine who did one last year...... I was very drunk and am now regretting it...... I think I need to do insanity to get fit now...... or hide for a year or 2......lol Good luck doing the race and keep your head down in the ice pool with electric wire just above your head with thousands of volts going through them..... It hurts like bugger apparently.....lol
  21. Just removed my passenger side turbo and it took 2 days to get to the nuts and bolts on my back, ripping knuckles, swearing and asking JeffTT for advice.......lol If you are an experienced mechanic it is hard, if you don't have much experience working on the engine, it is doable but will be difficult and seem daunting..... But if you want to have a go read as many threads as possible... If you are going to do it, maybe ask for a local owner with experience of engine work to come and help??? Here is the one i did the other day where Jeff advised me..... and without his advice I was ready to shoot myself..... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?172120-Dropped-socket-down-turbo-pipe-HELP!!!!!!!!!
