Ok here is little fun for all., check out the photo`s below, back in December 2005 I posted a couple of pics of the cambelts changed that year, and as you will see I even wondered what 2006 would bring. now for anyone who does not know, I have kept every single 300zx cambelt we have changed, each one is dated and the reg of the car added also, may seem odd I know but it works well with our admin and photographic records and provides a trail source of our work and assists members and new owners. POSTED 23-12-2005 For anyone remotely interested what 155 old 300zx cambelts look like, there you are, our tally for the year Wonder how many 2006 will bring Happy Holid…

Does anyone have the exact outer dimensions of both the LWB and the SWB please? Length is the key as I've just measured the garage and found that it is exactly 4 1/2 meters long which I think is too small for a LWB :( ...

  5. Hi Guys, I currently have stock 16" wheels, discs and brakes on my TT LWB and want to upgrade to a good fast road set up (though be aware I am pretty hard on my brakes). I want a set up with decent "cold" performance rather than feeling like I am braking with two blocks of butter when cold and also that doesn't wear like a bitch!!! Jamie at Zedworld had recommended new EBC rotors and Mintex Extreme pads to fit my standard rims but I was also looking at going up to 18"'s - would that open up the opportunity of using bigger discs? If so what would be the best/biggest I could fit with 18" rims and is there a way of still using my stock callipers (don't have the mon…

Another one of those interesting dealer mistakes that have been sadly common over the years and given owners less and less faith in main dealer workshops. The zed in question is from Norway and has been to us previously ( last year ) that previous visit was prompted by the Nissan dealer who after changing the cambelt been unable to set the timing correctly? In fact following the belt change the owner had tried several garages in both Norway and Germany to resolve the errant timing problem that was causing poor performance and using excessive fuel. An Internet search brought him to us and we quickly identified a faulty cas unit that was retarding on acceler…

Well i finally got round to doing my heater matrix yesterday, well i say i, wot i mean is my mate, i just passed the tools,so i think i did do my bit :D any way wot a job took us all day from 8 to 4.30,decided to do the option of not taking out the dash which i think was the right one to make.but let me tell you this it is a c--t of a job to do,you have to have hands like mr strech but the size of a child, and be able to work upside down for most of the day,but in the end its in and working fine :smash::dance: so wot i would say to anyone else who is going to attempt this GOOD LUCK and make sure you have someone with you who has a GOOD knowledge of mechanics.

The car is a 1990 auto tt and when cold it fires up OK, runs correctly and warms up to temp. However when pulling awayin normal auto mode there is a lot of vibration through the car as the gearbox tries to make the first change up. It feels like the oil is thick or the mountings are worn. When the car has covered about 5 miles all this disappears and the box changes as it should. Any thoughts?

Ive had my brand new aftermarket suspension fitted for about 1000 miles now and it still creaks and groans a lot when going over bumps etc. even when i get in and out of the car it creaks. I suspected that it needed time to 'settle down' but is this true? the chap who tuned the suspension said it sounded like the ball joints needed greasing. has anyone else experienced this and what can be done to sort it?

Has anyone got the part number for the pilot bushing for a manual N/A please? want to make sure Nissan know what im on about when i get over there tomorrow. I phoned them today but they said it was something else, and im not sure the old boy on the end of the phone gathered what i was on about, due to the service manuel calling it a "pilot bushing". Though he did say the cost was £3.95 + VAT, so he might be correct. Also, as im on the verge of just saying balls to it, what kind of price should i put my Zed at to sell, bearing in mind its going to need the gear box putting back on, the engine wiring back up (though i think i can manage that with out tools o…

Hi, Thought I'd take my mind off my suspension woes and upload a couple of pics of the quick paint correction test I did at the weekend. Unfortunately the pics were taken on my phone so they aren't of the highest quality. I decided to test on the nose panel, as you can see from the pic, there's a ridiculous amount of swirling in the paint, it's dull and the metallic flake in the paint barely shows through: The panel is clean and free of wax and any other products. I have an orbital polisher along with a selection of Menzerna pads and polishing compounds. After 1 hit on half the panel, this was the result (the linear light rays are the result of m…

  22. Hi all, Stopped off at a garage on my way home to get my front suspension checked because of a loud creaking sound coming from the front suspension. Things didn't start well: the guy comes immediately into the waiting room and goes "who's put a hole in your floor!?" I walk out and sure enough, there's a hole a couple of inches wide going through the sill on the passenger side, then we had a look at the drivers side and it's completely stoved in too  Anyway, the car went up on the ramps and the diagnosis is that the lower ball joint on the passenger side has completely gone, and the upper arm on the driver's side is knackered as well. The guy said it's …

  25. Hi guys, My steering is suddenly exhibiting unpleasant symptoms in as much as it gets heavy when starting to turn (e.g. when cornering after driving straight or trying to straighten up after cornering). Once the steering wheel starts to move it's reasonably light, probably best described as notchy about the neutral position. This is leading me to both over and understeer, too dangerous to drive now :-( I know the system has a leak, my driveway has been collecting puddles of fluid for the last year or so, but it hasn't really been a problem so long as I've kept topping the HICAS reservoir up. I suspect the pump has finally gone but if anyone recognises the s…
