First of all, certainly a very long time since my last post, so hello to all the old school members I'm currently looking about for some 99 spec rear lights and came across lots of these chinese knock off copies for very cheap money( not sure if they have been reveiwed here before, cant find anything in the search), all they require are the thin black lines to fully emulate the originals. Has anyone bought these and perhaps know of their quality? Cheers Andy http://cgi.ebay.ca/1990-1996-96-NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-RED-CLEAR-JDM-TAIL-LIGHTS_W0QQitemZ150435895413QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2306ad9875

I bought my z a few months ago with a slightly noisy lifter on tickover but other wise all fine. Last week it was getting louder and since I hadn't changed the oil since I bought it I thought it best to do it then. After changing the oil the lifter got really loud and the car started running lumpy on tickover but fine when driving (although the lifter has become a loudish knocking even when driving it. Checked the ECU for codes... code 55, nothing wrong although there is some pre ignition on accelleration. Yeasterday I decided to phone a trusted trader who deals with zx's and price up relpacing the lifter, gaskets, and anything else I may as well do while I am in …

Guys When I bought the zed the indicators never cancelled when you turned a corner. This was solved when I bought a new wheel with the proper fixing kit. Anyhows I had to remove the thick (already broken) double electrical plate thing that went on there with the stock wheel. With it on the new wheel would not go on the spline properly and the indicators would not cancel again. Thing is I have wiring for a central horn and two thumb mounted NOS buttons to wire in. The problem is how on earth can you rotate the wheel 360 degrees one and a half times each way and wire them in without the nissan thingy??? I cant use the Nissan one even if it would fit a…

Well after keeping it off the road for a couple of months, i decided as the weather is looking alot better i'd tax my zed and get it back on the road. So yesterday i taxed it and today i got two new front tyres on it and also i changed the rear lights for the 99 spec replica's i made about a year ago lol. I can safely say they look a hell of a lot better than the old ones!!! Some piccies :) Not great but just quickies to show it off!

I've got an s13 and instead of doing the usual thing of redrilling 5 stud disks and fitting either s14 or z32 tt calipers I took the easy option and fitted pre 96 non turbo z32 calipers on the front cos they run on 26mm wide disks same as the s13 instead of 30mm like the tt's. Does anyone know if the rears are the same?? will the pre 96 non turbo's run thinner disks on the rear same as the front. Cheers.

ok i know im repeating but im making one last double check. i know where the jacking points are to raise the car and where the saftey stands are for the 4 axle stands. aswell as jacking the car from the front crossmember i can ALSO bring axle stands forward from the guides "safety stands points" and place under front cross member? this will in effect help me by not having to raise the front as high to get the clearance needed for the intended safety stand points as i can have them more towards the front of the car under the crossmember?

Hello all, Long time no speak, The Z has failed its MOT and I do not have the time or money to fix it. I would like advice on whether to break it or to try and sell for spares / repair. In summary the Mot failed it on crossmember and break lines. I have set up website if people would like to have a look and request stuff here I am also willing to sell the car if someone would like the project, nothing wrong with the engine, body, gearbox etc just those two points!! Will put the Mot certificate up soon. PS the car has a cherished plate which will stay with the car if you buy it. Worth about £500 (J5 GDL) Cheers zx_steve http://zx-steve…

I'll soon be refurbing my spare TT engine ready to go in my zed. The engine was out of my breaker and was in very good conidtion, with a recent water pump, New big end bearings, thermostat, plugs oil filter. The compression is also very good. Engine has done less than 60k and ran very well in my jdm. As it's sitting on a stand i thought I would do the following on it;(not in any real order) Remove tubs Refurb Tubs, was thinking of asking Jimmer to balance them for me. Refit Turbos new cambelt New drive belts New tub seals Check manifolds for cracks clean plenum Clean hard water pipes clean throttle bodies delete EGR Delete Plenum water pi…

Weather is going to be great on Sunday and we're having a gathering at a pub near Swindon. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=137217 So if you lot are at a loose end, would be cool to have some more people. Have about 10 so far which is quite a nice amount....but would be nice to make it a 'bigun', like the infamous Ross-on-Wye meet of 2005. :)
