Hi, Does anyone know where to buy the black side stripe that runs around the car? Black tape is quite easy to find; I need the correct width and if possible, the same material. Thanks.

Just noticed the steering seems a bit heavy. It looks like the power steering fluid is a bit low, but not too bad, could this be the cause. if not, any other suggestions If so, is there a particular spec oil I need to get?

Easy folks, My '95 Jap spec TT doesnt have a boost gauge, as is the case with series 4 and 5 models. Its no big deal in itself, but my car has been fitted with an induction kit, exhaust and chip - so i'm surprised that there is no boost controller. I would have thought that anyone going to the expense of fitting a new ECU would have also released a few more horses by winding up the boost. So, two main questions really: Firstly, is it possible that the boost pressure has been tweaked even though there seems to be no way to adjust the boost And secondly, can anyone recommend a small, digital boost controller? I've seen one on Driftworks website, but i'm not c…

Since i got my Z out of its winter storage, the boost has been acting wierd. Before it went away it would peak at 18PSI then tail off as the revs rise. ( know why, thats not the problem). I have a greddy profec e01 and an aftermarket boost gauge. I havent changed any settings or touched anything under the bonnet. So the problem, The eo1 and aftermarket gauge are showing different readings. The e01 is down by 7psi, and it seems its trying to control the boost accordingly. If i turn the engine off but turn the ignition back on, the gauge reads 0psi, but the e01 shows -7 psi. and this goes on throught out the rev range. So at peak i get 0psi on the eo1, and abou…

I've been struggling to change the bushes on my steering rack for ages now. First off it took bleedin' hours to get the old bush on the drivers side out, followed by what felt like a lifetime getting the new f****r in place. Now that the bush is in I can't get the f'in bracket back on!:censored: Every time I try to feed the bracket round it goes over a ps hard pipe, I've tried for over two hours today and it will not feed under this pipe. What am I doing wrong?? This job has been a nightmare from start to finish, I would have had less stress taking the engine out and doing it that way, would have been quicker too! Help I'm at me wits end with the bloody thi…

Hi Lads, First of many questions I guess. Finally started on the road to getting the 300 up & running. In relation to the fuel pump. Is there supposed to be an o ring or gasket or something between the fuel pump & the body of the car. Also the two hoses connecting onto the pump, are they held in place by hose clips?. All help gratefully received. ps Have looked in the FAQ section but to no avail :cool3:

I know what i'm about to ask has probably been covered a million times before, but I can't find the thread that I was looking at last week. On the weekend I made a start fitting after market boost/oil pressure and water temp gauges. 1. Which wire do I connect to for the lights to come on, on the gauges? 2. Where does everyone feed the pipe for the boost gauge through the firewall? I've found a place for the wires to run through but it's not big enough for the boost pipe that was supplied with the gauge. Gauges are fitted above the cd player in the centre console. Thanks in advance Matt

Well, i expected it to fail, what i didnt expect was it to fail on the things it did lol 1. head light on passenger side not illuminating (i knew about this anyway as i didn't get time to change the bulb) 2. horn not loud enough to be heard by other road users lol 3. excessive corrosion to seat belt anchorage point on drivers seat 4. excessive corrosion to seat belt anchorage point on passenger seat, 5. excessive smoke of any color. 6. number plate bulb failed to illuminate (oops stupid not to check that) 7. front offside brake binding 8. front near side brake binding. And two other points that i cant remember at the moment, but I'm getting a quote…

right after my recent problems with my Zed i've just got it in my garage to attempt to fix it, but im a bit confused... i had thought it to be the passanger turbo... symptoms: oil leak from around the passenger side turbo, (cant see if its coming off the turbo or not, but its running down the passenger elbow, and is all over everything, hadn't noticed it before the problems) exhaust leak back of passenger side elbow, front passenger side cylinder not firing - getting power, plug and coil good, injector is working, some oil in passenger side intake but not as much as i was expecting, smoke on idle, from start up, white turns to blue under slig…

My TT normally runs at about 75-78 degrees on the motorway, off boost. (Consult temp from the ECU sensor). This seems a bit cold compared with most cars, but I guess this is normal with a 76.5 deg C thermostat? The dash gauge is just marginally under horizontal. If I drive at constant 50mph a couple of minutes after a cold start, it takes over 10 minutes to reach 70 deg C. Ambient temp 10 degrees. Is this normal or could the thermostat be stuck open a bit? During warmup, at what temperature does the ECU stop fuelling rich, is it a threshold or does the enrichment gradually reduce as the temperature rises? What temperature enables full boost? Thanks!

Had to remove the bass box speaker to remove bass box and led the blooming great speaker [still connected to amp] on top of the amp and it blew fuse.:pinch: Removed speaker completely and replaced the 10 amp fuse 5 times :pinch: anybody know why?? The same fuse covers the clock and interior light, would the magnetic part of the speaker damage the amp and ultimately cause the fuse to keep blowing!! Dave:confused1::no:
