OK My car currently has a set of springs on it, however the front sits at a brilliant height and the tyres just tuck into the arches nicely, but the back has about 3 inches between the tyres and the arches. I'm not sure of the brand of springs on my car, but I want the back to drop as low as the front- I know springs are a funny one and tend to result in a rear or front biased drop but does anybody know of a set of springs for the 300 which will give a nice even low drop? Having had about 6 sets of really expensive coilovers I don't think I'm interested in going down this route again as the road to my work is too unforgiving (potholes, raised drains, cracked tarmac the wo…

Interesting one this that I think may be of interest to some, the enthusiastic owner of this nice twin turbo zed bought it from a dealer before Christmas, however from day one it was not quite right somehow and over the past few months the running issues had got worse. However a more pressing water leak issue and heater matrix failure developed recently and hence why we got involved. The main water leak was quickly established as a pin holed steel water matrix pipe, and a very, very leaky matrix. The matrix and pipe where subsequently changed, the extremely rusty brown water we flushed from the system was more than likely a contributor to the two leaks. So tha…

Iv'e got a weak clicking from one of my injectors and the piston isn't firing. Ive checked for spark & its fine. Is there a way of testing the injector electronically (Multimeter). If I do go for injector replacement and pull the plenum, what seals gaskets etc will I require & where's the best place to purchase them? Many thanks.

Next weekend my car is being resprayed and I have spent some of this afternoon preparing the car for it. Its having a new front wing after its "mishap" with the wheel and a general tidy up as there is some paint missing on the bumpers and a fairly poor arch repair. Also going to sort out the rusted intercooler piping and generally make the car look like it should! So I've removed both door cards, sill trim, rear/bottom boot trim, upper boot trim and the spoiler today. As well as head light seals, and taken bolts out of the bumper and wing to try and speed us up next thursday night when it goes into the workshop. Plan is thursday night when im back from work to t…

Hi All, I've had a problem develop today. When the car is driving slowly or stationary it has started to stall. It's done it a few times today but it doersn't happen all the time? there is next to know rough idle just the occasional fluxuation. the revs wil then drop down to almost zero then stop. Fitted an alarm yesterday so i disconnected all that as i don't believe in coincidence but it still did it so i ruled that out. My first thought is an idle air control valve. Any thoughts and ideas appreciated. Also, if it is the IAC valve, how much do these cost for Z's, where from and how easy to fit? Cheers Peter

all instructions for carrying out the o2 sensor test on a standard ecu say with each sensor test it should blink over 5 times in 10 seconds but on mine, each sensor test flashed the light on for 15 seconds then off for 5 seconds then repeated, is this just a different result due to it not being the standard ecu and if so does that flashing pattern mean its all good?

No surprises that alloy wheels can be repaired but how far do you go, check out the first pic of an innocent looking wheel, but the following two show a repair to the rear of the rim which is eye wateringly large, spoke to the owner who had become aware of the repaired wheel only after purchasing the zed. We discussed the ins and outs of the repair and came up with the view although messy looking it was had been some time ago and was very securely done and all balanced up..... but new wheels soon as really.
