Now that i've gotten my stereo sorted out, just wondering what you guys think is the best audio solution?

I know that it's 6.5" speakers that can go into the front (do they go in without modifying the door?) but i'm not sure if it's 16cm or 17cm.

 

Also, I know that 4" x 6" speakers go in the back, but i'm not sure if that's the best that will go in.

 

For this month i'm replacing the rear speakers, so advice on them would be great. I'm limited to about £60 per speaker at the moment but any advice would be appreciated!

I'm still stock, but by all accounts, the best way is just to upgrade the front speakers with a quiality component set, fit a tasty sub, and don't bother about the rear speakers, do a search bud, many thredads on it... hth

Yeah i've seen some of the other threads on the subjects, but none of them really suggest any exact speaker recommendations.

 

The amp has been bypassed in my car so I wouldn't be all that confident wiring in another amp to be honest, it's not really my forte. I was looking at getting some coaxial all round, but until payday I can only replace the (now broken) rear speakers. I was also considering a sub at some point.

You can fit these in the rears without much hassle and also buy another set for up front. Very nice sound for the money.

Those need an amp though correct?

No they will run from a head unit on its own just fine. I'm not a fan of amping mid range/tweeters anyway, 9 times out of ten you will end up with a worse sound than coming direct from the head unit.

I'd only consider an amp for a sub, to be honest and I don't quite want to do that yet.

i might have answered this before , not sure .

definately put your best speakers in the front . it depends whether you are a drum and bass junkie or if you just like clarity of sound . if its the later you wont beat focal speakers . they are pricey but if you keep checking on ebay try and find a good used set . go for polyglass or k power components. avoid the entry level stuff . another exellent make is harmon kardon . its what bmw stick in there luxury stuff . for a laugh type in focal utopia . make sure you are sitting down before you look at the price .

i have infinity kappa (made by harmon kardon) and they are very good value for money. as said if you want sq go for focal k power but no need for rear speakers as it will ruin the sound staging.
