General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hi folks, I'm trying to find the source of my battery drain when i came accross this.... Its below the fuse box low in the foot well. The pink and green wire has been cut, why i dont know. Any help would be much apprieciated. Also, tested all the fuses with no drop in current but when i pull the fuse (Ign Skid Cont) under the bonnet the current drops. anyone else had the same problems and if so, how do i find the drain from there. i have a crapy old j rej pajero and all the glow plugs are nackerd so it had to be turned over for 30 - 60 seconds before it would start, today the battery's just went flat afer a minute or so of turning over so i put jump leads on it from my other crapy j rej shogun and nothing, just clicking, so i think ive nackerd the starter!? i know this isnt a zed but i thought maby one of you guys have maby tried/or know if you can bump start an auto? im 99.9% sure you cant but maby theres a trick to it or somthing as ive never actually tried?? thanks in advance for any help.. oh and funky si.... before you say it! yes i know i should of just got…

ok this is a real head scratcher my car has stopped running i have done all my checks and cleaned everything i have just checked my ecu and im getting a code 55 which means there isnt anything wrong with the car yet she is still not running ahhhhhhh help anyone before i explode

I need help, I just bought a Z a week ago so i'm very new to all this. I was giving it a bit of beans earlier in 2nd gear when I heard a crunch and all my battery, abs and 'light' came on. The car smelt a bit too. Still starts and runs but i'm afraid to drive it at the moment just incase its something serious. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Been out for a drink with the brother inlaw , 1 pint bitter shandy and a orang juice, droped him off , hit the round about and next to me a souped up x19 , lights change floor it and bingo blue lights , they said did i know the speed i got up to, yes officer 75mph no sir 127mph , breatherlised read 0 , got given a section 59 and told that if it had been a traffic car with men wearing white hats ,it would have been my lot , they where good and polite, and then had a chat and said our farwells . so one thing ive to remamber is to wear my glasses it would have save me a section 59 LOL:mad2:at myself

Hi everyone Has anyone fitted the bigger rad and electric fan combo thats on Ebay for £169??? Was looking at it thinking it looks quite good especially as our cars need more cooling. Have many people removed their viscous coupling and replaced it with an electric fan and has anyone noticed diffrences or experienced any probs? Mines an auto so what cooler have people used to replace standard Rad for auto box cooler?? Jase

Im probably setting myself up for a flaming here, but has anyone ever ratted a Z You know rust n matt black everywhere :D I intend to get myself a Z in the very near future, i just thought that i could get a cosmetically challenged one (thats mechanically sound) and go nuts on it. What do you guys think?

Branson Z Fest is held every year in Branson, Missouri. Caters for all the Z car range, S series, Skylines and G series Nissans. I've not been yet, but keep getting bugged my 3ZC admin of whom I've been to other Z shows across the US to. Initial plan was to meet up with some crazy guys in LA who drive cross country via Oregan!!! That was a 5 day drive in a Z which would have been fun, but I don't have that sort of time since I'll be down in San Diego mostly. So, I'm flying into Springfield (MO) from Los Angeles. As you can see on my car i have alloys on. The only problem i have is what to clean them with. They are alloy centers and chrome rimmed. Whats the best way of cleaning the chrome as i dont want to scratch them. What do others use??

Hi guys. Well im going to want to swop my alloys at somepoint for other ones......... not sure what i like tho, but would prefer some nice deepdish wheels. Was wondering what you guys think match a silver zed? Been toying on keeping the rota alloys i have tho to be honest, but its not got that deepdish look i am after. Any opinions/pictures/websites that are recommended? Hopefulyl i will have luck like baz on ebay one night.lol!!!:hammer:

with my lpenum removal and gaskest and bits and pieces etc i was looking at the forum on smooth engine bays as i would ideally like to have alot of other stuff out of sight and showing pretty much just the plenum and cam covers. im also looking into getting some skins but i was wondering if any of you knew what in the engine bay could be removed or relocated to make my engine bay as tidy as possible :) i can see some of you have very nice smooth engine bays with little shown and wondered if you could advise on what you did for that result thanks guys

ordered loads of stuff for my engine pull and also got all vac and water pipe replacements ordered. apparently there was a right up on here that shows a guide on where all the pipes to be changed are and how i replace all of them in the best positions. does anyone have access to this? i have used searched but getting tons of results on the forum and getting a bit lost :(

Hi Chaps, as some of you may know from an earlier thread, I've recently fitted a Mongoose exhaust and since then I've had the dreaded smoking turbo at idle syndrome. Its thought that the change in exhaust back pressure has highlighted failing turbo oil seals on the exhaust side hence the light blue/grey smoke at idle only. Any how, since then and only since the exhaust change, I get an occasional pop/bang from the exhaust when I blip the throttle at idle. It is very infrequent, but still its a concern. It doesn't do it at high revs or on the move, only occasionally if I blip the thottle at warm idle. Could this be a result of turbo failure and the oil passing into…

Hi Dan, Following much deliberation i have decided to buy a Stillen TypeIII front lip - i know you mentioned on another thread that you have recently had a delivery so any orders would be subject to quite a long wait for delivery, Can you quote for one of the TT Type III lips with delivery mate? CAN ANYONE HELP IVE BOUGHT MY FIRST ZX ON A BUDGET ITS A N/A AUTO WITH LOW MILES AND IN FAIRLY GOOD NICK BUT ONE PROBLEM IM HAVIN IS THE SPEEDO IS MEGA ERRATIC THE NEEDLE FLICKS UP AND DOWN AND SOMETIMES NOT AT ALL WHICH CAUSES SOME INTRESTING HANDLING ISSUES AT SPEED WHEN THE SPEED DEPENDANT STREERING PACKS UP IVE CHECKED THE WIRING AND ALL IS OK AND THE CAR IS STILL RUNNING IN KM HELP I LOVE THE CAR BUT NEED TO SORT THIS!!!:cursing:

i currently have 265/35/18 on the rear of my z is that the optimum size for the rolling diameter or should it be a 40 profile tyre?
