  1. Happy Birthday Bazz..........:happybday::balloon::balloon::balloon::balloon:
  2. That is one of the ones I was watching on ebay and posted on here last week to see if any members were interested.... nice to know it used to be a members car.... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?171892-Zed-on-ebay&p=1759117&viewfull=1#post1759117 Hopefully someone from here will buy it and sort out the wiring problems..... seems cheap for all the parts on it...... Sorry to see it has not been cared for..... I can see you put loads of time into it...... Russ
  3. Well welding nearly done... couple of bits to tidy up and lots of grinding tomorrow, then zinc primer painted over the welds, then a bit of filler and finally painting sill, underbody and wheel arch..... YAY!!!!! here is what I have been up to.... http://s208.photobucket.com/user/veilside01702/slideshow/27th%20August%202013%20-%20welding
  4. No further progress.... but going to get on with it tomorrow..... panels made, but need to weld up last of wheel arch and clean up rear quarter panel ready to weld repair panel in place..... I will get lots of pics as I go......
  5. Re-trimmed the top part of the rear interior panels, dropped the headlining so I can remove the centre targa bar and wrap the roof, finished the repair panel ready for welding tomorrow and painted it with zinc primer.... Oh and drew a diagram of throttle spring covers after talking to funkysi about them...... Pics of rear panels I just finished putting back together....
  6. She is...... but you sure you can store all those shoe's?? She doesn't drive, doesn't like cars, she doesn't do mornings and loves shopping..... When you going to pick her up? I tried to send by courier, but she made him cry.......lol
  7. RUNNING............ She saw it..............:hyper::hyper::hyper: Owwwwwwwwwwww.......that hurt.....
  8. Well cleaning garage and tarpaulin the leaky roof took longer than thought..... I only managed to remove the headlining, rear interior panels and clean, rub down and primer the panel to close the hole in the side of the car......... I then stripped the rear panels in to top and bottom sections, as the top was not leathered when the interior was done...... Just noticed it is original plastic coating crap..... The coating on top piece had shrunk so you can see the rotten foam underneath that looks like honeycomb and falls apart when touched... Spent 2 hours trying to get this off the panel and it is horrible stuff.... Tried scraping, thinners, sanding, washing and managed to get one sort of done using UPVC thinners cleaner stuff and a scraper....... Going to try hairdryer and scraper after dinner as the thinners is giving me a headache..... Tomorrow is welding day...... and I can't wait to get this done......
  9. Anyone want a new mrs? Been trying to offer her free with parts for months and no takers........ Money's tight so I thought I would make her redundant in my latest cost cutting exercise........:biggrin:
  10. I bet you make sure he's fed and has a fresh brew when required....... Have you been the tea b*tch?......lol That's usually my job........lol
  11. I have to say Mikey has been really helpful to me as well...... Is it me or is the Z community helping one another more and more as money gets tighter????
  12. With regret.... I am going to have to pull out as funds are depleted and car will not be ready this year now.........:crying::crying::crying::crying:
  13. I must admit I use both of these a lot.......lol I use the fibreglass pen on battery connectors in loads of things like my radio control car transmitter battery holder and cleaning relay contacts..... Saved a fortune on relays over the years......lol Nice to know I am not alone using them.....lol
  14. Well the flooding in my garage is now subsiding a bit..... looks like the seats might be okay..... drying out nicely.... only small puddles left.....
  15. fibreglass pen from maplin and some switch cleaner is what I usually use...... http://www.maplin.co.uk/abrasive-fibreglass-pencil-3932 and http://www.maplin.co.uk/contact-cleaner-4153
  16. Thanks for that, I shall stick to self tappers then.... Your right about test fitting.... I brought my tools to the car after a few panels and now do everything sitting next to her.... I was getting moaned at for keep walking through the house into the garden as well...lol Also made fine adjustments a lot quicker..... I am going to try to measure up and mark round the repair panel tomorrow to see how much has to be trimmed up and tweek the fit..... If I get a chance and weather permitting, I will be trying to grind the previous mess and tidy up..... and weld up the wheel arch If I get the time.....lol Then I can at least get on painting the welded area's and sealing the underneath front piece...... If weather is still bad I am just going to clean up all the suspension and brakes while the rear wheel is off......
  17. Happy Birthday Mate.......:happybday:
  18. Hi Anthony, hope things are getting better for you mate...... Everyone here is behind you and thinking about you...... We're all just waiting to hear your home and on the mend...... Russ
  19. Would pop rivets be okay to pull panels together? I looked at getting a joggler / flanging tool..... but after a sudden £720 council tax bill came in and the need for 2 new tyres and an MOT on my daily driver in the next few weeks...... I have had to stop any further spending on the Z for this month.... This has put JAE out of reach now..... and maybe the rest of this year.... I may have to resort to making my own flanging tool or doing it by hand bit by bit...... I'm a bit down at the moment and this constant rain is driving me mad..... I want to get on and am stuck indoors looking out the window looking at the Z....... I can't even measure up and make templates for the audio in the boot as it is chucking it down.......lol Oh well..... I did just pick up my new Injector connectors and Coil pack connectors from post office.......... and they look nice...... Got both sets for £53.75 + £3.90 for vat and £8.00 Royal mail charge for handling.... total of £65.65 for nice clean new connectors...... Just need some dry weather to cut off the old ones and solder on and heat shrink the new ones......lol
  20. I got one of them............Pile of crap that is.....I was told to go and weigh it in and see if I can get something for it...... At the moment I am just adding scrap metal as I go.....
  21. SFS..... they have a nice range of colours and options.....
  22. Funny thing is his tattoo is on his arm........lol
  23. Did you get a smurf stuck in your fan?????
