Hi As you can guess i'm looking at insurance quotes for my Zed, i'm not actually going to b1tch about the difference in quotes from company to company. What i want to know is the difference from broker to insurance company. I went to Auto Direct for a quote, got down to £350, best one i could find, usually it was £500 - £1000. towards the end of the process they mentioned the supplier was Aviva, so, i thought, maybe i can get i cheaper going to them, you know, cut out the middle man. Well imagine my surprise when the like for like quote came to £758. Is something going on between the insurance companies and the brokers to keep the brokers in business.. …

I have a 95 TT Slicktop its got standard calipers and disks all round at the moment with unknown pads. It does have braided lines front and rear. Its been recently bled up with no known leaks. It's got good pedal feel. Now, the problem is that is vibrates from hard braking. Through the brake pedal and the car. The car doesnt have (much of) a vibration when not under braking (probably prop shaft bearing wearing a bit of newness off) so its brake related im fairly sure! The calipers have been painted but im not sure if the seals were ever replaced and if not what condition they are in. So my vibration is either coming from a warped disk, or could it be coming from a st…

I've made a start fitting my ARC intercoolers, and wondered what people usually do with the standard ducts. I've done a search but nothing really comes up, I'm guessing the ducts do serve quite an important purpose to channel the flow to the 'coolers. Looks like I may need to cut and extend them? One interesting thing I found out that I didn't know, you get better airflow if you have ducting/vents behind the intercoolers? but on a standard setup theres a washer bottle and all sorts there, have people modified the arch liner too or is that just OTT? :wacko:

This club is amazing and has so many great members, including Madmax I set off nice and early for my drive from Southport to Southampton in my trusty Vito, only took 4 1/2 hours there and 3 1/2 hours back!! and well worth the journey as I met Madmax and madmax`s car, It`s amazing and is going to be a beast!!! no expense has been spared and he is doing a lot himself, all chromed parts new paint work and awesome zed porn everywhere, its going to take some patience to get it all back together, but it will be a show stopper I have returned home with a van full of goodies !! Front set of brembos and discs, chrome powersteering pot, a good engine block, chrome pulley …

Guys, I would really appreciate your help as techical questions come up doing our build. A lot of the parts we are fitting dont have instructions and we are fitting them to other aftermarket parts making things even more complicated. We would really appreciate getting any help or support with questions listed here :blush:. Questions 1. There is a bolt hole that appears to be threaded next to the right hand front water pipe on the engine. Does anything go in this hole? if so what? 2. What the frack are the clips from Nissan that came with all my bits, they can be seen in the bag here and where do they go? 3. With the Tein monoflex suspension wi…

Been making some good progress on the car since all my bits were delivered. Have all the manifolds, tubs, etc on the engine and today put the Tein suspension on the front of the car as well as the Stoptech big brake kit. Pics of the suspension and brakes here http://www.project300tt.com/2010/02/13/tein-monoflex-and-stoptech-big-brake-fitted-on-the-front/ Engine build in progress here http://www.project300tt.com/2010/02/13/engine-build-progress-so-far/

What makes 1 set of coilover better than another? There is such a vast choice of manufacturers available for a range of prices. The job they do is fairly simple and they all seem to have adjustable damping and rebound levels... so, if they all have these attributes, how can 1 be better than another? :cowboy:

Hi guys, Just had the steering column off to try and fix an ongoing steering prob (hopefully fixed now) but on starting up it appears I've lost the above mentioned electrical services. I disconnected a few bits and pieces to make column removal easier and just wondering if I've not connected something back up. I can't see anything loose that should be connected apart from a second, 3 way connector from the ignition switch but Can't find anything to plug this in to :-( The odd thing is that when I first turned the key, halfway through reinstall, I'm sure the pod was working. This car is seriously beginning to do my nut in, I get 2 new problems for every 1 th…

Was going to do them Sunday but had a spare few hours and had a go, easy peasy lemon sqeezie!!!! Job done in less than 3 hours and i waxoyled around the arches aswell, front right wheel is rubbing on something on full lock, and set them on hard and its goodbye teeth!!! setting on soft is just like standard shocks!!!! made up with them, the car handles so much better. I will probably set the ride height a bit higher than it is in the pics as i think its a little too low, and i may get some spacers to bring the rear`s out a little I noticed the camber is way out so i need to get them laser aligned now, heres some pics from today; New and old;

This has probably been discussed many times before but are there any rear diffusers or undertrays made for the zed? I found a universal diffuser which will probably fit with not a lot problems but is it worth it. Im not going for more downforce or improving track capability just the look. I like the look of the rx7 diffuser and apparently it can fit other cars but has anyone ever tried it? The problem im having is buy it and it looks great! Or it doesn't fit and I have waisted £150! Or it looks horrible and everyone says what the hell is that lol! The universal one is okay but im wandering if it will be lost on the back of my zed and not very noticeable. …
