Just a heads up guys . I have in the shop at the moment an upgraded tt with the water coolant pipes having been removed from the turbo's ! This is the third car i have seen this last 6 months with this very risky mod carried out. I would recommend Not having this type of water bypass carried out its only going to lead to a shorten the life span of your turbo's. Air cooled Turbo's are built differently in the core to manage heat etc. water cooled units need water. Hope this is good information for you. Daz D2

( which was why it's been SORN since then ) 41 years old. 3 years UK license and 3 years no claims. sound about right?

The clutch on my -93 NA Manual import (used as my daily drive for 10 years now) is reaching end of life and I have a new "clutch kit" but I am guessing that there are "other things" that I should consider to swap at the same time as I get the gearbox out. Any advise of what should be swapped at the same time at the clutch would be highly appreciated. / Hans

Right, have bought a car now. Whooppee But already I have identified a problem. Boooo Was on a motorway slip road and on a long constant radius turn at about 70mph. When I hit the expansion gap the whole rear end stepped out of line a couple of inches, which was quite unnerving. Felt like the whole rear suspension was all at sea (rocking chair on a water bed). I dint notice this on the test drive and generally the suspension seems fine... unless you hit a bump mid corner, in which case it feels like the Hicas has decided to take a different route to the front wheels. As you may have guessed there is no lock out bar for the Hicas yet, but I wondered if …

This is on a 1990 auto tt all readings are good on the Datascan. Driving along at 50mph pull out to overtake, the throttle opens the auto box goes down gets ut to 70mph and then loses all power until I ease off the throttle, then the power comes back on. It's like there is a limiter or some device fitted. It doesnt happen every time usually when throttle is pushed right down. Any ideas would be most welcome as I am running out of clean knickers.:confused1:

Hi guys, Had the new car a couple of days now and decided to put my old stereo into it, the car has a conversion adaptor, that converts it to a din socket. Plug the din socket in, stereo works perfectly but there is no sound to the speakers. Took it into halfords and the guy was convinced the rear driver side speaker was arcing, so we took it home and took the speaker out, plugged in the stereo and unfortunately no luck! Any ideas?

Hey guys! Recently new 300zx owner, and am esctatic with the car! Literally the only issue with the car I bought is a knocking in the rear quarter passenger side. It sounds like it's behind one of the quarter panels, and definitely sounds like it's internal, like it was the speaker or something similar. I've not managed to track it down, and I don't think it's suspension related as the car has only done 40,000 miles and the suspension is very solid, no play and doesn't feel like there is anything up with it. Is there anything else that might be known to cause it?

  19. hi all. just reading up on the laws for rear illuminations on vehicles before i go down the road of rear panel lighting DIY ( thanks sussex stu for pointing out the you tube vid ). Think to keep within the law i will have to go with red ? think green can only be shown on a doctors car? so am thinking perhaps of tiny red 12v led's with a diffuser either wired to brake lights or side lights. has anyone been pulled over by the flashing blues yet for the same idea ? or come to think of it any other wierd and wonderful lighting modifications ?

  20. hi, i have a 90 n/a 300. is there any one in the andover ish area that has a good air mass meter that i could try. i have got a new unit from ebay and it has changed the problem (would not rev past 2500) to a missfire and what appears to be over fueling at 2800/3200. no codes in the ecu now.

hrrrrrrmmmm pffffooo, hrrrrrrmmmmmm pfffffooooo.... Thats basically what a TT should sound like with BOV's yeah? Had a test drive in a car with some unknown BOVs fitted direct inline with the hoses, but they were dead silent. Like, not even the slightest hint off any sudden release of pressure when lifting off the accelerator. Could this just be that whoever fitted them didnt want to draw attention, or is it somethin I should investigate more thoroughly. The engine pulled strongly and was clearly building boost, but I was a little disappointed when it failed to announce that boost was being dumped. whats the worst case scenario here? Ive driven a few T…
