Ok earlier on I installed a new head unit which was working fine until I put all the dash back together only to find it wouldnt power on. Also my pillar pods were not lighting up anymore either. So I checked the fuses and the top right (which I believe is audio) had blown. I replaced it and now the gauges in the pillar now light up again but my stereo doesnt work. I've had a look at the ISO and it looks ok, and I have also checked the fuse on the back of the headunit. The strange thing is the electric aerial activates when i plug in the ISO and goes back down when I unplug it from the headunit. But no power to the headunit. I've also tried three separate head u…

have been doing a bit of research into the history of my new Zed :detective: and to my suprise , it was the lead car in a film "Dolphins" I found a short clip of the film on youtube, does look a bit on the cheesy side, but ive ordered the DVD just for the sake of it :whistling: Anyone seen the film? think i have a mechanical issue under the car but havent had a chance to have a look under it yet, driving along there is a fairly loud clicking noise coming from under the car and it increases in speed with more revs and stops when the accelerator is lifted. the car is also vibrating/juddering quite a bit and its mainly an issue at slower speeds, also not boosting as effectively as before, thinking this is all related to something mechanical under there around the gearbox or the drive??

She's back! and more importantly "legal" this time around :) :balloon: Stuck some Werk alloys I had in the garage to get through MOT... like them.

i am pretty sure ive read the answer to this before, but just need confirmation.. scenario; the car is sorn, therefore not insured/mot'd or taxed. I plan to get car back on road soon, i know I cant get road tax without the mot and insurance. my questions is this - if i get the car insured, can i drive it to the mot station, to get it mot'd? then obviously i would go get road tax. from what i remember - i'm certain i read if u are driving direct to the MOT station you can? maybe I wrong? Would car have to be towed? anyone who knows please let me know, not gona get car MOT'd right now so not urgent but just so i know for future. thanks.

Bit of an odd question this, but does anyone know the legality of driving (short distance) without the front bumper on my zed?? Obviously I'd display the number plate in the front windscreen, etc... The reason I ask is that I need to remove my front bumper so I can get it re-fibreglassed but having an absolute ball ache of a time getting it off! Long story short I can't be arsed with doing it myself anymore so figured I'd get it down to a local garage/bodyshop and get them to take it off for me. The issue then is to how I get the Zed back home...can I drive it or will it have to be a trailer/recovery job??

Just a heads up guys . I have in the shop at the moment an upgraded tt with the water coolant pipes having been removed from the turbo's ! This is the third car i have seen this last 6 months with this very risky mod carried out. I would recommend Not having this type of water bypass carried out its only going to lead to a shorten the life span of your turbo's. Air cooled Turbo's are built differently in the core to manage heat etc. water cooled units need water. Hope this is good information for you. Daz D2

Getting my Zed back on the road. Tommorow :) :) :) Called Adrian Flux and got qouted £775 for 5,000 miles with every mod listed. - a hell a lot better than the £3000 I was qouted 3 years ago. ( which was why it's been SORN since then ) 41 years old. 3 years UK license and 3 years no claims. sound about right?

The clutch on my -93 NA Manual import (used as my daily drive for 10 years now) is reaching end of life and I have a new "clutch kit" but I am guessing that there are "other things" that I should consider to swap at the same time as I get the gearbox out. Any advise of what should be swapped at the same time at the clutch would be highly appreciated. / Hans

Right, have bought a car now. Whooppee But already I have identified a problem. Boooo Was on a motorway slip road and on a long constant radius turn at about 70mph. When I hit the expansion gap the whole rear end stepped out of line a couple of inches, which was quite unnerving. Felt like the whole rear suspension was all at sea (rocking chair on a water bed). I dint notice this on the test drive and generally the suspension seems fine... unless you hit a bump mid corner, in which case it feels like the Hicas has decided to take a different route to the front wheels. As you may have guessed there is no lock out bar for the Hicas yet, but I wondered if …
