...and very pleased. My Z had its MOT today and passed! No problems, just advice that my front tyres are on the limit. To be honest, I was not just expecting a failure but a need for some serious cash. Not that I am aware of any issues, and in fact the car is very clean (mechanically and bodywise), however you still expect something major to come out, especially after reading some of the posts on this forum!

Hey guys! My first major problem with my car :tt2: Basically, driving normally and the engine will cut out completely dead. All electronics will still be working, but I have no power steering (as the engine isn't going) So, I pull over and after a little while of trying to start it again (Usually about 10-15 minutes) it'll spring into life. This is very intermittant, I had it on the way back from buying the car! But once I had it home, I didn't have the issue for a couple of weeks up until yesterday where it started doing it again. So, pretty sure this is the PTU. Where is the cheapest place to grab one? Thanks guys!

Well its all together now apart from a few little bits. It does run and next week its going to the tuning shop to be mapped properly and have all the suspension, tracking, and a few other bits done so fingers crossed she should be on the road real soon . I have some new wheels on order from Japan so did not bother cleaning the old ones for the pictures . I fabricated the glove box pod myself rather pleased with it. Hi All, I need a new door guide pin for the drivers side window of my 1995 Z. The one that has the grommet on the outside of the window. I need both parts, the window side part that has the threded screw pin and the corresponding inner part that runs up the rail. Anyone who's breakijng a Z that can help me out it'd be much appreciated. Also, how the hell do you get the grommet off the wimdow side to access the screw? i thought that you'd need to pop the grommet off to access the scre, but it seems the whole thing is metal? Cheers Peter

Hi Guys, Can someone help me today? Ive down tools on the Zed for a few weeks now as i kept coming to problems after problems! But today i want to get cracking and get this problem out of the way:tongue_smilie: Could you kindley measure the distance from the back of the plenum to the bulkhead? and also state where abouts you measured from as this would be a great help. The reason being my down pipe is rubbing on the steering shaft and i need to get the engine correctly in place to mark the down pipe so it can be altered. I havent fitted the gearbox so im guessing the engine is either sitting back or sitting forward at the moment. Thanks Dan…

What do you guys and gals class as 'overheating'. my Zed under normal road conditions stays below 90 deg C but on the track it does rise to 95 ish, which scares the life out of me especially having a cast iron block and alloy heads which by nature expand at different rates. What does your car run at under 'stress' conditions (giving it welly) and is it modified.

More electrical connectors down by the right hand headlamp. They disappear into the loom and the harness that was plugged into them has been cut. Ive looked on my UK zed and it disappears down by the engine so i cant quite see. Hopefully someone has got their engine out at the moment that can tell me :)

Hi all It would appear that my drivers side window is moving away from the rubbers. The reason for this is that the screw that holds the middle edge of the window into the guide has come out. My question is this. Can you take the little plastic grommet out to screw this back in? If so is it just by using a thin screwdriver. Or do you have to take the whole door panel off from inside the car and do it that way.b anyone else had this? Cheers. Peter.

Hi All, It's been many months since I posted on the forum ..........sorry :blushing: With the help, guidance, encouragement and MIG welder of Ossian I/We have de-rusted and replaced the inner and outer right hand sill sections, inner and outer RH wheelarch and inner and outer RH lower quarter panel. Now to the left hand side of the Zed and I need to remove the fuel tank and filler neck, in order to cut out and replace the rusty sections of the quarter panel. It's too close to the tank and neck to weld with the tank in place, so, what's the procedure for removing the fuel tank and neck? Thanks - Andy
