First of all..................Perfect weather for the zed!!!! Well i was away in perth today golfing...........while driving there, went to have a blast off one of the roundabouts, tho the car spluttered (if that makes sence?) anyways thought best just sit and take it easy so i did. Went and played some golf in the nice sunshine, enjoyed it even with a high score.lol. Back to the zed on the motorway heading home. my friend pulls up beside me in his rx-8 and all the zed could do is sit with him, was spluttering again, didnt feel like the turbos where going what-so-ever and it showed as i could not pass him when i should have been able to easily do it. …

  3. Hi As you know, have been rebuilding/chroming/polishing everything in the engine bay recently, and now want to balance out the bling with some colour (RED of course) and some carbon fibre. (BTW thanks to Andy/Ant et al for sharing there inspiring builds). I have fabricated my own engine skins (amongst other things :punk:) and they are now 98% final fit; rather than paint these the body colour - I am thinking I may re-make (using the current as a mould) in cf or kevlar. Now as my car will either be RED or BLACK when it's completed, I am more inclined to go for cf as that will go with either nicely so... HELP & ADVICE BIT: Here are a couple of shots o…

  5. as above i am looking to do my interiora sort of light cream colour and to do my seats the same but with blue piping. can anyone recommend a DIY kit? i would prefer leather or imitation but then again i can see J1mmytt's interior is suede and also looks good. going to a specialist at this stage is not an option and would like to keep the costs down by doing it myself. sort of liek this effect but a bit light and blue piping (optional on the piping) cheers :)

Right i am completely baffled by this smoking business. i have searched here and there, on you tube, google. in the library, and even the archived sections. and so far not one post or anything has come close to describing what my smoking is like. I'm still yet to get a compression tester done, but from what i know it could be one of 3 things. 1, PCV valves, but as I'm yet to get down to the car long enough to get them off and see if they are clogged. and that the pipe work is ok. 2, Head Gasket is on the way out. but no compression tester to check the compression on the cylinders. 3, Too much oil in the engine, though this is hard to tell as the dip …

Guys Have a few questions that I would really appreciate some help with. 1. There is a pipe that comes out of the fuel rail on the top right hand corner where does it go? 2. I have monster front pipes, do they look like they are in the right position? also I dont seem to have any mounting points or rubbers. Should their be something here on the back of the gearbox?. 3. In the wheel arch filled behind the battery there is an old coolent top up bottle, it looks like the pipe used to feed into the bottom of the stock rad??? do I keep this and put the pipe into the outlet pipe just under the filler cap on the new bigger rad?.

  10. right there has been a couple of threads with regards to the durability of the powertrix upper arms. now i thought i would tell you my story. i have had squeaking and clunking coming from my z for a LOOOONNNG time from the suspension on the front. its passed 3 mot's so far because at the time it wasnt making the noise, i was unable to duplicate the clunk or squeak when stationary so trying to source the problem was a long and tedious task. well last weekend i decided to check my upper link arms. (i regularly check them and grease over them to stop them from rusting up. to my suprise when i removed the arm (still in the main bracket) the arm was stiff to move. a…

seeing as I have just fitted a new rear trim, I am thinking about getting a Fairlady Z sign for the nearside of it. Have seen these on ebay but they are only 73mm long, so to me thats a bit small and out of proportion, 100mm will be better. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200459869974&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Any views on that and some pics of yours at the back will be gratefully received. thank you, andy.

pulled the engine on my 1990 auto TT a few weeks ago and have only just got round to re-fitting it. Everything is all plumbed in fine apart from the alternator. I have forgot how the wires go. I have a small metal thingy with a wire coming off with a hoop electrical terminal on the end, two other wires with hoops on the end and an electrical connection with some other wires in. Now i know the electrical connection goes into the alt (only place it can go), but where do the others go? If possible, does anyone have any pictures of it? Thanks

  25. Guys, I have the chance to get a Series 1, 2+2 N/A automatic jap import breaker for small money. The interior is quite tatty so I wouldn't really expect to sell any part of it. Considering I have the TT slicktop and bar the power steering pump which may come in handy at a later stage is it worth taking? Is there a market for a N/A engine or auto gear box for example or any other parts for that matter? It just may be more trouble than its worth. Also as you see from my location, the market would be limited for any parts, as sending major bits across the water to the UK would probably make it prohibitively expensive. Now that I have just stated this, then the ques…
