What does one reckon on the link. Looks a bit pricy, but gives you the option (Loud/not loud). Cheaper than changing the Silencer (Not in my case -- silent that is!!) Would it affect performance that much too worry about http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120571005638&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Getting frigging burnt while fitting the clutch pedal assembly !!. Not to bad to do without removing the dash , just need to remove the lower trim panel and the air ducting under the dash , i had to drop the control unit on the side of the matrix to give a bit more room , if you look up under the dash there is an electrical box of some sort that is bolted into the threaded hole the clutch pedal uses , so drop that out of the way . The clutch pedal ready to go in , took a bit of shoe horning but it went in quite easy ! I cut down the auto brake pedal to the manual size Ftted the master cylinder and re-fitted all the gubbins and bobs ya uncle , q…

My car is a 92', jap import, just wondering if it has an airbag, as the drivers side sun visor has all the bumf about the SRS airbag, was it an option in that year? or has the sun visor been replaced, just wanted to know!

I have had intermittent cutting out issues for a while and always linked it in some way to the idle control and a fast idle which was likely to be the fast start valve, have replaced them both cleaned them but every now and then it would still annoyingly cut out. I have binned them all and replaced the idle control with a 15mm ball valve and set the idle to 900rpm, its been on for a month now, been to Crail for a track/drift day, been to the lakes and not cut out once. Need to rig up something for a fast idle as its a bit lumy for the first 30seconds with out the fast idle.

I've got a load of different gadgets and controllers ready to fit to the zed, but struggling to find any way to cram them all into the centre console. I've never considered putting them in the glovebox before, but I found this picture earlier and it seems to be the solution I've been missing all this time. So does anyone have a similar set-up in their car? Was it hard to make or is it something I can buy? I've got an Apexi AVCR Boost Controller, Apexi Rev/Speed Meter, Apexi Super Air Flow Converter to find homes for :turned:

  15. Made the trek up to john dixon's today to have the q45 maf fitted and a set up done. So a few hours on the dyno and john's magic touch later.... Found the position of the external wastegate is wrong and needs to be changed so the ebc can't be plumbed in as it pobably won't contol the boost properly. Also there's not enough fuel top end and until the boost is controlled it can't be set just yet. But once that is done john should get about 50 more horses loose. So who wants to guess at todays best figure? When the car came in the first run was 360bhp at the wheels, after several runs John got the power up rather well. Below is a graph of one of the average power …

...and very pleased. My Z had its MOT today and passed! No problems, just advice that my front tyres are on the limit. To be honest, I was not just expecting a failure but a need for some serious cash. Not that I am aware of any issues, and in fact the car is very clean (mechanically and bodywise), however you still expect something major to come out, especially after reading some of the posts on this forum!

Hey guys! My first major problem with my car :tt2: Basically, driving normally and the engine will cut out completely dead. All electronics will still be working, but I have no power steering (as the engine isn't going) So, I pull over and after a little while of trying to start it again (Usually about 10-15 minutes) it'll spring into life. This is very intermittant, I had it on the way back from buying the car! But once I had it home, I didn't have the issue for a couple of weeks up until yesterday where it started doing it again. So, pretty sure this is the PTU. Where is the cheapest place to grab one? Thanks guys!

  23. Hi All, I need a new door guide pin for the drivers side window of my 1995 Z. The one that has the grommet on the outside of the window. I need both parts, the window side part that has the threded screw pin and the corresponding inner part that runs up the rail. Anyone who's breakijng a Z that can help me out it'd be much appreciated. Also, how the hell do you get the grommet off the wimdow side to access the screw? i thought that you'd need to pop the grommet off to access the scre, but it seems the whole thing is metal? Cheers Peter

Hi Guys, Can someone help me today? Ive down tools on the Zed for a few weeks now as i kept coming to problems after problems! But today i want to get cracking and get this problem out of the way:tongue_smilie: Could you kindley measure the distance from the back of the plenum to the bulkhead? and also state where abouts you measured from as this would be a great help. The reason being my down pipe is rubbing on the steering shaft and i need to get the engine correctly in place to mark the down pipe so it can be altered. I havent fitted the gearbox so im guessing the engine is either sitting back or sitting forward at the moment. Thanks Dan…
