hi im looking to buy my first 300zx twin turbo. dont know too much about the cars, such as things to look out for. I mean, i know the basics of when buying a used car but are the certain things to be cauitous about with the 300. also not to sure about the price range, ive seen a few rough ones at 2k and was wondering if I could get a nice clean example for 3 to 4k. any help would be much appreciated. :thumbup1: cheers :thumbup: Baz

The shock is I don't have any :cowboy: lol Well a bit of surface :detective: Finally got round to dropping the rear sub frame today. I'm really chuffed with the state of the car underneath. Sills are solid, there is a 50p size hole on the N/S side but that has been removed and treated (inside as well) brake pipes are fine with just a bit of surface rust but I will be replacing the worst of them. Strangely the HICAS pipes are really rusted, don't know how these have gone but the brakes are still OK? Not that it matters as I'm ditching them. The rest is just surface rust which I'll be removing and then treating and undersealing the whole back end, ready for my newly …

I've had this bumper for ages, and decided its time to do 'something' with it. :cowboy: Some Z's I see with scarab bumpers look brilliant (Daz's & Nick's for example), whereas others dont look so good. I think they suit dark colour cars better, which is good as my car is going 'a dark colour' (not decided which yet!) So please air your views whether you think it will look good or not, and help me decide. One plus point is that it'll give me far superior air flow to the intercoolers, but I've also got carbon fog light ducts to go in. The nose panel is another 'unsure' mod. ps. I know its not fitted on properly :whistling:

ok can anyone help with this one, just fitted new door handle on the z tested it all seemed to work ok, shut the door now cant open it locking works off the key and internal lock handle but cant open door on either internal or external handles is there any way to get the door open? door card is part off the door so got limited access

anyone know the diamiter of the pistons used in the iron z32 4 pot front calipers? i fancy making some stainless pistons to fit.

hey chaps i did a search for caliper paint and hemmerite seems a favourite but which one is it? is it the aerosol or paint tin? is it any hammerite or smoothrite or does it say on the tin heat resist? cheers

Hi Guys, I need to remove the wheel`s off my scrap zed so it can be scrapped, does anyone know the tool i need to get the alloys off,It seems an unusual locking nut? any help or links would be appreciated Thanks Daz.

Bought Dremel 4000 for £100 from B&Q 2 days latter its dead. Whats crap is it was the last one in stock at my B&Q and if I buy one elsewhere will just be a PITA returning it when that one burns out in another 2 days. Everything these days is expensive crap!

Evening Lads, I have been comtemplating today about getting more power to the floor from my zed. The engineer that built it has told me I could easily without compromising reliability. Add another 150 bhp to the rear wheels,(taking it to 550bhp approx) with my current mechanics. With the addition of an upgraded chip or stand alone management system, better clutch and a good tune. What would you guys on the forum suggest? Ie Stand alone management or chip?...And what type of clutch would be best which doesnt compromise drivability. What would the costs be? Your thoughts would be appreciated on this mater. Kash

Hi matey, I ordered the LED fog and reverse light mod from you around 2 weeks ago, have recieved a package about a week ago, with 2 units, one has an 'R' etched into the PCB, and the other an 'F', I presume that is fog and reverse? I haven't tested them, but was just letting you know that is all I have recieved... I am not complaining at all, I'm sure you are busy, and the units are very nicely made, bang on for the price, I couldn't make em for that! Many thanks, Tudor...

i dont want to increase my power too much at the moment so im trying to strip as much weight as i can, now i want racing seats in the front, does anyone know where i can get subframes for a 300zx? i have a nice heavy LWB and im thinking of stripping everything from the front seats back, i've already done alot under the bonnet. this question might annoy some of the elitists out there, if you dont like what im doing with my Zed, keep it to your self its my Zed so :tt2:

I have recently aquired my first 300zx. It's a JDM TT slicktop. After a trouble free first 400miles i now can't get it to start. I am mechanically incompetent unfortunately:sad: So i was wondering if you guys know of anyone in the Reading area who might be able to help?? Beer tokens and tea/coffee at the ready. hey guys, i have seen on the bigred website i think it was they do caliper seal kits for our stock calipers no if im correct i belive our calipers are the same as subaru calipers and i found they do some stainless pistons, has anyone else seen this, i think i need some new pistons and if these fit i will use them

Althought he odometer's still turning. I assume it's electronic, but can someone confirm whether my speedo's mechanical or are my assumptions correct that it works off electrickery? Either way, where do I find the connectors? TIA.

My car misses like Emile Heskey from 2 yards out in the rain after a rainey night/day and when its sunny again it runs beautifully. SO there is rain getting somewhere any ideas the most likely place? It's undriveable at the moment, it accelerates but is very choppy and misses/cuts out/revs all over the place.
