I'm not a great fan of big bodykits, but just found this on google. Details are shady, looks like its the 'explosion' kit made by 'Evolution'? Anyone got any other pics or thoughts? I think it looks good, and that rear spoiler looks like its off a diablo :detective:

  3. I've been having a further explore around my engine bay and have found a few puzzling bits... What this connector for? What should this (badly!) capped hose coming from the balance bar be for? (Yes that is an inch of pipe and a screw cable tied it, and yes it leaks as I have found out! Also, what the hell is this thing thats disconnected by the bonnet catch, dont remember my old one having it but it appears to be some pipe that runs through the bonnet catch area but no hoses plugged onto either end of it, although the electrical connecter still appears to be connected.

Barely noticeable in all fairness and it cleared once the car was driven. I think the oil level's a bit high, could that cause it? Thanks (again) in advance. (Sorry for being paranoid!!)

Hi everyone. Hope someone could give me some hints about my problem... I had the car at MOT last month. They said there was too much slack in the steering. I have checked the steering knuckle and bushing. I can't find any play.. I have a little slack in the steering, but that came after I changed the steering pump. Could air in the system cause slack in the steering ?? I have tried to bleed the system. But can't see any signs of air in the system. The oil is a bit over max, does that have anything to say?

Hi all, I am doing head gasket on my 300zx, I am stuggling to find head bolts. Do these need to be changed or are they not stretch bolts? If they need changing where can I get them? Also has anyone got any tips this is first 300zx head gasket changes I have done. Cheers.

Hi - my air con has been blowing hot for about 3 weeks. Went to my regular garage today for a gas recharge. Only problem is they could only find the 'H' input connector and none of us could see the 'L' or blue suction point. I searched the forum and the web but couldn't find where the 'L' connector is. There is a 'glass bubble' near the H connector but no sign of the Low or suction. Help??

Not sure if anyone on here uses the HEL BRAKE LINES (i know they make them for the 300zx) but check your brake lines asap. I normally dont copy paste things from other forums but think this a very important issue. From another forum: ATTENTION ALL HEL BRAKE LINE USERS!!!! CHECK YOUR HEL BRAIDED BRAKE LINES NOW!!!!!!! This was bought to my attention by my customer when he went for a MOT test. My customer drives an Accord Type R. I fitted a set of HEL braided brake lines to his car less than 11 months/10,000 mile ago. During the MOT test visual inspection, the MOT tester points out that his brake lines are cracking, then it went onto the brake roller…

I've had many automatic cars and many of them have had 'sports' mode on the gearbox. What I could do with knowing is what the difference between 'Hold' and 'Power' is. I have assumed that 'Power' is effectively the sports mode as it engages at kickdown/full throttle but in the absence of an owners manual I can't figure out 'Hold'. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Ive just spent a small fortune on getting my 1st Z on the road. Its an 1989 import t-turbo Auto. It has just been mot'd, had a Major service- at the mot centre, then it went straight to a local garage (less then 1 mile away from the mot centre) and had New :- Cam belt, tensioner + idlers, water pump, Gates Aux belts x3, + SFS coolant hoses fitted. I thought everything had gone well........... after only 14 Kmtrs, I thought I would try the sports mode on the A/T, and when I pulled away from the lights, the car had just started to boost, when.... splutter, cough, splutter, then it cut out. I left it for a few mins and tried starting it again, it started fine + …

My zed's been sat on axle stands for the past 8 months while ive been doing alot of work to her. I've got everything reconnected, all the fluids replenished but when i turn the key, the engine is turning over but not firing. The battery was making a clicking noise but once i put a booster pack on it, the clicking stopped. I disconnected the fuel supply pipe after the filter to make sure i was getting a fuel to the engine. All Ok there. The only other thing i can think of, is that the spark plugs arent wanting to play. Anyone offer any advice?

Having been working on a spare engine in my garage, i suddenly thought to myself, how the hell would you get to half of this stuff with the engine in place. And i dont mean the usual parts you can only get to with the engine out, but things like injector plugs, fuel damper hoses etc.. friggin nightmare. So my hats off to Jeff, Jamie and anyone else who has to deal with these bits while the engine is in the car:bow::bow:

Just a quick thread to thank Dan @ DTA and Dave (Yewcheck) for helping me get my front brakes sorted. Dan for sorting me out with a good deal for the 356mm 8 Pot setup and Dave for posting me some 5mm spacers for nothing not even the cost of postage when my car was stuck in the garage! All in all it took longer than expected and I had to go for a 25mm hubcentric spacer setup on the front but am very pleased with the result and look! Cheers fellas!:clap: Excuse the size! On another note does anyone recommend a good 4 wheel alignment garage in the chippenham / swindon area?

Hi, I tried to PM you, but I couldn't figure out how, sorry. Anyway, I've been told that you're the man to speak to regarding fettlement of my recently acquired TT. I'm quite handy with a spanner myself, but I only work in Bristol during the week so all I have with me is a 19' socket and a multitool so I'm at a bit of a disadvantage to do any work myself!! If you're ammenable, I could use the cambelt changed a service and a couple of other odds and ends doing. Let me know if you can and/or want to help me out. Thanks in advance. Rod.

Hi all, I'm new on here and for the obvious reason that initially I need some help please. I have a '96 non-turbo 300ZX and the MAF just quit! Can't afford a new one & can't find a s/h one. I've seen a couple of motor factors advertising new ones on Ebay but both say they need fuel/ign retune. Anyone know what this means or involves? Oh and one says that his are made in the USA not China or presumably Lithuania! I need to get this sorted fast and then I'm selling it anyway.
