Next weekend my car is being resprayed and I have spent some of this afternoon preparing the car for it. Its having a new front wing after its "mishap" with the wheel and a general tidy up as there is some paint missing on the bumpers and a fairly poor arch repair. Also going to sort out the rusted intercooler piping and generally make the car look like it should! So I've removed both door cards, sill trim, rear/bottom boot trim, upper boot trim and the spoiler today. Hi All, I've had a problem develop today. When the car is driving slowly or stationary it has started to stall. It's done it a few times today but it doersn't happen all the time? there is next to know rough idle just the occasional fluxuation. the revs wil then drop down to almost zero then stop. Fitted an alarm yesterday so i disconnected all that as i don't believe in coincidence but it still did it so i ruled that out. My first thought is an idle air control valve. Any thoughts and ideas appreciated. Also, if it is the IAC valve, how much do these cost for Z's, where from and how easy to fit? Cheers Peter

all instructions for carrying out the o2 sensor test on a standard ecu say with each sensor test it should blink over 5 times in 10 seconds but on mine, each sensor test flashed the light on for 15 seconds then off for 5 seconds then repeated, is this just a different result due to it not being the standard ecu and if so does that flashing pattern mean its all good?

Just found on Ebay someone selling brackets to alow you to fit 315mm BMW E36 M3 brake discs to the 300zx. Has anyone done this? Is it worth it? Cheers, Chris.

I`ve been messing all weekend trying to get the double din facier to look right, so here it is not quite finished, a little more sanding and shes ready for the paint. Also been painting the headlight inners and might be going for the stealth look, but not quite sure yet? I still like the chrome headlights:whistling:

Not a regular sight 3 zeds in one place, but I have been let down by Dirtystu who was meant to pick the yellow car up this weekend but has strangley gone quiet recently :whistling: somehow i thought he was dreamer :sleeping: Well here we have my 3 zeds in one place, I only realised today I now own 5 zeds!!!

I need someone to do my setup and then tune the car after it is run in, any ideas who is any good at this kind of stuff down south? Its a stand alone AEM management system

No surprises that alloy wheels can be repaired but how far do you go, check out the first pic of an innocent looking wheel, but the following two show a repair to the rear of the rim which is eye wateringly large, spoke to the owner who had become aware of the repaired wheel only after purchasing the zed. We discussed the ins and outs of the repair and came up with the view although messy looking it was had been some time ago and was very securely done and all balanced up..... but new wheels soon as really. carried out a diagnostic and got code 12 and 13 when i disconnect the maf the revs pick up, is this showing that the connection is ok but likely a faulty unit? also the coolant temp sensor, when i disconnect it, the front fan kicks in then goes off when reconnected, does this show that the connections are ok but possibly faulty sensor? also done the o2 sensor test while i had access to the ecu, the ecu is an impul z32a-1262 if that means anything to anyone? i put this as the instructions i followed said with each sensor test it should blink over 5 times in 10 seconds but on mine, each sensor test flashed the light on for 15 seconds then off for 5 seconds th…

Ok When The car is started from cold, rev's around 1500. Once warmed up, the rev's will drop to 1200, and then to 800 when she wants, doesnt seem to be consistent. She's an N/A if that makes a difference Any suggestions. Assume the above with aircon off!!

Jimmer and FunkySi came down yesterday, a big thanks for all the help!!. The timing belt is now on and Jimmer also put my new cams in, really posh new intake sprockets and new turbo oil feeds. :w00t: There are still a few little bits to do on the Engine before it gets its final fit. But it had to go in the hole so I can get someone out to make me some new power steering and NOS pipes up.

Guys I need to fabricate some bits to get my Recaros to fit into my Zed. I have the universal slider and fitting kit but its not even close. They supply them with a load of steel to help you fabricate something!. Anyhows im going to need to do some welding can someone please let me know what I need to buy ie, what welder, wire mask etc. Im not looking for proffesional stuff just something easy to use and learn on. thanks

Just bolted seats back in plugged in after checking fuses [ok] started car warning light went out power steering back on tried indicators and warning light came back on and no power steering cant get belt light back off !!!!! Any siggestions or where i can find good auot electrician in hampshire

HI Thanks for replies still got warning light on for seatbelts no indicators or power steering im baffled at mo was looking into fuses but everything is in japanese does anyone know if the three are linked, i thought i saw a thread with a translation of fuse cover on but cant find it only got owners manual and all that says is to change fuse if its gone, if anyone can help would be appreciated its doing my head in at mo

Jimmer and I spotted a red Z32 heading West bound on the M27 about 10am yesterday. Think is was a JDM.
