General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Weird one this I think chaps. My car is idling at about 2k revs from cold, is this normal? Main reason for this is, I'm out in my car now and when I'm putting the air con to have any kind of heat in it, its just stinking the car out. Any thoughts guys?

Seen a Black 300zx Import 11am today (14/05) Reg was H79? ??? Heading towards the A35 Southbound off of the M5 Junction 13.

Just a quicky i have removed so many wires getting a bit bogged down, i have 2 audio cables from head unit do they go into out conn or in conn on the back of amp??

I have a e36 323 touring now and its a really nice car but really miss driving the zed around, I have owned 3 now and still nothing compares to them, cant wait to get back on my feet again, I will be getting my fourth lol

..please could you guys leave me some links to companys selling 18" deep dish alloys? I've never had to hunt for new alloys before and wouldn't know where to start looking for alloys for the Z, also really busy in work and not getting the time to search at home so thought you guys would possibley help me out :tongue_smilie: The wheels on my car at the mo may be going to a new home on Sunday so need to find a set rather quick! Hi Guys, in the picture below, it shows the Starter motor with the hole's misaligned due to the fixing coming loose. The epc shows a bolt, M10x30, What i need to know is, 1,.does a bolt go there or have i lost a stud and nut, and 2 is the other fixing (not shown ) which is above a stud + nut or bolt. It might mean getting down and dirty, but i'd appreciate it. Thanks

Hi if drilled and grooved break disks were not fitted to the car as standard is it legal to fit them for use on the road in the UK? I am sure people do but I want to be legal, the last thing I need is the cops on my case.

Hi there all, I know its not a Z32 but it's the older brother of ours. Having not seen another 300ZX out here apart from Jonce I nearly fell of my bike when this shot past me. It belongs to one of the German civvie guys that work in my hanger, he don't drive it much as he cant easily get parts or people to work on it (sound familiar). Enjoy, Rob

Hi all, Im in need of new brake pads to fit my front 350z Brembos. Ive got Dba 5000 front discs. What pads have been proven to be ideal and more importantly best and cheapest place to buy them? It seems between Hawk Ferrodo 2500 Mintex Any others i may i missed? Cheers Dan

A very lucky fellow zedder today, on route to catch a ferry to Calais and a long drive ahead to Luxemburg and onto Serbia found the following horrific fracture in his near side rear wheel when checking tyre pressures during the first leg of his journey. The damage is completely through the spoke and meant the centre and outer rim have become a seperate item at that point, a shame I could not catch it with the camera but when the wheel was held up you could see light right through the fracture! A quick detour and we sorted him with a replacement wheel for his journey, and when talking with him he remembered a water filled pothole a day or so a…

How do you undo the top nut am I supposed to turn the top section or the nut underneath. Either way its just spinning around. Thanks.

Hi everyone, ive only been out for a couple of drives in my new 300zx and it is incredible. I love it! However, the boost gauge goes from -7 to +7 but when i put my foot down it doesnt go above about +5? when its idling it is at -7 which i no is normal, but i no there has been a lot of chat on here about safety boost and im guessing thats what it is. So long story short, how do i get the safety off! thank you all in advance, from the knightrider zed.

Hi all, Just after a little advice; my cars at Zedworld for it's MOT and a couple of other bits... It failed the MOT on movement in the upper Arms (already adjustable fitted by Previous owner) on the Front :angry:. Jamie has looked and basically they can't be tightened anymore so need replacing. For MOT purposes we're replacing with a stock item but obviously long term I need to replace with another decent adjustable set... I've looked at both Driftworks and the Zed centre sets and both look like they'ed do the job... question is does anyone have any experience with either make or can someone recommend a decent alternative?? Good afternoon! I have noticed that I am getting a fair bit of judder when braking and that I get squealing when braking from low speed. The brake setup is from the Silver streak (R33) and the discs and pads were replaced about two years ago. There doesnt appear to be many miles put on the car since they were replaced but I dont know how they were treated when they were on the car. My local garage has suggested that the discs are slightly warped hense the judder but I was wondering before I start outlaying more money if theres anything else that could cause these issues?
