:huh:okay here it goes , set my timing to 25 btdc last night and a harsh knock only when i blip the thrrottle , not in it high in the rev range here is my ecu number UJ A18-A98 MD7 2420 could this be pinking , or dett , what can i do , my valve timing was out one tooth sorted that , good power , i rebuild the engine with all new bearings and rings , PLEASE HELP , will i have to take her out :no:

Zs been garaged for a couple of months. Took it out tonight and had frightening problem with headlights. All seemed well on dipped headlights, went to full beam - still fine. A few minutes later, switched back to dipped and had no headlights at all!!! Flicked the stalk a few times - full beam always reliable but dipped only returned one time in 4(ish) flicks, the other 3, no headlights. The only reliable way to return to dipped lights seems to be to pull the stalk right up (headlight flash) and when I let it go, I have dipped headlights. Too dark to look tonight - will try tomorrow. I'm guessing it's the stalk. Sealed unit? Any way to use contact cleaner? E…

Why oh why is it that when I want to buy something from blokes on this site I get the same answer..." make me an offer ". But when someone wants something from me they ask "what do you want for it mate". In Yorkshire we have a system called buying and selling for a set price. If you are selling something and you want £10 for it you say " the price is £10 if you want it give me £10 ". This also has the opposite affect so if one wants to buy something one knows the price ie £10! If we could roll this system out to the lesser counties business would become much less complicated I think :clap::thumbup1::biggrin:

If I decide to keep the car as a n/a, what is the most bhp, which can be achieved. and will it be pretty quick, I know it wont be a fast as a turbo just wondering. Its an auto but will be doing the manual conversion Thanks for the advice Mark

Have Teain monoflex on the car at the moment. Intend to use the car a bit more this summer now I've sold the 350z and find the Tein's a little to harsh. So need some suggestions / advice to keep it firm but a little softer and more country road friendly. Whats the standard set up spring rates? Options I guess are Eibachs and std shocks or new coilovers but softer spring rate. Anyone know std spring rates, Eibach rates, other coil over set ups?

hi can anyone help. ive purchased 2 maf s and both dont work on my 300zx tt. the one ive got on now works fine,but the previous owner cut one sideof the maf to have a slide on filter. ive purchased a dual intake so i needed a new maf. but like i said ive had 2 now and none of them work. my car is mis firing and spluttering. what could be wrong? any help please

Hi , well as the title says, i have a 300zx Twin Turbo Manual and i'd like to swap it for a n/a auto. Cars around the £2500 mark would warrent a like for like swap, others, well i'm sure we can come to some arrangement. A few pics of my car, (more on request) only 2 issues, it doesn't have the oem spoiler on anymore as i've got a high level one waiting to go on, and rear window is peeling, strange but true, however i have a spare that just needs to be put in, Health reasons force me to do this, (Peripheral Neuropathy in left foot) otherwise i wouldn't swap this for the world! Hi guys, I'm trying not to be lazy and have searched the site, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Are there any threads that can give the low-down on wheel spacers? I know very little about them but do know that I would like both my front and rear wheels to move out just that little bit. I suppose what I would like to know is: - what are they? - how are they fitted? - what kind of sizes can you get? - what are the pros and cons? - do they wear out and how often? - where can I get them from? The questions may sound abit simple, but any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Anybody had any experience with the Bluetooth enabled A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) phone and head unit for in-car entertainment? I've got a HTC Touch Diamond at the moment which I believe is A2DP capable, so just wondering if any one is familiar with how it performs / how it operates. Like, do you first transfer the music from phone to head unit? Or can it stream? Can you control the phone's playlist via the head unit? Or does this also require support for AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile)? Hi all, My 300ZX has a minor oil burning problem but I don't know from where! If she is started, taken for a run straight away and isn't in stop/start traffic, there is no problem. But if she is left on tickover from cold start, or is in slow stop/start traffic from start, inevitably I get an embarrassing plume of white smoke emitted from the exhaust! Seems to only be from one side too... I've recently had the 2 filters in the front wings replaced, the PCVs were done about 7K miles go so it shouldn't be them, and I'm assuming the mechanics put the right oil in when it last had an oil and filter change (about 1500 miles ago). Also it isn't smoking …

Right, loving the 300 power.. but there's one thing that nags me. It doesn't feel as fast as it is. Some cars like evo's type R's etc FEEL fast even if they aren't hugely quick. I understand a bigger turbo (perhaps a T28) would result in a bit of lag then a kick in the kaboose, but is there any other way of getting that? Will jumping the PSI from stock to 15 result in the same effect? Passangers get bored despite me being good at getting the back out around corners

Need some more help and advice lol! One more thing on my list of parts I want to buy for my zed is new hoses. Now for some reason im liking the idea of having the signature purple Do-Luck hoses. Am I right in thinking only the one hose fits from a twin turbo? You can get just standard hoses 3m or 4m in purple for water etc so thats all right. I had a look on smithys place to see if you can get a matching brake booster hoses but there not available in purple. Is there any where else I can try? Or should I just pick a different colour to make it easy lol!

Wondered if anyone interested in a K reg.swb slicktop shell or serious parts from one? Have first refusal on a full zed Non turbo with just a broken auto box, can sell as whole car ( just needs an auto box) or may part out if enough interest. Thanks Jeff

I got the lambo doors system from luke,it used to work just fine but i didnt use the car for almost a year or so. When i try to take her out for a spin and try to open the doors, the doors drop a little bit and the shocks dont work now, any help on how can i fix it! thanks
