General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Ive got a strange one, This hasnt happened before now twice in one day, TT auto, driving absolutely fine then just dies, all the dash lights up like a xmas tree, loose brakes steering everything. once stopped back into park starts first time. Its done it twice as i say and thankfully at low speeds, but obviously someing i wanna fix asap. Any suggestions?? Cheers Craig

got car back from garage pass window aint working,cut long story short had clutch done awhile ago, took it to another garage and they said earth wire not connected to box thats why hey presto it worked where is the earth on the box? so i can put it back

A friend of mine spent a while fitting these to my car today, nice looking kit until you start to try and fit them so I thought I would share our experience through today. First of all the braided lines only come with on grommet/fixing item on to secure them to the car, not a huge issue as we have sorted something similar using some inside out fuel line etc etc (Inspired piece of engineering!) Secondly there is only adjustment in the kit, (via spacers/shims/washes) in one direction, sadly the 300zx brackets really need it in the alternative direction. The result of this is taht you end up with a caliper that doesnt sit in the correct position, the only solutions…

I was in the black z31, you were behind me in a red z32 for a couple of miles all the way from Govan to more or less city centre when I took off after The Quay...and you failed to entertain me by keeping up or wasting me up the inside :wink: Nice front end, that's all I could see in my wing mirror...couldn't see anything out of my rear view mirror thanks to my sagging headliner!! :blushing: and yes it was filthy, only its second run of the year and was treated to a wash later in the afternoon.

I was needing a clued up Z Mechanic to look at my newly aquired car as it was running like a bag of spanners and smoking more than Dierdre Barlow! What a awesome day. had a little bit of a nightmare and a few heart attacks along the way lol, but was a very good day. Even managed to figure out why all of a sudden one of the coil packs stopped working. (for anyone who thinks they have a coil pack problem, check and make sure to reseat the rubber bung on the Wiring harness loom Coilpack connection socket, or you do not get a good contact, thus stopping your coil pack working) Anyway, was checking the injector connectors on Pablio's car, and they were all lovely and green, so started cleaning them up, got 3 done and started the engine, did the old screw driver on the top and listen trick, noticed that number…

From looking at a couple of threads it seems I need to take out the rear upright and bench seat and then the rear side panels, and drill a hole in the window surround trim, can I do this with it in situ or have I GOT to take it off? Obviously I'll need a position on where to drill the hole in the trim does anyone have a picture of one handy?

has anyone one done or know of a fitting guide for the 99 spec headlight inserts, ive got the headlights apart inserts sprayed just not sure of the best way of securing the inserts and what to use to reseal the lights, any advice appreciated cheers Craig

just had a jap spec shell painted to put all my parts onto, all as been going great until i got to the seat belts, mine is a uk and seat belts aint in the doors, had my uk doors painted, the problem is everything fits exept the top belt on the harness the hole is their but no thread, as anyone else come across this problem and had a way of solving it, thank you

about 14:30 today saw a nice gunmetal grey zed with black rims coming out from medway tunnel heading towards roundabout for medway city estate. couldnt see reg or anything as was parked well away from the road but looked nice. also looked like it had smooth boot no spoiler at all

I'm getting a complete TT engine next week, thats not been in a car for a while. It apparently cost someone a lot of money as its had work done to it to increase power, is there anyway I can check this without doing the obvious and stripping it down? compression test etc? :huh:

Today with just a little bit of help :helpsmilie: we all managed to get a whole load of stuff done to the zed. We have really broke the back of this thing now, so with a bit of luck and someone to sort out the AEM EMS it should be startable in the next few weeks maybe :scared:. I cant say thanks enough to everyone today, its a difficult project as almost everything is an upgrade or a relocation. Its a big build and nothing is ever simple. Jimmer managed to put the twin plate barstool clutch in swiftly followed by the brand spanking new gearbox on the engine. We then managed to get the engine and box in the car in one piece!!. Si kept nipping off in the Porker …

Hi can anyone supply or tell me where i can buy a Lamda sensor bung and also an Egt bung? I was given a Egt bung to only find its the wrong size. The hole for the Egt is for a guage size sensor, The one ive got is for the manifold i think. Cheers Dan

I would just like to say a big thanks to Baz for his hospitality today when i came to collect my stainless exhaust from him, It`s the first time we had met after 8 months of banter on the club and he was just how i thought he would be, funny and gay :clown:!!
