Is there any issues with painting intercoolers, i.e. will it affect the cooling capabilities? I'm not talking thick layers of hammerite lol, just need to freshen up my ARCs as they have a bit of overspray from the former owner. :saddam:

tried to fit my hardpipes this evening and had to resort to putting back on the originals. it seems that the pipes are too long?! also there is a breather pipe from the rocker covers that will not reach the new hardpipe. this pipe has a sediment filter and washer in them so cannot just rerplace with a new bit of pipe. anybody who owns a non turbo ever had this issue. see pics for a better understanding of my problem i can cut the pipes down to get them to fit the space but what do i do about the breathers??

After seeing this picture on a link the other day... I liked the idea, so thought "how hard could that be?" So, a piece of black perspex, saw, dremel, and an hour later... got my air/flow gauge mounted. Dont like the silver rim so will be painting it black before it gets put in the car

Hi Guys i have removed my oem spoiler (1991 TT The spongy one,) and have got a hi level one. Now i assume this new spoiler attaches to the boot lid on the edges. My question is what do i do with the strip of uncovered boot lid, i have removed those clips and smoothed the lid down and will make it smooth, however I seem to think there is a plastic strip the goes on the rough bit where the centre brake light went, but its only a distant memory. Pic attached of area concerned Thanks Guys Rich

One of the bulbs died last week followed by the other side a couple of days later. I put new bulbs in yesterday only to find it don't work. Heres what happens; When i use the indicator stalk the rears and wings flash fast. No voltage measured at the front bulb holders. When I use the hazard switch the rears and wings flash normal speed but again no voltage measured at the fronts. Checked the fuses (both boxes) and ok. Wiggled the hazard switch a good un. Oh yes I taped the relays with a screwdriver (the 'Headlamp Dim' one seems to stick a bit...) Now I'm stumped what to try next? :( ta,

Been offered the chance to reshell to a TT, but as I have a N/A, apart from the pipe work for hicas and the intercoolers is there anything else I should be aware of As I'd need to do a engine change with gear box, before commiting? Also the shell is auto and I have a manual how hard would it be to use the parts already on my car for a manual convertion?

It was mot time on thursday - the car passed with no advisories! The tester did however say that if he followed vosa to the letter, he should turn the car away for being too low as the jack wouldn't slide under  On the way back home from MK to Hemel, I noticed plumes of smoke from the car! Luckily (or unluckily) it turned out to be nothing more serious than the A/C clutch which for some reason had decided to give up the ghost. Does anyone know if (1) the clutch can be changed independently of the compressor? (2) If the compressor could have seized and whether it should be possible to turn the pump by hand? The system was regassed less than 4 month…

I have been looking at loads of pictures of Zeds, interiors, wheels, bodywork etc etc. It seems that quite often people just seem to go to far and end up with some quite tacky features IMO. If I can ever get the car finnished and running I am looking forward to going to some of the shows and meets. Typically do you do better in the shows having customised everything? or can you still do ok with a car that resembles a zed? even if the interior is one colour and you have no UV lights etc? Genuine question as I have never been to a car show before so its all new to me. Money is not an object with my zed but I really have to say that personally I dont want somethin…
