ok, after having trouble removing plenum i got some advice from a fellow zedder and will attempt to get the last few bits off and free the plenum. only problem is i am aiming to remove the Hicas solenoids/pumps (as i have the locking bar) and remove as much junk as possible. when looking at removing the HICAS part in the engine bay i could see the thing shared a pipe with the resevior pot. my question is......... if i plan to install a manual gearbox, clutch and clutch booster, remove AIV, EGR etc what pipes do i need to pick up? I can see that i need something to stop the REsovior connecting to the Hicas unit so i am trying to build a list of how many…

Just been to my local tame mechanic to ask about some suspension bits. ANyway, the last few days the car has been juddery at light throttle applications and lower revs so I was thinking TPS, sure enough popped the bonnet and the spring clip holding it on has disapared so its loose. Anyway it was pissing me off today so I thought i'll disconnect it and much to my suprise it made no difference. So I got home and began to have a proper poke around Bearing in mind the car drives just the same as it ever has above 3000rpm and even below if youve got a heavy foot, just tickling the throttle gives this juddering. Okay so picture time, firstly On this picture there…

Was just finnishing the last few bits so the battery could go in to try and get the car running. jacked the car up with two hydralic jacks on the middle of the cross member at the front. Firstly using a small one to then get the big one in there to get it high enough to put on ramps. The front of the car was on concrete with the two rear wheels backed out of my garage onto my shingle drive way. I checked it was central on the cross member as I jacked it up using the the big jack, the back of the car must have slid back on the shingle as it went up and it fell off the jack. With a loud thump the car slid back off the jack and then fell back down. The jack…

Was out for a drive the other weekend with my buddy and we decided to go get some beers as it was a nice day.. We pulls up at the local supermarket and to my horror this was what I saw 2 bays next to my car and my mates supra  I didn't know what to say, I don't know if it belongs to anyone on here, but I hope they are intending to get it fixed up soon as it's such a shame to see a Z in that state... -Sigh- :(

Is there any other car that the Nissan 300zx shares a gearbox with (I assume the TT and NA manual are the same)? This information could provide a cheaper way of sourcing a gearbox!

Hi Guys Went to Milton Keynes last night, which is about an hour's drive. On the way there, (about 3/4 ) i noticed the oil Temp was running at about 102/103 degrees. i had not thrashed it in any way, but just took it easy (had the wife on board) i kept an eye on it till i parked up, stayed 100-103. Went home later after 2 hours, temp was no prob, stayed 85-90, i have noticed it go up to 97/99 after some positive driving... but it always returned to normal. is this something to worry about?, what exactly goes on with the oil, is it gearbox oil? any advice would be helpful. Cheers BTW its a TT
