:oops:hi lads , with all my problems i seem to have some thing that hopefully will cure my lack of power , smoke , engine knock (pink) the timing is out by one tooth on all cams , stupid me i timed it up just of the dowls on the timing cover not on the belt , has anyone done this :oops:

I have a Clifford Concept 650 and want to disconnect the battery will I have to put the alarm in to valet mode to do this or can I just disconnect it with out the alarm going off? :confused1:

I know there are a few threads about this and i have looked about but unsure to no if i did anything wrong recently after my minor blow out. in the pic attached i used the jack from the boot and used the sill to lift the car is that the correct way to do it , some say that sill jacking is a big no no and some says its ok its factory recomend, im kinda guessing the thread may go the same way, but more looking for a answer to if i may have done any damge that isnt noticed now or am i just being paranoid

just had a nightmare with an ebay seller. Bought an item from them and basically still had nothing after 10 days so in that time i was onto them several times saying where is my item. After 10 days i had enough so i said fine just give me a refund ill make other arrangements and then they ignored that and sent me an email saying that they had sent me another part recorded delivery that i ended up getting after 14 days in total. Just asked for a return address that i asked for when they sent the item recorded delivery and now saying that they do not accept returns as the item is not faulty. hi, has anyone got any idea`s of what is the best clutch to fit to a mildly modified twin tub z(exhaust front mount boost controller air filter chipped ecu) i`m hoping for the car to make around the 350bhp mark but clutch started slipping whilst on the rollers.the clutch thats in at the min is a new standard replacement exedy item.

Well after spending the weekend looking for a vacuum leak and being unable to find one and playing around with the maf to no effect a new symptom cropped up today. The car really struggles to accelerate now in any gear, at any speed, at any revs. When i brake the engine cuts out, and when cold the oil pressure is nearly off the top of the guage. Am i right in thinking that this is a definate sign of PCV valve failure? Im crap when it comes to mechanics and so are my local garages, wanna make sure that if i am going to attempt to replace something its the right part. Looking at the how to guides its pretty straight forward, but just a pain.

Hi As you can guess i'm looking at insurance quotes for my Zed, i'm not actually going to b1tch about the difference in quotes from company to company. What i want to know is the difference from broker to insurance company. I went to Auto Direct for a quote, got down to £350, best one i could find, usually it was £500 - £1000. towards the end of the process they mentioned the supplier was Aviva, so, i thought, maybe i can get i cheaper going to them, you know, cut out the middle man. Just ordered a crome radiator hardpipe and hoses as one of my coolant hoses has decided to develop a small split must be the cold weather however that doesnt leave me many old hoses to swap out now as they are all getting very old. I have a 95 TT Slicktop its got standard calipers and disks all round at the moment with unknown pads. It does have braided lines front and rear. Its been recently bled up with no known leaks. It's got good pedal feel. Now, the problem is that is vibrates from hard braking. Through the brake pedal and the car. The car doesnt have (much of) a vibration when not under braking (probably prop shaft bearing wearing a bit of newness off) so its brake related im fairly sure! The calipers have been painted but im not sure if the seals were ever replaced and if not what condition they are in. So my vibration is either coming from a warped disk, or could it be coming from a st…

Have just rebuilt my engine still a bit tappy on top but i noticed yesturday after a long run , i left it idiling for about 15 mins the passenger side exhaust started giving loads of white smoke i revd it and it cleared but 10 mins later it did the same thing , could it be that turbo

I've made a start fitting my ARC intercoolers, and wondered what people usually do with the standard ducts. I've done a search but nothing really comes up, I'm guessing the ducts do serve quite an important purpose to channel the flow to the 'coolers. Looks like I may need to cut and extend them? One interesting thing I found out that I didn't know, you get better airflow if you have ducting/vents behind the intercoolers? but on a standard setup theres a washer bottle and all sorts there, have people modified the arch liner too or is that just OTT? :wacko:

what that thing called that cover the bottom of the engine bay up to stop all the crap from flicking up from the roads is it some type of lining like the arch lining , if so what the correct name for it and what is it ment to look like Thanks
