Hey, you 2 finally managed to get to the same carpark at the same time......lol The cars look nice in the pics.... wish I had been free to meet up, but been working on mine all day....lol Russ
  3. Well here is my masterpiece to make the inner bottom part of the wheel arch and sill end piece...... I looked at a sand bag to make a shaped panel the old school way, forming and cutting one and welding up the cuts, Then I finally decided to make a mould to form the sheet around out of a wooden block..... It may work........and then again more than likely won't......lol But here it is...... And then I made the centre panel replacement section in lovely 3D.......lol
  4. Thanks for the support....... I don't want to have to redo this again in a couple of years..... I want it to last as long as possible.....lol
  5. Happy Birthday Lee.........:happybday:
  6. I had a look.... thanks for that it looks a good idea.... but I think I am going to go with the running silicon pipe down to the original hole and use aluminium pipe and bond it into hole protruding a bit.... Just had family friend round to help with this as he used to build aircraft. He has offered to help when he can and showed me how to fabricate what I need.... I just need a panel beaters leather sandbag now and i am going to try to fabricate the sill end piece in the wheel arch first.... that is going to be the hardest part getting the curve right.... hence the sandbag.....lol I need one for tomorrow, so maybe making one tonight as nowhere can get me one till tuesday next week...... off to get a bag of sand in a moment.....lol
  7. Well rain has stopped play for the moment.... But got a picture of what I have got left and the rust treatment that I have put on to try to cover up while the weather is a bit damp...... I have treated all surface rust to a wire brush down and then coated in Hammerite Kurust... I let that soak in and dry then a spray coat of Hammerite No1 rust beater.... I was thinking of using a Zinc coating as far as I could get into the sill sections that are left? What's the best high zinc content weld through spray to use for the bits I can't get to? Going to have a go at fabricating first panel today.... Going to do the inner sill closing panel, flat one first.... I have made a cardboard template of piece I need using redwine300's pictures to show the rough shapes I want for the hole as the big one has only top section left.... Then weather permitting grind down the last of the rust metal from bottom of inner sill where the spot welds were and clean up..... One panel at a time so I get them right..... The other thing is where to run the Targa drain to....? There is a hole left in the sill if I don't run a pipe through it? As the inner sill panel has a recess for the metal pipe to run through.... I was thinking if using some either copper or alloy pipe and fixing in afterward with some quick steel, but letting the pipe protrude a bit to stop the rotting? Thoughts anyone?
  8. As everyone is saying, start with the cheaper obvious stuff and eliminate..... If the injector and coil pack plugs and connections are clean, check they are getting correct voltage at the right time..... If not then check and clean ECU connector..... If that still doesn't cure it then check the wire from plug to the ECU, use a multimeter with electrics all off..... find colour of each wire from the coil / injectors then find where that colour goes into the ECU.... Set the multimeter to buzzer setting for resistance, one wire from multimeter to (say for example) black with red stripe at coil end and then other end of same wire in the ECU plug.... This will make the multimeter bleep/buzz so you know there is a connection..... And repeat for all the wires..... It will take some time and write down the wires you have already checked...... This maybe teaching you to suck eggs if you already know this....... Russ
  9. I was waiting for you or bird to rip the hell outta me.........lol
  10. Errrm.... isn't it the big red one on right of post next to the add reputation one? lol........
  11. I had this with the blitz air filter, no under shield and some rain...... water cools the wire in the MAF and causes incorrect readings to the ecu, messing up fuel air ratio..... runs like crap and stalls.... horrible....
  12. ^^^ I agree^^^^
  13. Sounds mad..... but (Don't laugh si & bird) I had a smart car....... and it was £20 for 2 weeks driving everywhere...... perfect for a work and back daily driver, very cheap tax, petrol and insurance....... I hated them, till I got to drive one..... like a go cart.... and mine was quite quick for a plastic egg on wheels..... If I didn't have 2 children and a wife, I would still use one for daily commute and run around..... (You can Stop laughing now)...... Plus you can park them in the 300 ashtray......lol
  14. I was given this for my cluster headaches and it does help get you to sleep...... worked sometimes..... Problem I have is my headaches are at night, so they wake me up..... been running on 2 - 4 hours a night for 10 years.... makes for some bad mood swings..... Also tried reflexology and that had me more relaxed.... I even fell asleep during the session.... Sounds mad, but have you tried relaxation cd? I did find one that helped or even some nice chilled music on low with headphones so there isn't silence and nothing..... I struggle with the anticipation of getting to sleep, the more I try to sleep the more awake I end up.... Listening to chilled background music sort of took my mind off everything.... I must admit the past few months have been bad again, same thing but on here till early hours and then laying in bed staring at ceiling trying not to wake everyone else up..... Hope it gets better for you soon..... Russ

  23. I was hoping you were going to say you are a master at welding and fabricating and would come and mend this for me......lol
  24. I did find out why..... the targa drain hole had been welded up on bottom of pipe.... someone must have thought it was a hole in the sill and welded it as well as covering over with seam sealant......grrrrrrrr
  25. I removed the side skirt to get to the rotten O/S rear sill section..... made a large hole where the rust worms had been eating..... I found this when the skirt came off.... I then marked up and cut out as much rust as I could before the wife caught me working on the car and not cleaning the house as promised.....lol I like angle grinders, they are very therapeutic..... Start again tomorrow while she is out with the kids.......lol
