  1. hi all, well another summer, another problem arises!! over the last few weeks car has started to develop a weird squeel, it does it on idle more than anything else and sounds consistent at 1 pitch (imagine the sound a jet engine produces), i get the feeling its a belt of some kind either loose or rubbing on something, also this may not be connected but it also feel as tho the car is running very rough on tick over at lights ect, almost as though its chugging like a tractor although not as severe obviously, the squeel dies as you kill the engine, but not instant, it dies over about half a second as the pitch dropps off. on the way home tonight things got much wor…

Like many on this forum, you probably have always wanted to get rid of those faded velour seats and trim! There is always the option of re-upholstering the car, but does anyone know if it is possible to dye the fabric to a different colour? I have heard of people 'painting' the fabric and seen a number of products that allow you to do this, but to be honest, I would hate to think what the results might me. However, if such a product exists, it might be possible to use a brush or something similar to apply a strong, permanent dye to the fabric. Anyone know more about this?

I was told that 740's were on my car when I got it. Found out today I have 450's. explains why the 500+ ( on an honest Rolling Road !) was proving very illusive. 650's on the cards now.. could be a very good year :)

  9. Since we usually hear from the complaints dept, I thought I'd give a bit Thanks and high recommendation to Ryan at 2Bartuning.com He came by my place today for a CSI Miami operation on my MOTEC system. Took a lot longer than we expected, but in end figured out that Owens Developments didn't changed a gear change setting when they took it off Full-Throttle gear change. Overfueling like crazy at gear change and caused me to miss JapFest!! :( It's driving like a dream now. :) Thank you Ryan!! ( and also to SilverBullet for a similiarly Top-Class mobile mechanic experience 2 weeks ago! ) If you ever have any ECU questions, or an after market set-up…

Thought my car battery was dead, brought it up to the yard to charge it, but the charger is saying fully charged, put a volt meter on it, and its showing charged also, apart from my immobiliser, what else would cause no power to anything, no lights on dash, no nothing, not even the map reading lights that the immobi doesnt stop working? checked to make sure the battery connectors are properly on. typical the day i try and move the car after dragging my self down to it, i have no power.

A very small one? Found 6 boost leaks some on pipes i removed but some on pipes i have not touched. I pressurize the system to 5 bar and there is a very slight hiss from rear of engine! i have moved pipes, removed/refitted pipes and loosened and tightened clips but cannot seem to sort, is this crucial. As i said very small hiss on 5 bar. Dave

Ok so my car is now in the bodyshop to get the front bumper sorted, so I thought i'd start this thread to show progress. This is what it looked like when I first had it: Lots of damage and paint missing. Currently bumper is off being repaired as follows: I bought some ABS plastic mesh off ebay to tidy up the big gaping hole and im gonna get the number plate repositioned! More photos to follow on the road to completion!

Hi everyone, long story short, went to zedworld today for a check up. found some good things and some bad. i have a boost leak which involves taking of the engine loom and looking into the gaskets (£300) job from zedworld. but i found out my ECU is chipped to 400bhp and my exhaust system is worth a lot of moneyso could be worse (and i got a free sandwich!), i just cant access that power with this damn boost leak! so basically if anyone is near manchester with some mechanical knowledge that reckons they could have a go at it, id pay you! any takers? as you can tell, i do not know much but i am learning! cheers

I could buy a couple of leather settees, that are in good condition (Burgundy in colour off of fleebay. Could get em for £50 if no-one else bids). http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-and-3-seater-burgundy-italian-leather-sofas-/130392325696?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Home_Garden_LivingRoom_Sofas_UK&hash=item1e5bfcfe40 I got black series 1 seats, so they are plain not ribbed. So if I got these settees, i could cut all the big bits of leather and re-trim the doors, arm rest glove box etc. Has anyone done this, would it work. I can't see a problem with it. Tell me I'm wrong if I'm being a kn*b!! Would Burgundy be too close too black as a contrast, bearing in min…

PS. finally got my handbrake gaitor done though - the old warn piece of s…

Guys need to remove the side windows basically. Have the door cards off and was wondering if it's just as easy as removing the top 2 "stop" points that stop the glass from raising up any further. Does the glass then lift out of the runners?

Hi guys, I'd be grateful for an honest opinion... I have the opportunity to buy a Z32 which in all respects in perfect...except it's an auto. Always been a manual die-hard, so is an auto Z32 Twin Turbo worth getting? Is it quick enough and is the experience worthwhile? How much better is the manual twin turbo? It would be great to hear from those who have driven both. Thanks.

I have some starting problems at the mo which mean I need to keep charging the battery. I've been told that I need to remove the battery before I charge it, otherwise the loom will get charged as well. Is this right, cos it's a bit of a pain in the neck? Am I going to cause problems if I charge the battery in situ? I've always done that with other cars I've owned.
