hi all . if you have ever gone on the ozzy owners site you may have seen my post on there . if not here goes . firstly remove all seals from car , around doors , targa tops . clean all metal as clean as clean you can get it . fill your bath with hot water and a load of fairy liquid and throw all the seals in. when i done mine i left them in for about 5 hours and just kept topping up the hot water . all of the crap that has built up over the years in the seals (drain holes running through the seals)will soften and with a soft cloth can be cleaned out . a good method is to take the shower head off and blast water through the seals .you will be amazed at the a…

  6. ok ive sorta havent bothered with the Z since ive got the Supra, but i had it out the garage today & realized its still one bad car! :) the car doesnt have the HICAS anymore. when i put the TT pump on initially, it worked fine, but then i had a leak, and ruined the pump. it was either the leak, or the fact that i didnt remove the piston thing in the side, which goes to the Hicas solenoid. anyway i got a replacement pump, and this time removed the piston thing for the HICAS. pump worked fine for 1 day, then went completly. ive tried routing the Hicas take-off back to the resivour, but still nothing. did i buy a broken pump? …

After a lot of soul searching I have decided to do an auto conversion on my manual. Main reason for this is that my Porsche is Tiptronic and I love not needing to bother changing gear. I went in someone elses zed that was an auto and it was a great drive!. I have just sent back my brand new Manual box and twin plate carbon clutch to buy the new bits I need for my conversion :thumbup1:. Looking forward to going auto

After getting the Z back on the road and mot and taxing her. After a months flawless use apart from a bit of a starting issue the gear box decided to fail on me last wednesday, and was out of my means to fix financially. I have sold to another 300zx person who i think is gonna break or make mine good he does not know yet but will point him here also for advice if he gets issues. I would like to thank all on here for advice and help during my 2 years in Z world and hope to have another Z one day. Regards Phantom 2080

My starter motor is making some funny noise. as i know its about to die. A few phone calls later, just to give an idea of the vast difference on price Starter motor for a manual TT. Not refurb but a new OEM item. Local car parts suplliers £231.75 + vat Nissan direct £265. + vat. Found a place online Hillmart alternators and starters £109.17 +vat (£4.95) delivery This is not a refurbed one, but new, even has the same manuf (mitsubishi) and part number as the one i have. Bargain. Always worth getting some prices from a few places. If anyone knows of cheaper place please let me know

Hi All, I haven't had the car that long and I need to rebuild my front offside brake caliper as according to my friend it has a lazy piston? I haven't had a proper look at the caliper yet and I'm assuming that it will have a number pressed on it somewhere, however, I was wondering if anyone could confirm whether or not it is a standard 300zx caliper just with a bigger adaptor and disc from this photo? Will be ordering a rebuild kit from biggred.co.uk for £30.00 unless there is anyone on here that sells them? Pic here; Thanks in advance

Im going to be welding up and respraying the rear hatch. Id like to replace the glass trim at the same time and ill use a universal trim. Question is do i have to remove the glass and if so how do i do it without smashing it. its a swb so replacement glass will be a pain to get hold off. i think i will get a much better respray result with the glass out as i hate that nasty look of not bothering to remove trim when spraying. Anyone help?

Obviously boost gauges are out but do things like air fuel ratio meter or apexi afc devices work with a na? Cheers

  18. Its come to light this evening that some types of caliper mounting brackets could be unsafe! the ones in question are the same as attached to my TT and if the majority of the votes say they are NOT safe i will be removing them!! I purchsed the Evo brembo calipers, discs and mounting brackets 3rd hand from a member and had no worries when attaching them to my car, I did ask for a 2nd opinion from my mate in the fabrication trade to see if the were ok, we both said as the bolt is going right through the bracket and into the caliper it could never come off even in the unlikley event of the weld breaking! Please dont think i am trying to defend my self, i need to kn…

  23. Hi guys, Finally put my car on the dyno yesterday. Fuelling is looking good but one thing that's been pretty obvious for a while and is now even more obvious is that the wastegates are opening too early, even with the Apex boost controller maxed out. The tubs are hybrids based on the stock items and should be good for at least 400HP, boost is not quite making 1 bar on the dyno altho it can get to just over a bar on the road. Anyone aware of any aftermarket or uprated actuators being available?? Alternatively, is a bodge possible with stronger springs? There's plenty of duty left to spare in the injectors (555cc), they didn't get above 65%. Max corrected HP …

Just wanted to make a thread to make everyone aware of the great workmanship and service carried out by none other than Zedworld! Well, after having my car locked away for almost a year without starting it since the auto box packed up – I decided on an auto-manual conversion & an MOT from Zedworld. So, after a 400mile round trip to Tamworth, I collected my car yesterday :D When I arrived Jamie took me out in my Z with the trade plates on as soon as I got down to see what I thought of the change, the car drives like a dream and pulls like a train now! – No more worries about the cars reliability, my faith in my car has been restored! They also…
