bought a waterpump off a fellow zedder and got it in post lovely jubbly and bloody fast. only problem is when looking at fitting guides on this forum i can see a big difference in the size of the belt drive on the water pump. mine looks quite a bit smaller :( would this mean my pump wont fit at all or would it fit but turn at a rate too fast? i will get pictures after work. hoping i can use it :(

H Guys Got one of these, and just wondering if anyone has actually fitted one themselves rather than send it off to the body shop.... if so, im after ways of securing it to the tailgate. The one i've got does not just 'sit' in the right place but can be persuaded with some clamps, is this usual?. From what i can see there are only 2 flat areas that come into face to face contact, which i hardly think would be enough to hold it in place with all the torsion going on. ***Sorry, Double posting - please feel free to delete***

Hi all, Looking to get some figures and advice together on a respray for the Zed as the 20 year old paint is starting to suffer a bit and there's dents and stone chips all over the place, the front passenger side arch has some rust in it and the rear drivers side is starting to bubble :censored:. So questions are: Passenger side front, am I better off replacing the whole wing or cutting out and re-welding? Rear Drivers side I guess we'll have to cut out and re-weld? (When I say I what I mean is body shop) How much should I be looking at for a same colour respray in Arctic white? And lastly can you guys recommend a good body shop to take this wor…

Hi, my 1989 TT seems to be running rich. The fuel economy even for this car is terrible. 10 mpg around town taking it very easy, 15-20 on a run. The car is standard as far as I know apart from Cat-Back stainless steel exhaust system( standra manifold I believe). The 5 inch tailpipe inners are coated with soot. My father pointed this out. Just wondered whether it was an easy jot to tune the car or is an ECU issue??? zind

I called Darren ( Dazkent ) this afternoon to ask if it was ok to take my car to get the central locking looked at . They were busy but he said " Bring it down " . The lads soon had the door card off and sorted the problem out . They also fixed my loose window while they were in there . Great work , quickly done . Again , many thanks to the D2 crew . Highly recommended ! Brian

Is there such a thing as this type of guide for the wheels and fitament of wheels on a zed? (I spent a while searching before this post but didn't come up with anything.) I'm on the lookout for wheels and I saw a set with the following dimensions: 19x9.0 +42 PCD: 5/114.3 for the front 19x10.0 +37 PCD: 5/114.3 for the rear I see from searches I have done that a 9.5" rear with a 35" offset has a nice aggressive stance (Funkysi's being an excellent example). However would the same offset be ok with a 10" rear wheel or does the width of the wheel have a significant bearing? Does the offset on the front make sense with a 19"rim? I know that the size of …

The Zed had its first decent run this weekend at Wiscombe park, nr Honiton and did a 47.1 sec run thats a 3.3 second improvement on the last visit, still getting used to the car ... has a bit more power now producing 261bhp at the wheels not bad for a 1990 NA ...still on standard rear suspension, so handling needs looking at ... looks like she has great potential though..post pics later this week

Finding engine coolant leaks that leave no trace can often be difficult to locate without the correct equipment or a bit of luck. Here a case in question, water loss was very, very slow, infact sometimes it would loose no water at all for a while and then again later the leak would flair up again. The system held good pressure when tested several times and with no evidence to speak of it and it was a real puzzle. But a chance spot lead to the problem, a previous cambelt job had required the removal of the water pipes at the front of the engine, the two rubber pipes are held by 4 spring clips, one of the clips was not sitting correctly. A quick dimant…
