Anyone know anything about Pioneer head units? I've got one that has a blue IP-Bus connector socket on the back. Now the unit I have is a radio cassette and I also have the matching CD/equalizer. Now the CD player plugs into this IP-Bus socket with a blue plug, and I know that the socket is for a CD changer (or in this case a single CD player) Now my question is... on the back of the CD player is another socket identical to the one on the back of the radio and I've found out that the CD specs say that there is IP-Bus in and out (plug = out, socket in) so what I'm wondering is can I plug another attachment into the additional socket on the back of the CD player and the rad…

Hi John, I have owned a nissan 300zx twin turbo in red for over a year now and had major work/ restoration done to it. Basically it has been built to handle 750hp. just over 3 years ago. The engineering company that built it said it perviously had a stand alone apexi in it and an apexi avcr boost controller to run it to 700hp. However the stand alone apxei was removed form the car before it came into my possesion. I noticed under the passenger footwell the ecu has one of your chips in it. The chip states it has been programmed to handle 555cc injectors, stock/cam/turbos./smic *** something intake..and then your name with it. I just wanted to know how much hp can …

Guys I need to fit a new aerial to my car as the current one is mounted to the inside of the front windscreen and gives a crap/ signal (something very similar to this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/INTERNAL-GLASS-WINDSCREEN-MOUNT-AMPLIFIED-CAR-AERIAL-/320532140629?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4aa1345255 Has anyone used a signal amp or similar to boost their signal? It's either that or I am looking at mounting a new aerial and mount just behind the t-bars on the roof, but I'd only go that route as a last resort. Do not really want to take a drill to the Zed's roof! Was thinking some sort of bee sting type thing or one like they use on the VW g…

Hi has anyone had any experience with these tyres I'm getting mixed reviews some people rate them highly but others like on the evo forum complain of weak side walls. Gone off the idea of 888s and the new yoko advan ad08 as they are to soft. I'm after an all round tyre good for road and the odd track day maybe. Any ideas? Thanks Dan

Hi all, Having taken my 300 ZX TT for a frst run today I am very impressed by the performance. However as this is my first turbo'd car I crave a BOV valve to make some additional noise. I assume with 2 turbo's I can run a pair of BOV's but I do not know a lot about fitting them. Can anybody advise what I should be looking for? I am hoping someone offers a complete fitting kit to make life easier although some pointers on where to fit them would also help! Cheers Jay

Well i'm off shopping for all the remaining bits this saturday to get it started next week :hyper: One job I need to do is hook up the final wiring to the starter motor/alternator. I have one thick wirecoming directly from the (+) of the battery to the engine bay that i assume used to attach to the starter motor on the original engine. NOW with my limited knowledge of engine bay electrics I would imagine that: The thick (+) feed wire goes to the (+) of the starter The (-) of the starter goes to the block and the block the the earth of the battery From the (+) of the starter to the charge of alternator? Do I need a relay inbetween the key barre…

Well guys I have just been reading an article tonight about the street racer who was the inspiration for the story which became The Fast and the Furious. Well have a guess what car he used to race . . . . . . . . . ? Yep boys and girls, a starion initially and then a 1990 300zx twin turbo !!!!!! When racing, he used to give other cars advantages (car lenghts) and still beat them over a mile. Article for anybody that is interested : http://www.turbomagazine.com/editors/turp_0602_1990_nissan_300zx_twin_turbo/index.html

Thanks to Munny975 for sending me a PM when he had seen these on ebay, I have been messed about something wicked trying to buy a set of rays wheels. I really liked these so bought them, had to pay £250 for shipping as well but think they are smart. Might silverplate the gold bits not sure yet. Will take 8 weeks to arrive http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250636478761

As she raws back into life after been four years off the road, because of engine out and rebuilt pratically ,sorry are new enternals to my tubs with 360 bearings and stagger stage step oil seals thanks to the one one the only MR SILVER BULLET and not only for sorting out my tubs but also for the advice of witch turns out i could not have done myself without. I let her tick over for a while until she came off the slightly higher rev and setalled down to 800 revs and the temp up to norm working temp before slowly brining her up to 4000 rev at 500 intervals because i had which i think a sticky hydrallic lifter /tappet noise going on on a cylinder and it cleared.BUT my que…

Hi im in need of some help here before i buy. The wheels i want only come in a 9.5 and a 10! I want to fit a 9.5 on the front and a 10 on the rear. My choices of offset for the front is either et12 or et25. Im going to have the arches rolled, Would it be best to go with either a et25 and hope the spokes clear my Brembos or go for a et12 and go for a spacer. They do the 10 in either et12 et25 or et35. They have advised for an et35 does this sound right? I want the wheels to fit flush as poss with the arch. I know im going to need a stretch on the tyres what size would you think would suit to fit? Cheers Dan

The previous owner of my Z had problems with the air conditioning over the 5 years he owned it; basically it was making a terrible noise that got worse. It has not been re gassed since import in 2004. He took it to a garage and they said they had fixed it electronically. I have the invoice for the work done it cost him £60 two years ago; a Z specialist located in Swindon. But he admitted he didn’t think it was working very well and hardly used it. So the other day I had a quick look and basically all they had done as far as I can see is remove the fuse. I put a new fuse in and turned it on and yes it makes a terrible noise. Three questions:- 1. What are the likely p…

Hi I had the cats removed, middle boxes took out so straight through stainless to the back boxes. Very Loud Had enough last year so I took it back to the place who done it, crossed their greasy palms with another £300 and had quieter back boxes fitted. Still Very Loud. They told me the only way to go any quieter now is to fit a standard restrictive back box on and have a totally standard exhaust note. Am I right in thinking if I got some middle boxes and had them refitted it would quieten down or just restrict flow? Do you think it would make much difference.
