Just wondering how this plumbs in really. What I don't understand is that the AVC-R comes with its own single solenoid. But the zed has two turbos and two solenoids. So does that me I need to order and additional solenoid? The manual on Apexi's site makes no mention of linking up two solenoids to the AVC-R? Lastly, where can I get one for a decent price? thanks, Jay

Just wanted peoples thoughts on this, i will shortly be fitting a set of these courtesy of car mad  .... this is to kind of finish off what i want the front to look like, but am slightly stuck over the colour choice. I was all set on body colour (kh2) grey, but i've seen pics where they look really nice in black or a matt lighter style finish to match the bumper as close as poss? would have others done? (help) Chris

Lads, Finally got the fuel pump back into the car. Charged up the battery because it was dead. Put 20 quids worth of petrol in & still it won't start. Keeps turning over & over but not firing. Have read various posts on the forum but I can't hear the pump priming at all. What else do I need to check. Car has been laid up for awhile if that's any help Thanks :)

Here are some pics of a couple of Z31's that I've had for a few years now. 'The Machine' is an '86 N/A Z31 which may be restored in the future (and fitted with the full leather interior from the black 'Z' below) or sold on as a summer project for someone else to enjoy I put a new battery on it last week and it fired up first time The silver Z31 is going to be converted as a 'tramp drifter' for this season, in order to run it in whilst my Z32 build is ongoing The plan is to remove the rear hatch and rear windows, fit a 4 point weld in roll cage (that I've just sourced for £50!) and convert it into a flat back OZ inspired UT/31. The tir…

Just wondering. (All pro's & con's of SIDE MOUNTED INTERCOOLERS vs FMIC aside) Assuming that you had the correct custom made piping, surely a FMIC for a mk IV Supra or GTR (still running a twin turbo setup) would fit a Z32 TT??? I know that you can import Greddy and HKS FMIC's specifically for the Z32 from places like Z1/CZP etc. but second hand FMIC's are a lot harder to find in the UK. Whereas other makes and models are better catered for. Just wondering if anybody could advise on this :thumbup1:

Haven't had the Zed long and want to get an oil change done. As a new Z owner i've used the search tool and as expected i've loads of different makes of oils to use which is great. The problem I do have, is that I always order from Opie oils and when I've done the search on their site for the oil/oil filter service packs https://www.opieoils.co.uk/product-finder/car/oil-filter-service-packs/nissan/1992/300/PETROL/300/21298/product-finder-2.aspx he recommends 5w-30 but on a recent post by the oil man (opie oils) on a thread that yewcheck started 'Best oil to use' he says we should be using and I quote 'Best oil to use would be a synthetic, we recommend either 5w-40 or…

My Z has got a misfire at around 2000-3000rpm, it runs really rough and sometimes I have to put my foot right down to get it to pull through. after about 3000-3500rpm it springs back into life and runs really smooth again... I have noticed it is using more fuel than usual, there is a hell of a lot of black up the back of the car & when the revs are held to make it misfire the nearside exhaust seems to shake and splutter as though thats the side its coming from. Also, it only normaly does it when it is warm. Cheers guys, Dan

I've recently noticed an intermittent problem. Sometimes, following full boost, the car seems to be hesitant, a little juddery, almost as if it's running on 5 cylinder. This sometimes disappears with further driving or on restart. Would a boost leak or a faulty knock sensor cause these symptoms? An ECU test showed no faults. I've checked all accessible connectors and they seem fine as is the series 2 PTU. The engine harness was replaced a few years ago. If this was a constant problem, I guess I would look at the plugs, coilpacks, injectors etc. But this is an intermittent problem but annoying just the same. Any ideas? Cheerz

  21. hi all, well another summer, another problem arises!! over the last few weeks car has started to develop a weird squeel, it does it on idle more than anything else and sounds consistent at 1 pitch (imagine the sound a jet engine produces), i get the feeling its a belt of some kind either loose or rubbing on something, also this may not be connected but it also feel as tho the car is running very rough on tick over at lights ect, almost as though its chugging like a tractor although not as severe obviously, the squeel dies as you kill the engine, but not instant, it dies over about half a second as the pitch dropps off. on the way home tonight things got much wor…

Like many on this forum, you probably have always wanted to get rid of those faded velour seats and trim! There is always the option of re-upholstering the car, but does anyone know if it is possible to dye the fabric to a different colour? I have heard of people 'painting' the fabric and seen a number of products that allow you to do this, but to be honest, I would hate to think what the results might me. However, if such a product exists, it might be possible to use a brush or something similar to apply a strong, permanent dye to the fabric. Anyone know more about this?
